Super Smash Bros. General v23: Generic Thread Title To Piss People Off Edition

We'd like to believe that this Charizard merely decided to disobey its Trainer for a little while, much like Ash's Charizard did in Pokémon the Series.
Since when has "canon" ever started with "we'd like to believe"
Chrono even has a potential cooldown based specials moveset, involving techs with his teammates like a side B dash turning into X Strike with Frog when Frog's ATB meter is full. Same with Marle, Lucca and Robo, each assisting with a different move.
Think of it like a faster charging version of Cloud's Limit, with a different meter for each move.
When Pokemon Trainer found Charizard he punished Charizard by making him forget rock smash.
Or he stopped using him as a HM slave
They also wanted him to stop murdering Geodudes
Nah
I don't want like 4-5 different meters hovering over a portrait
It would only show the ones that are on cooldown
And the timer would be short enough to where it's extremely rare to have more than two on screen at once unless you intentionally spam all his specials in a row
Dante would fit perfectly as a shill pick, though. Companies want to promote their games, Nintendo wants big name characters. Persona 5 is getting a bunch of releases which might not even be coming to any Nintendo systems, so Dante stands a chance because Capcom wants DMCV to be a big deal.
I'd be fairly surprised if Monster Hunter doesn't become a dlc fighter.
they already have a moveset they can work with from mvci
And an entire area in WoL
I hope it's an actual character and not a monster that plays like charizard or bowser. There's some really cool looking armor in MH.
Just no talking.
I went this long without realizing Ryu and Ken can cancel their normals and aerials into specials
Uair confirm into input DP is something I desperately want to learn how to do at full speed, I can only manage it with the regular Uspecial in that tight a window unless I slow the game down in training
Most of my most wanted picks are now Capcom characters, which is both a blessing and a curse. Chances for someone like Phoenix Wright, Monster Hunter(/Palico) or Dante are honestly not that far out there at this point, but chances of seeing multiple of these are then very slim.
With how much representation there is for Monster Hunter in the base game it is really strange how there isn't a base game newcomer.
Guessing some of the things like the music and Rathalos were added after the roster was already decided.
People who are more familar to the series, please correct me, but I believe the MH team considers the main characters to be the monsters rather than the MCs. So basically the MvCI team went above them to add the character to the roster, while the Smash team respected their wishes.
There is a quote from Seth Killian during an interview if they ever had plans to include MH into MvC3:
Considering its popularity, I was surprised Monster Hunter didn’t make it into Marvel vs. Capcom 3 in some way. Seth Killian: Certainly they were on the list and we actually made a proposal to the Monster Hunter team and producer. The answer I believe came back was no. You don’t just have to have the idea to have the character. You also have to get permission from the producer of that series to include the character and however they are implemented. They thought it wasn’t a good fit for the game and maybe they’re right. The hunter is sort of a malleable personality, rather than a super strong character in Monster Hunter since he’s so customizable. From there where do you go? Like a Felyne? A Poogie? I don’t know. A Lagiacrus or something like that. I don’t know what you’re going to put in there from Monster Hunter. So, anyway it didn’t work out. They’re just too cool for us.
Couldn't find anything on whether or not it was because they don't see the Hunters as the MCs or if the MvCI had to get higher ups to "force" them in tho.
So, I know it's too early for a tier list, but what characters can we all agree are objectively strong?
The options they have, the utility and framedata of their moves, the number of high damage combos they have, who's got a clear edge?
Palutena seems good with how active all her moves are and how hard they hit
It was spreading around pretty early on that Dante's voice actor in a facebook post was disappointed that DMC's creator wasn't contacted for him getting into MvCI, so it's likely the higher ups just jam packed everyone in without a thought.
Hot take; the worst leak that could happen is the list that Nintendo gave Sakurai to choose from for DLC getting out into the public. Finding out about content they were going to release anyways spoils the surprise but as Ryu and Lucas showed, getting leaked doesn't make playing as the characters any less fun and in the long term doesn't change anything. But finding out what could've gone in when all the candidates are popular well-known characters makes people upset about things they didn't know could happen.
iirc it was ryu and roy
You say that like it's a bad thing.
That move had some shenanigans in Smash4, I tell you
It's tragic to see it go
I feel pretty bad after being stomped by a friend's Palutena, he played her super defensively with a lot of counters and using that explosive light spell and I was utterly trounced. Felt awful to lose to that playstyle.
Try the classic "auto-reticle into explosive light and back" combo. a guy I faced had 2 million gsp and just did that the entire game.
all four marths tbh
