Resident Evil Franchise Megathread V.1 "WHY'D HE BITE ME?!"

If you got the Deluxe Edition you can swap the music for the original. I'm disappointed that the save room music doesn;t stick around in the remake music , only last like 30 seconds and then goes away.
You can spend $3 to just buy the classic soundtrack, at least on Steam, as all the Deluxe content is now sold separately if you want to go that route.
I'm not entirely sure how to play this game. I finished Leons campaign, and now I get to choose between 2nd Run which is the alternative route that Claire did, but you can also play a new game with Claire, which is same route as the first game, but things are still different.
I have no idea what order to do things in at this point.
Whichever character you pick gets a sort of A route through the game, which changes certain things but mostly puzzles and enemy placement are what you're familiar with. 2nd Run has that character's timing with certain scenes change, mostly early on, and gives them remixed item and enemy placements as well as throwing you into the thick of it almost off the bat. Think of it less as story routes, even if there are some tweaks but nothing too major besides who does the true ending in 2nd Run, and more literal game routes as they follow the same general structure from a different angle.
Thank you for the help. I'm still not sure exactly -what- to do, but I suppose I'll do 2nd run with Claire and then do a new game with Claire, and 2nd run with Leon.
Put one or two rounds in their knee and they crawl around. Actually, you can blow a leg off, they crawl around. Blow off the second one, and they crawl even slower. Blow off an arm, and they're even slower still! I didn't bother blowing off the 4th arm, I spent enough ammo toying with that idiot as it was
They wiggle their whole body to move very, very slowly. They can still do a little flop to bite you if you're not careful though, getting a chunk taken out of your ankles will always hurt at least a bit.
Also I got past Birking G2. Turns out the problem is the longer you go without shooting him the more likely he is to charge, so just popping him a couple of times gets him to do the leap instead.
That said it still took around 80 submachinegun rounds to stagger him. Is his small eye on his back any weaker? I only shot it once.
Honestly after getting a Leon 1st/Claire 2nd run and the true ending, I have to say that for the story that's there, it's all pretty great, well-acted, and suffices for the plot lines besides both Leon and Claire kicking G3 Birkin's ass, and Annette dying in incompatible ways between both of their storylines like we're back to RE1 logic here - but there's a hell of a lot of context from the original game missing or turned into notes, and that burns my ass for some reason.
Wish there was a mode were you could play as Mr. X hunting people down. Like that one mode from RE6.
I would love if they added a Mercenaries/Raid mode to the game.
Gouki and Hunk make a fine power (knee) couple
Didn't they announce some weird gamemode to be released in March or something where you're able to play as almost every character in the game? Maybe that'll be this game's Mercenaries mode. Would be pretty dope.
Ghost Survivors, the details on it are still vague but we'll be able to play as characters like Kendo and Katherine, and there'll be a sort of shop system where you earn points through playing it for items and stuff. So i'm guessing it's going to be kind of Raid Mode style?
Will probably be the case, but it's not 'every' character, it's a specific roster of side characters with a procedural mini-run course, probably timed and ammo counted.
Beat Hunk's run, didn't think it was so hard, just a matter of figuring out which weapons to use where.
can i get an re6: 2 capcom, thanks

I didn't expect this game to terrify as much as it does, holy fuck. Mr X is genuinely terrifying, I feel like a hopeless prey
As much people are making memes about it, Mr. X is really the highlight of the game. Turning from a Scenario B only monster into a full "I'm here to take names" behemoth. Have fun dealing with him if you didn't properly cleared some hallways of monsters like I did.
It's weird because in this game Mr. X just fucking appears. No explanation not even a small one. At least in the original you see the helicopter with 6(?) containers and Mr. X dropping out of one of them into the Police Station.
I mean it's terrifying for people that have played the original but it's even worse for people that have never played the original because they don't know who or what the fuck this thing is only that it's chasing them throughout the entire building.
Is there any particular spot I should aim when trying to shoot off a zombies leg? I usually go for kneecaps, but it can still take 5-8 shots to get them to fall.
That doesn't sound right. It takes me 3-4 shots to take out their legs if I'm shooting the knees.
It's stuff like this that's made me think the remake works less as a replacement and more as a compliment to the original game. The plot's kind of like, "Diet RE2", and a lot of the exposition and scenes were turned into notes or flat out removed. Brian Irons especially gets hit with this; there's context for his character and a couple notes highlighting he's off of his rocker, but much of his character and context were completely reworked into something that barely touches on the context of the old game, so you need to play the original to get the full picture. Weird stuff like that.
Zombies have variable health and I'm pretty sure it shifts depending on how well you do. I've noticed that when I've got full health and a fair amount of ammo zombies take a while to take down, but when I was running around in Danger and had only 12 pistol rounds I was able to crit headshot multiple zombies.
Its on hardcore and honestly i have a ton of ammo and healing so maybe the game is just ramping up the difficulty.
RE1 Re-remake that plays and looks like RE2 Remake when?
REALLY not a fan of not being able to craft .45 ammo
