I don't see any way to get them back to vanilla, is there a fix anywhere?
Vorts can already use guns if you equip them with one in GMod, or at least they did in older GM13 versions. IDK if Garry ever fixed it, but they would intermittently rattle a burst out of a gun protruding from their sternum like the Dancin' Dudes in Wolfenstein while hurling out laser beams at enemies. I always thought it would be neat as shit if someone could animate it so they'd use their little chest arm to shoot shit.
Also in MMod it seems like there's a lot of missing animations during the scripted sequences. I get soft-locked when Alyx rescues Gordon so I have to skip ahead.
Never had any issues like that.

thats strange. certain weapons do the "css aug zoom" like the smg. but both of the pistols use regular ironsights

Most of the weapons don't have proper ironsights because of the classic "only one side of the weapon is modeled" issue, according to the dev. People didn't like the inconsistency so he made the pistol ironsights the same as the rest of the weapons in the latest patch.
Yeah just checked the patchnotes, was removed. No big deal but that was confusing the hell out of me.
You can try replacing the cloth sounds with a blank sound file. Might work, cannot make any guarantees because I'm not 100% sure that's where the noise comes from. I'd investigate for you but I have to get going, if nobody's figured it out by tomorrow I'll look into it.
That's a problem the author is confused by. He's using HL2 Update as a basis (though as an option you can play vanilla HL2), and he's not changing any of the map scripting there, but this breaks at random for seemingly no reason. Reloading a save or even killing yourself and going back to the last autosave can fix it but it could just break in a different spot. The problem's not there in normal HL2 Update, either.
Don't HL2, Episode 1, and Episode 2 all use separate compiles of the same Alyx model with different animations for the scripted sequences? i could easily see this happening if the game happened to load the wrong one.
I love these things, is there a way to binge watch all of them? They're all unlisted on your channel, and searching your posts doesn't do a lot of good either because so many of them were lost (Result Hidden - No Permission) when Garry closed the Valve Games forum.
Yes, but its not just alyx's sequences, for some reason Barney wouldn't yell "hey Gordon" at me, on my first play-through.

Once tweaked to my liking MMod was just the nudge I required to play through HL2 again. I really dig the explosions, the mod is worth it for them alone.

For the uninitiated, what are we looking at here? Seem like a regular uv map.
I think it's the fact that the uv island in the mid-bottom right corner has the same shape as the cropped part of the texture, but it's not properly scaled and aligned to it for some reason.
Ah I see now. I wasn't 100% sure because it just seemed too dumb to be the case and I was overthinking it.
They did use a lot of auto UV and basic unwrap tools. It's not surprising when there's errors, but that's something else.

Alright I got you. Sorry I wasn't able to do it yesterday.
The earlier versions had full ADS but it was really clunky to use, so he just scrapped it for a FEAR style zooming effect. I like it better personally.
