I've had my usual "Christ!" Jump scares like when you fall through that balcony in the library but I never count those as scares, just startles. But my fucking heart almost beat out of my chest when I saw that fucker X b-lining towards me. I thought it was a scripted thing and that once I escaped or incapitated him he'd leave me alone for at least 20 minutes at least or until I made progress in the story. Then I see him stomp around the corner of a hallway after I wasted my grenades on Lickers and truly felt like this image https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/219240/1c76a392-444c-4a04-8a21-a555fbfda034/BxbNXwhCUAAWmIZ.jpg
I love this game, but I've come to the realization that I fucking suck at it. For the love of god I know I'm terrible, stop asking me to switch to easy mode game.
Just started a 2nd run with Claire, and FUCK, it's like 10 times harder than playing as Leon. I take shelter every time I go near a safe room just to catch my breath.
in my experience if you're walking they only attack when they physically touch you, in the kennels as Claire i was able to walk literally right by one. but i was on stairs so maybe the AI bugged out or something? each character always gets the same set of keys afaik, Leon always gets the clover key and Claire always gets the heart and diamond keys
Doing that on hardcore right now and it's intense as fuck. Killing zombies has become an impossibility because as soon as I fire a shot X bursts through a door and wants to beat my ass. And I don't even got the ammo to do so anyway. Don't even get me started on lickers. I'm loving it.
Was running away from Mr. X and ran face first into a licker. I just blasted it with a fire round and ran past, literally saying "I don't have time for you" as I ran.
I've had a few fuckfuckfuck moments with regular zombies, but goddamn lickers and GODDAMN mr X really. He's just one, but the stomps always being generally close to me whilenI run away...
What do you guys think is the easiest route/character to play to S rank a hardcore run? I just finished a S rank normal run as Claire route B and jeez by the end of the game I had wwaayyy too much ammo and full RBG healing. Will using a infinite weapon lock out a S rank? Because oh boy do I want to use the infinite pistol.
I'd take a guess and say Leon A.
are you supposed to have the extended mag before going into the sewers? i dont think i missed any notes with the clues
I found out i missed the shotgun. do you get a chance to grab it later in the game?
yeh you can get it later the chess piece puzzle seems a bit obscure, doesnt seem like it gives enough info so your not just brute forcing it
Route A of the puzzle wasn't all that bad, Route B had me just scratching my head going what.
I think the bottom waterway area of the sewer that leads to the supplies storage room may be one of the most forboding areas in a game. Just one look at it, and I was really hoping I wouldn't have to go down there.
I may have to give up route B. I could handle Mr. X in A because I knew what I needed to do and had a clear goal I could just run to. But now with B, I'm frantically wandering aimlessly with no clue where to go next. Having him around the entire time so early is too stressful to my cowardly heart.

Do you fight the tyrant on the elevator at the end or just avoid him? I barely made it past the other boss and I have almost no supplies and you have to run past a bunch of shit from the last save point every time you die so I'm getting a little frustrated.
Run away from him and shoot him in the chestonce he prepares his one shot kill charge.
Okay great, thanks.

Loved almost the entire experience outside of the Orphanage section but I hate mandatory insta-fail stealth sections. The sewers actually are what wrecked my shit and caused me to die the most.
Wish I could use the MUP pistol found in the model viewer
Shame there isn't an unlockable chainsaw. Like, an infinite knife is cool and all but they seriously missed out.
Alright so beating with Leon unlocks 2nd run Claire, do you play 2nd run or normal run first?
I've decided to go with 2nd Story. It's like the classic B scenario, you start off at a different place and the items are moved around. Makes it feel more fresh instead of redoing the same things as with the previous character. It also introduces Mr X way faster and everything's a little more intense.
normal first imo, 2nd run essentially skips the first hour and a half of the character's campaign while opening a bunch of shortcuts and totally changing the early game balance. also the character's pistol becomes largely nonviable for gameplay reasons and you lose all the dialogue with Marvin

claire b was surprising easy on hardcore, chiefs office and the fire shutter makes mr x almost entirely irrelevant which helps
Wait, what? How does the A/B thing work now?
I just did my first playthrough as Leon. All I want to say is I really enjoyed the playthrough from beginning to end. I'm glad that when they made this game they kept some iconic locations and gave us original RE fans a little bit of nostalgia. I'm even happier that they took the game and went with their own art direction. The game managed to take a lot of classic elements and re-invent them. I felt like I was fighting proper zombies - tanking shots, staggering, and when they actually reached you had the potential to be devastating. There was a point when I was expecting a headshot to just pop their head and the fucking thing tanked what felt like a whole mag. I learned after that I really need to pick and choose my battles carefully. Running around and backtracking through the different areas was actually fun and put me on edge at times. They really made the city feel huge and all the while making you feel alone. MR-X also managed to straight up scare the shit out of me. I ran around the police station backtracking for stuff in a panic when he came into the mix. I feel like overall it was a solid game, I was pretty surprised at how optimized the game was as well. I feel like this was really a love project for the devs.
is it just based on time? i got B rank on leon normal with 40 saves and about 7-8 hours should i play clair second run now or leon?
