I used WAY too many resources on that and kind of fucked myself over for later. I made a separate save in case I've completely fucked myself but I'm trucking (slowly) though. Consistently having less than 20 handgun rounds and worrying about whether to use my gunpowder or save it for acid rounds is a little nerve racking.
I played so wrong at the first portion of the game. Wasted so much ammo trying to kill zombies rather than just crippling and running.
As much as I love Mr.X, he didn't give the same fear as Jack Baker. I guess that's because he's a silent 8ft tall colossus that you can often hear coming, while Jack is just human looking, uses an axe and yells at you, giving him more of a serial killer vibe. I wish he was more present in the game. So yeah, I played RE2 and I liked it. Claire's playthrough kicked my ass but I made it. I don't think I'm ready for hardcore mode yet.
you couldn't evade Jack nearly as easily iirc, but honestly that was more frustrating than anything. i prefer how X has slower movement speed relative to the player than Jack did but also has lunges and much longer range on his attacks - the movement feels much better, but now you have to actively dodge as you're being chased rather than awkwardly lumber around with Jack just not able to do anything.
I also liked Claire's dialogue more throughout the story. She keeps an air of absolutely done with the bullshit the entire game.
I loved Leon in this, despite not becoming the goofball that I had hoped for him to become. He just seemed like a really chill dude most of the time. Loved how he just went "Okay..." when Claire introduced him to Sherry in the end on the train.
What? No he can't. Maybe it depends on the save room but he never entered the film development one for me.
I don't expect they'd bother going through the effort of making it work but I'd like it if they eventually added a variation difficulty that allowed Mr. X to appear anywhere in the game and not just his set locations.
I kept expecting to hear a second shotgun blast.
Which doesn't make sense because it immediately ceases to be a safe zone when Marvin turns
I know there’s some room he can’t go in like the Clock Tower because there’s no alternate escape route for you, from what I believe. I think he does go into if he’s already chasing you but that’s probably because he punched me and I died when I was entering one. He won’t if he’s searching for you, still quite scary when you realize he’s outside patroling. Still, I’ve seen a couple of people lose their shit when they saw Mr. X just walk in like it’s nothing on the Police Station Main Hall.
He won't even enter that either. I've had him right on my tail and when I entered the door he stopped chasing and went into search mode.
I also feel like Leon is my spirit animal. Towards the end of the game when the self destruct timer is activated and Mr X flies down from the ceiling, I yelled out at my monitor "Are you fucking kidding me?" only for Leon to say almost immediately afterwards "Is this a fucking JOKE!?"
Is it just me or does Claire get all the cooler weapons?
There's nothing cooler than a good ol' shotgun
Someone already made a model swap of Red dress Ada replacing Noir Claire, though her facial animations are absolutely horrifying during cutscenes and animations of your character getting grabbed. This will oddly give me alot of replayablity for me.

I'm really digging the character design with the broken eye lens on the soldier.
I fucking suck at 4th Survivor. Just died to the Ivy's in front of the STARS office, can't deal with those fuckers without any flame weapons and I wasted all my secondary weapons getting up there in the first place.
>Who never made it out of the city Well that spoiled the ending thx capcom
Oh so that girl's corpse in the orphanage is the mayor's daughter?
Which room exactly?
The clocktower
Try to save your flashbangs or frags for that part, or knock out enough weak points till they are reeling and gtfo. The farthest ive made it in 4th survivor was the hallway to the chief's office.
Hmmm... yes seems that way. He won't go into Save Rooms and Clock Tower. Well, finally left the Police Station and when into the sewers. Man, they made the Giant Alligator more terrifying even if it's just an auto-scroller.
it's not that hard, you only have to hit a two or three of their weak points and then they're stunned more than long enough to run past. save your SMG for it if you're that bad of a shot the screenshots with the mayor's daughter and not-HUNK seem to be a totally new areas as far as i can tell, really wasn't expecting that
On normal I killed pretty much everything I ran into and never ran out of ammo. I don't know if this game has some type of adaptive difficulty, but sometimes it felt like the more ammo I had on me the more shots it took to actually kill stuff. When I was running low on ammo everything seemed to die faster. Might have just been luck though.
Now that I know you get an infinite rocket launcher for getting S+ on hardcore, I've been studying speedruns, trying to see if there's an easy way to do it, but god damn, it's gonna be tough. I wish I had a PC powerful enough to run this, because playing with a keyboard and mouse gives you a HUGE advantage, and if I gave up, I could just cheat.
Isn't the Mayor's Daughter area just the orphanagebut in reverse?
The soldiers in this game actually look really good
