Resident Evil Franchise Megathread V.1 "WHY'D HE BITE ME?!"

I enjoyed speedrunning RE7. It blew my mind how quickly I could get through it on my other playthroughs.
Oh don't get me wrong, I adore the shit out of RE7, but there are a few things (Like replacing the entire mines section and creating more enemy types) That would push it to easily one of the best horror games period
RE7 was great, but yeah the lack of enemy variety was a bit of a bummer. Seeing as to how the Bakers have a barn it would've been great to see some evil molded cows or something. Even the cut family dog would've been neat.
RE7 felt like they were experimenting with a bunch of stuff while hesitating to go too far and hopefully see what sticks, especially after the not-so-stellar reception the previous games had before RE7. It is a great game but it looks like the stuff that were lacking in RE7 is now being addressed in RE:2 Remake with what they learned, and I'm excited to see what's in store for future titles as well.
Personally I hope RE8 keeps the first person control scheme. I feel like it suits the way darker tone 7 sets up from here on out.
RE7 played it too safe for me to keep interest in the full game, honestly.
I really hope the upgraded shotgun makes a return in the RE2 remake, and that they keep it faithfully as an absurdly powerful overkill (especially vs zombies)

RE7 is difficult for me because it's a great direction to take RE in, but as a game, especially for this series, i feel there's barely anything to it. there's 3 enemies, only a handful of weapons and none of them feel very good, not a lot of areas, not a huge amount in the way of files or setpieces (that i can remember), no particularly good minigames (none at all in the base game), and just a couple unlockables.
honestly i think if it actually came out in the time it's emulating, people would put it on the level of like 0 or Outbreak, or probably lower. still glad it got made though
Eight days, babes.
Good news, it does. You can use trainers to get it in the demo, I used it.
How do ya'll feel about the chatty-er leon?
super green rookie-cop leon is growing on me.
I think it's pretty spot on. I'd probably be saying the same stuff if I was in his situation

Pretty sure I said this word-for-word today
I love it but part of me hopes that by the he'll become a fucking goofball over the course of the game so we can get amazing quotes like this one

I didn't mind the final mine section in RE7, i feel like the faster, more action oriented pace was fit the objective you have in the endgame, compared to just having to "survive".
I just wish the final boss was more of an actual fight rather than a scripted quicktime cutscene, but thankfully Not A Hero makes up for that.
The RE2 remake, is it worth making a new account to try the unlimited timer?
I feel like RE4 leon molded my snark into what it is today
Nearly every time I turn down an offer from my friend, I go "No thanks, bro"
It's over miniscule shit like being offered a soda or something
Apparently getting blue balled by women who are genuinely interested in you but refuse to be with you makes you a snarky bastard
thanks for the tip Leon
Can't wait for old Ada and Leon to finally settle down together in RE9.
Honestly, given the RE franchise.. it's a legitimate question to ask.
No seriously why is RE such a sexless universe. No one fucks.
Probably because everyone that would fuck are either too focused on the job, on opposing sides, or die horribly from yet another bioterror incident.
due his PhD in microbiology, Luis Sera remains the only person to have ever discovered that women have balleestics
Every night Leon stands in front of his empty bed and asks himself "Where'd everybody go? Bingo?" then he sleeps alone with his Red9
A RE game with leon's kid who is even snarkier and takes nothing seriously because their dad already lived all this shit would be amazing.
The most japanese game series ever. Work ethic is more important than relationships.
I think I remember them saying during a dev stream that there won't be any form of mercenaries or raid mode for RE:2 Remake, but I hope they consider down the line, the gore system is just too good to pass up for something like it. If not hopefully they'll reserve it for an RE:3 Remake complete with Operation Wild Jackal Mercenaries
I wish they'd just make a dedicated Raid game.
Thinking about it; this could work extremely well. Makes sense in the context of the RE universe that Leon would prepare his son for the worst; fucking bio-hazard incidents happen all the time in their world. Growing up having been trained by his father and being ready mentally and physically to combat some weird freaky shit. That kid would take it all in stride.
I think I'd want Mikami back on board; kind of like a spiritual follow up to RE4 but that's not really necessary, just me daydreaming about this hypothetical game.
