So I beat The 4th Survivor, played Tofu, beat that after a few tries. After you complete The Tofu Survivor you get another treat you unlock Konjac (Flamethrower, Grenade Launcher, some frag grenades) and Uiro-Mochi (100% frag grenades)
Holy shit the plant monsters in this version are fucking more creepy than the original.
they remind me of the leech men from re0
They're very regenerador
This game about gave me a stroke. I was retrieving the jewelry box from the observation room, and I could hear Mr X stomping around outside, then he stopped so I figured he'd bounced. THEN HE STEPPED THROUGH THE WALL ON MY WAY OUT. I was screaming the whole time. On a brighter note, I've learned that: If you keep the interrogation room locked, and hop the glass, he'll wander off like he can't get to you. Cause he lost you.
In the RE universe there is a tailor going "what the fuck, why are they asking me to make a leather 50's suit for someone 8 feet tall"
I love Mr. X he's terrifying af although is he able to just teleport to you or at least knows where you are a lot of the time? It feels like no matter how quiet I remain it's like he's always homing in on me (on hardcore as well if that changes something) Maybe I gotta get good or something
On my initial playthrough I kept walking around and waiting for Mr.X to fuck off and I hardly encountered him, on my B playthrough I'd keep running around and occasionally shooting to clear out rooms, but it felt like just by running around he would bee-line towards you instead of just kinda wandering around searching and taking a while to find you
Mr. X seems to gravitate towards your general location no matter how loud or quiet you are, but how much he hones in on you specifically just depends on your subtlety. The game also does teleport him off-screen, it's especially evident if you take shelter in a save room for a short bit - so long as he has no reason to camp the door because you're not close to it, he'll walk off and then teleport around three rooms away to give you an opportunity to actually leave.
is there any definite say on what affects not being able to get S/S+ rank? i dont wanna bother trying yet until i know what will fuck me over
After doing 2 S+ runs I'd say it's only time taken and saves that affect the rating. And the use of infinite weapons, probably.
So, how do you lot feel about the altered story?
yeah i heard its limited to 3 saves, and that you cant use the unlimited ammo guns. people cant seem to agree on infinite knife though
You actually do hear a loud bang while going around before you actually see Mr. X. So it's there, just a lot, lot less obvious. Which I think works in his favour, really.
Someome got S with 15 saves so I dont think so
Based from speedrunners I've seen and personal experience, here's what I can confirm. S-Rank Standard: Scenario A = Under 3 hours and 30 minutes S-Rank Standard: Scenario B = Under 3 hours S-Rank Hardcore: Scenario A = Under 2 hours and 30 minutes S-Rank Hardcore: Scenario B = Under 2 hours for S+ Rank, same as above but you can't use the Infinite Guns rewards from getting S-Rank with the exception of the Infinite Knife and you are limited to 3 saves only

Pallets are his greatest weakness :V https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/452951455930777601/540149374844403722/pallets.jpg
From my experience, he loses your tail after you move through a couple rooms from him, and he goes into search mode a lot like the Alien from the Alien Isolation. He doesn't know where you are but if you stay in one place long enough he'll close in on you. If you shoot your weapons he'll start coming straight to where the sound was. Zombies screaming also alert him. And also sprinting through doors, possibly. Occasionally, though, he does secretly teleport. But it isn't a cheaty teleport so that he'll suddenly be in the next door you walk through. Sometimes, when that happens, it can glitch out, and then you'll have TWO Tyrants chasing you around
Do you remember when it happens because I don't recall hearing it on either playthrough.
I was thinking if that climbable box in the operations room would do the same with Mister X.
I just heard it just after getting out of Irons' office and before going to the helicopter, Claire 1st run. However, I think it might play randomly based on time, because I remember hearing it as Leon on my first playthrough while I was just exploring the RPD trying to get the bits to get to the goddess statue. It could also be entirely unrelated to Mr. X. Hard to say.
Not a clue, give it a try. Nemesis couldn't hit me as long as he was either infront of behind the pallets, but if he went to the side I don't have enough room even flat against the wall to not get hit by his punches.
I've already posted a couple mini-rants about it. The content that's there is good, heartfelt and pretty well done (besides Sherry's face, I can get over Claire's but not Sherry's). The problem is all the missing content and complete lack of context. Probably the third time i'll say this, but a number of these cuts make the remake feel like a compliment to the original game for fans, rather than a replacement like the first remake.
What's wrong with Sherry's face?
Of the faces to complain about... why the one that they specifically made to look like Sherry when she's older?
To me both Claire and Sherry look like their faces are layered on top of another face. Probably because the facial animation on both of them ranges from not great to pretty bad.
Finally finished Leon A scenario. Phenomenal game, and now going to play Claire B scenario to get the true ending. They better have the corny ass music at the end like the original. I personally see it as a re-imagination/reboot of RE2 rather than a replacement.
First time beating each 1st and 2nd scenarrio with each character. https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/943970013060389333/2BF5C6A9310693523F04D7401D2FA348E30CB35C/ I can definitely get the saves down to 3, but that S+ time limit is gonna be a challenge. After having played a ton of the new REmake; I still safely say it's one of the best Resident Evil games released in awhile, and is actually one of my favorite games released probably in the last 5 years. But still, a lot of stuff is missing from the OG that makes this fail to be the definitive RE2 experience like REmake was compared to the original RE1. I'd gladly pay for DLC that introduced a true A/B scenario for this game with new cutscenes, but I doubt we'll get that.
