Yay!? Literally just got home and my game is taking forever to unlock!
Why is the game running at 60FPS but looks so choppy?
Can anyone tell me if they've fixed the brightness issue?
So it turns out my Gamestop lied to me. Shutters closed right as I got to the store.
Choppy stuttering or like a constant lag? Check the VRAM usage if it's stuttery, and check the refresh rate if it's like a constant thing visually.
Oh, it's the Vsync, it was making the characters move super jittery for some reason
why does the game still have a brightness issue from the demo
Setting the framerate from 'variable' to '60' fixed the weird stuttering for me with vsync still on.
I had a two year relationship end this evening and after spending weeks being super excited for this to release, I've not got the drive to play it. Good luck survivors. I love you all.
Jeez really having to debate hard between getting this or kh3 at launch. Had already caved and got ace combat 7. This has been a good end of the month for games it seems.
Decided to give this game a try since the demo seemed solid. Can't wait for the branching dialogue trees and diplomacy playthroughs since the zombies are just misunderstood~
Aw fuck, it's still in? Lame.
I feel like an idiot for trying. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/112325/4eb2ee66-df1d-40a8-9b63-32f9c6e93710/Replay 2019-01-24 23-52-07.webm
My RE4 instincts kicked in too seeing those so I don't blame you
holy fuck. The only experience I've had with RE2 was pat and matt playing through it as TBFP, back when their audio was crusty as shit. Being chased by Mr. Xis FUCKING TERRIFYING. He just doesn't relent!
God the Grenade Launcher sucks. Licker completely fills the crosshair, still manage to shoot it over the top and down the hallway. Also no longer 1-hit kills with acid rounds on lickers, so I'm pouring through what little ammo I can get for it.
Yeah, hearing his footsteps and other doors opening and closing is fucking intense. I stood in the STARS office for like 5 minutes debating on whether or not I should run out of there. "What if he's right outside" and "If I don't run now, he's gonna come in here eventually". I can only imagine how panic inducing Nemesis will be if and when they do an RE3 remake, especially since that motherfucker can run.
I've had a fire round 1 hit a licker. in the kennel of the Police Station. I also used the fire rounds on lickers like a crazy mother fucker when being chased by Mr. X, because fuck walking around to avoid detection there's literally bigger problems.
I'm unfortunately in the exact same boat. (Year and a half...) I feel with you..
Heads up, steam overlay often breaks your keyboard inputs. As if your keyboard is completely unplugged (Even though you can still pull up steam overlay, alt tab, all of that) It just completely kills the keyboard inputs in-game. I have NOT been able to get it to work again once it does it other than unplugging other control devices. But then when you run out of things to unplug and it happens you're fucked
WOW the VA for Marvin needs more work, he's fantastic
So, would you guys say that this is the definitive way to experience RE2, like how REMake 1 is the Definitive way to experience RE1? Also does the cut content take anything from the game?
I would say you still need to experience the Original and the Remake. The Remake is more like an entirely new game. It's not a replacement. There are some missing enemies so far, but also new ones. So for everything that was cut, there's something different in it's place.
That's disappointing, mainly for new players. They won't get to experience RE2 properly unless they play the OG. Whereas with Remake 1, you could.
I don't really see how that is a bad thing since both are very enjoyable games on their own. The OG still holds up very well and is not hard to get into. No reason not to play both.
True.
Man I'm currently stuck in this super hard spot where I have to do a lot of progress without any healing items or enough ammunition to take care of the enemies in my way. No ink left either. It's so freaking hard and I love it
I had that too in the demo, the little white/grey filter cum all over your eyes in areas where it's suppose to be true black? This is probably a case by case issue but I fixed that by fiddling with my monitor settings, I have a ASUS monitor and I've been playing on this monitor setting for so long I've just gotten use to it and never noticed anything wrong with it till I played the RE2 demo, I had a setting in the monitor with some shit called Smart View toggled on, I've no idea what that even does and I turned it off then boom, no more white/grey.
I can't get it until tonight, have fun for me lads Trying super hard to avoid spoilers but I just wanna see Hunk shoot zeds
I was going to post this last night, but went to sleep before actually hitting reply. Just got finished with about 2-2.5 hours of play; and this REmake is really, really, really, really great. And that's coming from a one of those old school RE purists that got mad when the game was first shown. Ended tonight with only positive feelings and I just want to wake up and play more. I didn't even encounter Mr. X, but the first Birkin encounter was really awesome and I think stands out as the best boss fight in a Resident Evil game in uhhh...well maybe ever. I like the bosses in the old games for a lot of reasons; usually because they're challenging, but the Birkin fight (On hardcore) felt a lot more engaging and fun to aim and benefits greatly from the new perspective. Plus his design in the RE2make is awesome. Started off on hardcore and I think anyone who wants the challenge shouldn't be afraid to start off on it. I died twice tonight and once was to the zombie at the start of the game, but it feels balanced to me once you realize how much more dangerous zombies are than normal. Just barely scraping by with enough ammo, like literally it feels like I have maybe what's left in my pistol at any time and maybe a couple bullets left to spare. Only lost like 10-11 minutes when I had to reload. Seems like the game will give you the opportunity to save and kind of signpost when bosses are coming up if the first one was any indication.
