The problem is that 2nd run has you using 45 rounds exclusively, and not being able to craft those really, really sucks
I saved one grenade for that part. The ones in the hallway is easy to deal with but those are scary especially when you have an G-Adult nearby. Nope, I think that M1911 or how it's called is for Leon B scenario.
second is with the container? the arena contains a flashbang you can knock him off in one go, you could go in with an empty inventory and defeat him
doing claire's B run really makes me miss leon's arsenal her pistols fucking stink. all of them. they're all slow and weak, and even the JMB Hp3 failed to take down TWO zombies with 12 rounds' worth of headshots. sure, the high-powered rounds for the SLS are about as good as the lightning hawk, but you can't even craft them!! the grenade launcher is slow as fuck and i've had flame rounds not even 1HKO normal zombies. acid rounds are absolutely useless. the SMG does fuck all damage. have fun using a whole clip's worth of headshots to kill 1 zombie. the spark shot might as well not even exist with how much it sucks. the ammo for it is insanely limited, but it can't even 1HKO zombies despite leaving you vulnerable for ages. i've been having an absolutely miserable time. it's funny how the ammo for all of her "powerful" weapons is super limited but they're all worse than leon's standard shotgun
Couple of tips for some of the boss fights: G1: As soon as the fight starts, get close to him and knife him. Just keep at it and when he changes to his second phase, throw a flash grenade and keep slashing. He'll go down easily, if not one or two clips of handgun will finish it. G2: Just dodge and use the container. You don't need to waste any bullets at all aside from the first phase where you're stuck in the room. G3: The toughest one. Don't be afraid to use everything that you have. Claire's Final Boss: Use the Minigun that they give you nearby and ONLY shoot when you see the eyes. All the other time use your other guns. Leon's Final Boss: Unload everything that you have and/or survive for 3 minutes, the rocket launcher will drop by then. If you circle by him from his left side, you won't get hit as he only use his right arm to attack.
The M1911 is a Leon B thing, I think.
Oh I agree completely. I just get the zombie to the ground and knife them to death.
I honestly stopped going for headshots and just starting taking off their limbs, like Dead Space
thought you mean the first birkin encounter. I don't know about the second, haven't ever gotten to that part with no ammo in my inventory.
I have to disagree with people saying Claire's arsenal is worse than Leon's. Claire's pistol does way more damage than the Matilda and it steadies faster between shots. It can also be upgraded into a magnum, meaning you have two guns for only 1 inventory slot. The grenade launcher isn't as good against regular zombies like the shotgun, but the acid rounds literally melt zombies. Fire one at the legs of a group and you can make them all relatively harmless in one shot, the acid also staggers bosses and slows them down, letting you get shots in easier while the small DoT tickles their eyeballs. The flame rounds make lickers and ivys into pushovers. There aren't many flame rounds in the game but if you use them wisely you won't need that many. On my regular mode run I got over 30 flame rounds, which is more than enough if you aren't wasteful. The roles of the grenades has essentially flipped from what they were in the original game, where you wanted flame rounds against zombies and acid against bosses. Now you want acid against zombies and flame for damage. The SMG is bad at killing zombies but it's great at disabling zombies, since zombie limb removal seems to be based on number of hits rather than damage you can sever zombie limbs with bucket loads of ammo left over. The SMG is also good to just unload into bosses when they're in recovery animations. The Zapper is a really powerful weapon but it takes a while to get used to. Against regular zombies the fully charged burst can kill outright and it's pretty good again bosses, if you can get the time to use it. The semi-auto pistol Claire gets suck ass though, don't even bother with it. Leon's arsenal is much more direct. The shotgun can one hit any zombie if you get a decent headshot and makes proactive room clearing more viable, and the Matilda once fully upgraded is a beast. But then you have the Magnum, which is no better than Claire's magnum upgrade save for holding two extra bullets, but takes up 1 to 2 extra inventory spaces, and the flamethrower which doesn't stagger for shit, takes ages to kill anything, and feels like it does nothing to bosses. I killed G3 Birkin with it and it took over 600 fuel, I took him down with Claire and it took about 50 handgun bullets, both on Hardcore.
Why is everyone hating on the spark shot? It felt really useful to me. Floors pretty much everything if you do a full charge. Sure, the enemies may survive every now and then but it buys you enough time to gtfo and you don't waste any of the more precious ammo.
SMG also gets the silencer which is great for taking out zombies quietly to avoid lickers. Plus they throw ammo at you for it constantly.
Apparently people are claiming that it doesn't matter where you shoot a zombie, head or limbs alike you're doing the same damage and it's all weapon-based on top of the zombie health being inconsistent. Headshots are just chances for critical instant kills.
Headshots and limb shots also have a fairly high chance to stagger, which makes them better than torso shots. If you're just shooting a zombie to kill it then the chest is as good as the head, but limbs are better since removing a limb can practically neutralise a zombie. Though you probably want to kill zombies in areas you'll be heading through a lot, like the library.
Oof Finished the 4th Survivor with 10:30 This mode is hard as balls I won't even speak about the tofu
Well, besides the double-arm removal mentioned a couple pages ago, which apparently makes the bastards capable of lunging so fast they can stunlock you to death.
When I say limbs I generally mean legs. No point shooting a zombies arms off and let him keep walking about.
Got throught these dog, and now i'm on the colored windows thingy with the crow that keep attacking you.
taser gun that one shots any single non-boss enemy if you hit the weak point, which means you don't have to make acid rounds which means you can use the smg just for bosses.
Got the next thread all ready and set up to go once this hit's the limit. Thought i'd give you guys the heads up!
i don't get why people think the SMG sucks, with the suppressor the recoil is so absurdly low you can empty the whole mag on the same exact spot and kill lickers and g-creatures in no time, and it also consistently slices zombie legs in like 3-4 rounds. sure that leaves Claire without a great boss-killer but it's still a really good weapon
Well the only real boss threat for Claire is G3. Everything else can be cheesed.
Hoo boy. I beat The 4th Survivor on my second try with barely and health left, I died the first time in the library because I thought I could climb the ladder. Got to the lion statue room before the library as Tofu too. How the fuck are you meant to get through all that bullshit with only knives?

When they burst open the door, you can slip past them by being right at the door. I-Frame at it's best.
2nd
Claire doesn't get the 1911.
Oh yeah forgot she get banfanhammer.
I should be getting the RE2 remake soon after playing through the demo a few times and loving it, so I figured I should go ahead and finally finish the RE1 remake. I haven't gotten far but man, it feels good to play a survival horror game with those old school tank controls and fixed camera angles again. It's rare that I feel tense or even scared by survival horror games these days but RE1 has such great atmosphere and the prohibitive item management has me feeling tense as all hell. Anyway I'm playing it through an emulator and I'm thinking about getting the HD version alongside Resident Evil 0 HD so I can play it on my native resolution. Are they worth it? I don't really care about the revamped controls, I'm pretty used to tank controls by now. It's gonna suck having to use those damn ink ribbons again, though.
