I'm not much of a speedrunner, I wish there was another way to unlock some of the cooler items :/ Also the final fight took my like 8 tries because I blew all of my mag ammo on G3 like an idiot
My Leon A campaign was a nightmare. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/254440/59a160c5-4398-4670-b8a0-6d30f6ad476c/image.png I really mishandled the game and used a lot of bullets, also saved a ton like a pussy. Thought I did a lot of exploring yet I missed the magnum! Yet, I never got poisoned in my entire playthrough and had a ton of healing supplies by the end. Claire B is kicking my ass. I have a lot of handgun bullets but X is givin it to me hard and theres so many lickers that the two pistols suck against. I lost a good half hour-ish of progress from the game not autosaving and X kept blocking my save rooms. Im tempted to lower the difficulty so I can enjoy my time with the game more. RE2 original let you just murderize everything because you had a lot of ammo, same with RE7 while this game is ultra stingy in my opinion. Though, Im afraid lowering the difficulty will stop me from unlocking the alternate modes like 4th survivor...
If you're having trouble with Mr X on Claire B, here's some tip: Do NOT approach S.T.A.R.S. Office until the very last thing yo have to do is get the last Medallion in the West Storage Room.He won't show up at all until you trigger him. I did all of that and clear some rooms of zombies for when I have to go back to the Police Station for the electronic part.
I dont see anywhere to go but there and I have no medallions atm. Started a new playthrough so hes not triggered, got a grenade launcher which I didnt get my first time around - but so many areas are locked off cause you need the spade key. However, Im glad I started anew because I feel like an idiot for not grabbing the GL early - atleast that will help me clear paths.
Spade Key is in the same place as before so you should grab it and clear all the doors, again you want to have as much space as possible for when you come back so you don't get cornered by Mr X and have too many zombies roaming around. I'm having zero problems on my way to grabbing the electronic parts because i have som much free room that Mr X doesn't give me any problem, he's only a threat if you're in a room with zombies with him especially lickers. Don't recklessly waste the Flame Rounds, you'll need them for the Lab as they're your only fire weapon.
So, I did Leon A and Claire B without realizing that blue herbs give you a damage resistance buff, just did Leon B using blue herbs and fuck does that help a lot. https://i.gyazo.com/48ccd908bcd676ee0cd7b089b3950e6b.jpg For those here who have completed hardcore S+, is it reeeeeeeally worth doing to get the unlimited mini-gun or rocket launcher? Or is infinite samurai/Mac10 good enough?
It's not that they're necessary must-have items, especially since after you get them you don't really have anything else to go after other than the collectibles and personal speedruns while using said items. But they're fun rewards and a bragging right that you managed to fully master the game. Give it a go if you run out of stuff to do, it's pretty challenging and fun to go through.
ask yourself that question out loud, and you'll know the answer.
i mean to me, not really. the fun i get out of this game is playing it normally or being challenged. the most i want is the infinite ammo mp5
Speaking of; can you get the "dont use the item box" achievement using the infinite ammo weapons?
No, because you have to take those weapons out of the item box.
Sadly no as the infinite weapons are in the item box. It’s best if you leave the “no healinng” and “no item box” run for Assisted run since you auto-heal and that doesn’t penalize you. Enemies are easier and you can kill bosses with just the knife. Like G1 is piss easy in any difficulty if you go rambo on his ass and just knife him and Stun-Lock him.
Eh... you can deal with that section without Flame rounds pretty easily. I certainly did. SMG is your friend.
Alright. Thanks to both of you.
Well I mostly fear the ones in the hallway as the other you can avoid them easily. Is the Acid Round any good? I personally feel like the Flame Rounds is much, much better and rather use the White Gunpower for Sub-Machine Gun bullets.
Oh you meant for THOSE. I thought you meant for the pimple-bois. Acid Rounds work for them but I would usually Acid Round into magnum round.
Like in the old RE games, you got to get good enough where you don't really need the infinite RL/Minigun. The games are just like, "Okay, fine you beat me. Have this game breaking shit now". I hope to complete an S run today, but maybe I can swing it into an S+. Also, just purchased these keys off Etsy after seeing the keys that came in the EU collector's edition. I never knew how much I wanted actual RE keys. I'll include a customer's picture since I just placed my order today. Is it just me or is Leon's campagin a lot harder than Claire's? I feel like Leon's shotgun should either do more damage or have more ammo lying around.
Was the opposite for me, Claire was wall to wall bullshit and Leon was home alone zombie edition.
His weapons across the board are shit compared to Claire's. The GL alone is better than anything Leon has. I did my Claire B run after Leon A and was just blown away how much easier her path is because of the better weapon choices. About the only time I thought Leon had a better loadout was the literal start of the game when Claire's pistol takes forever to reload—after that it's no contest. If I could I'd trade Leon's shotgun and flamethrower for the GL.

I just had a limbless zombie stunlock me, wtf. I was trying to get past him by running along the wall but that ended up getting me killed. He took a chop like every half a sec and everytime my character stumbled but of course since I was already up against a wall, no distance was made between each stumble and I went from fine to dead in like 3-4 secs.
I miss the old Ivy.
it's because once a zombie loses its arms it also basically loses its attack animation, so iirc it just continually bites at the air and does as much damage as a proper grab attack but with less than half the frames. it almost feels like an oversight just how ridiculous they can be in this state, if you get stuck on something they can totally stunlock you in no time.
The new ones are just fucking boring, honestly. They're set up to be the game's Big Spooky like the Crimson head but I literally never had one grab me. Either I unload into their heads with the SMG and they stop moving, or the flamethrower cuts them down.
Anyone been playing that RE2 boardgame? Friend of mine got the full £200 edition so we've been having weekly sessions. Been pretty fun so far, never mind my terrible luck on the rolls.
The designs of G are just fucking beautiful, especially G-5 like holy shit it's so gnarly
I love all the designs, but I can't get over how G3 has like 6 left arms sticking out of it.
You know, I've died way more often to zombies in tight corridors than to literally anything else. By comparison, Mr. X and the bosses are easy to handle.
