Kabal's backstory seems to contradict his actions in MK9. This makes me think the Kabal in the story is going to be from an alternate timeline.
We knew he was TER since MKDay, but interesting enough the bios page is now a 404. I think this was a mistake.
Looks like this Kabal is pre MK9 but they retconned him to give him his powers early?
It has to be straight up retcon, his default skin is him as Rvenant from when Sindel killed him.
I guess maybe he sold them out but stuck around in the dept. and nobody, including Stryker, knew?
I'm sure in the story it will make more sense. Though they changed a lot in the change from original timeline to NRS timeline, generally they haven't been retconning their own stuff.
I remember that in MK9: Kabal was healed by Shang Tsung's magic and Kano's augments. Kano tried to convince him to re-join the Black Dragons but got rejected, which led to him joining Team Earthrealm.
Given the MK11 is dealing with time travel shenanigans, it could possibly be an(other) alt-timeline Kabal that still works for the BDs.

I can't seem to figure out how to properly amplify any of the moves. Scorpion's fire-breath seems useless without it.
Well give the time travel mechanic to the story it wouldnt be too far a stretch. Question is whether they get the starpower for it.

Surprisingly got into the stress test, and I'm having loads of fun. I really like what they did with the gameplay, more footsies based instead of insane pressure all the time like MKX. My only real issue, and a lot of people have said this already, it feels like forward dashing may as well not exist. Back dashing is fine, but having no real forward dash and no run button makes getting in a little annoying, I find my self jumping a lot more than needed and leaving my self open to easy uppercuts cause I have no other way to get in.

I don't really like how their head kind of just disappear when she smashes it. It's especially jarring since they did it on Kotal of all characters who's wearing a big, fancy ass helmet that just bamfs out of existence.
Think they should have planned out this reveal a little bit better.

I kinda get what they were going for though, if the sinister/consipracy theorist part of my brain is to be believed: the idea that they advertised it as Kotal's simply because "Jaqcui Reveal Trailer" wouldn't bring in as much hype (Kotal's fanbase is bigger than Jacqui's let's not kid ourselves).
Then surprise! It was a showcase of Jacqui kicking ass all along! And now it's too late: you've already watched it.
I hope the cyber legs Jacqui has become full on robot legs during the story, I feel like I woulda been way more accepting of her initially if they led with the whole "female jax but it's legs instead of arms" concept back then
