Today I fought against a Mewtwo with game set to 1-stock and random stages.
Of course the game picked a walk-off so it was utter hell.
Speaking of walk-offs, just got Pac-Land, Dream Land GB, Flat Zone and Spirit Train all in a row, all standard, while playing online

It's time to kick Duck Hunt off the table.
While we could argue all day about the games' quality since Melee, I still think it's the intro that still gets me. Ulitmate's comes close but Smash 4 and Brawl's just can't hold a candle to it.
I know this is an odd request but does anyone by chance have the article in which sakurai details how journalists tried to keep up with the everyone is here trailer and gave up midway through to just enjoy the thing?
hope the next update adds a "I want to continue playing but not this this dude" button, kinda irked I have to go out to character select to do this every time

People see funny internet meme video and become dead set on trying to pull it off themselves.
I saw a fair amount of Wendy players after all those legit actual meme videos of her came out all at once from most of the popular Smash content creators. These players legit thought Wendy was some sort of broken character and just kept trying to pull the same "epic" stuff they saw her do in those videos. It was sad honestly. I'm supposed to be shit at this game, and these guys were just giving me towels to wipe their floors with.
Same thing happened with ROB and Luigi after their 0 to deaths gained traction. Zero has a video of him fighting a Luigi who WOULD NOT ENGAGE HIM unless Zero was below a certain percentage and not on a platform, all because he knew nothing about Luigi but the 0 to death combo that he saw on Youtube.
I do think I am starting to get bored of some certain characters or how people play them though. Any Belmonts or K.Rool I see online literally start out and continue the match in the same ways, and when you just show them you know how to get past their repetition, they just don't know what to do and usually freeze up. I laugh even more when I decide to play a Belmont online, and I play them in a non typical way, and suddenly my opponent almost seems scared of me, like "BELMONTS CAN ACTUALLY MOVE AND NOT JUST SPAM CROSS AND AXE UNDER A PLATFORM!?"
Biggest thing that helped my Belmont game was that you can angle their Fair and Bair. Makes neutral a lot easier to deal with without having to rely on projectiles.
oh man i totally agree with that last bit. i just beat an inkling because they had no idea how to kill besides using side b. they would literally get me to 100% or so then just run back and forth across the stage with it
