Resident Evil Franchise Megathread V.1 "WHY'D HE BITE ME?!"

I know this is pretty late but if there's a game that did it right, it was Dead Rising 3. Nick starts of as a really timid guy, and would make ambient comments that show he's barley holding on ( phrases like "Oh shit no no, get away !" If you run into a horde and "That was close!" If you escaped) but as you leveled up and progressed to the story, Nick got confident enough that he'll start taunting zombies ("C'mon!" "Let's do this!" Etc) and it shows in story to the point he's taunting a character who earlier pushed him around while laughing and dodging his attacks.
It's probably one of my favorite forms of character progression
that one zombie lady playing dead at the top of the stairs really surprised me
I honestly blazed through the demo because it was timed, and most zombies couldn't really deal with headshots very well, going down in a few bullets.
Not her though. She took like 7 bullets or something, and she still stood up.
I like the idea that zombies have varying levels of health, would definitely keep you on your toes on whether or not facing down a zombie is a good idea
Definitely a console concern with procedural damage, procedurally blended anims and lots of fx, esp for the scenes with several zombies.
Some new images were released. Some of them show weapons we haven't seen yet for this game. Also for some reason chopsticks. I'll link in case folks don't want to be spoiled.

Sounds great as a bit of a wild card that comes out of nowhere. A few zombies swarm you, you'll shrug them off because they are easy, but then you shoot one a good few times, waste a good few bullets at the very least, possibly get in trouble when they don't go down...
Yeah, I'm gonna love this thing. I can't wait to see how the original soundtrack will fit in.
I love how detailed Tofu is, considering it was just a white box in the original.
The beret hat added to the actual playable model is a cute touch too
On the REMake demo. Anyone used the unlimited time thing that has been going around? I want to go through again and try to find and solve puzzles since 30 mins is definitely not enough
Yeah it works. You will need to make a new account though if you already used up all your 30 minutes. Though just a heads up, some puzzles are unsolvable since they have to go beyond the cutscene at the end of the demo. But you can still definitely find a lot of other neat stuff and solve some light puzzles.
I should still have like 2-3 minutes since I finished a little early. hopefully that works
One thing that bums me out about the lore of Resident Evil is how they went out of their way to make sure that crimson heads were always going to be exclusive to REMake
I think the one I was thinking of, and assuming everyone else was, is this one.

It's the outside staircase that connects the 1st and 2nd floors of the R.P.D. It's a brief little detour outside where you can hear the zombie's moans.
And I'm glad they are. crimson heads are the one thing that make me hesitant to revisit REmake. It's too much to keep track of. "Gotta make sure I have enough kerosene." "Gotta make sure these two zombies die exactly on top of each other so I can burn them both at once." I fucking hated it.
Ah yea I remembered that later.
The background seems to be just complete dark, with nothing else, and it just makes it more obscure, and you can hear messed up shit there.
While I really liked the demo, and will get the full game. Part of me is sad that we don't get a REmake style faithful RE 2 remake.
The RE2 sections in RE0 just look so damn good.
Boy oh boy does Revelations 2 feel like a sloppy port to PC with how pretty much everything awkwardly orients itself into movement that would better fit an analog stick than WASD.
I touched Revelations 2 for 10 seconds before picking up a controller. The game feels awkward with kb&m.
RE0 has probably the best backgrounds of all the games.
I really like the fact this game does what Dead Space kinda failed to do, which is give dismemberment an actual point.
In Dead Space you had to go for the limbs because that dealt the most damage and most enemies would end up dying after you shot their arms or legs off. It became an automatic process and besides adding thematic flavor it didn't do much to actually improve the gameplay all that much. In the RE2 demo enemies are tanky and refuse to stay down unless their head has been blown clean off. Kneecapping a zombie to make it fall so you can run past thus becomes a very welcome and viable solution.
It also feels a lot more fresh than simply making the zombies either completely avoidable or killable if they're in the way, by giving you a mix of both.
It's a shame that it happens to be my least favorite of all the classic RE's. I think I've only beat it once my whole life back on the Cube.
Looks like the special edition was released a bit early. I'm afraid that spoilers might drop soon.

I know RE2 is over twenty years old, but I'm mostly labeling spoilers because this game still has new content we haven't seen before. I know I've been doing this a lot, but I'll continuing labeling them as such to not spoil those who want to remain surprised.
SINGLE ACTION ARMY IS BACK BAY-BY WOO
Time to once again play as Revolver Redfield
So which route are you guys going to take first on your first playthrough.
Claire or Leon.
Think i'm gonna do claire first because i've heard from the original that her route is the hardest.
Claire first then Leon just to match up my first playthrough of the original RE2 as well.
