I think this video best shows the full look on the game's graphics https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxDyUXd7xCw The particle effects are fucking gorgeous and I like how the character designs and overall color tone are more closer to MK9 than MKX as I felt like the designs and color of MKX made a lot of costumes blend too well with each other to truly stand out.

Feels like getting royally fucked wanting to play this on switch and PC the switch is the only version without a premium edition, and PC with NRS is a gamble as is but to get the beta I'd have to put a $5 deposit on PS4 and play it on that and cancel if I wanna see that sweet sweet beta I just wanna play on the platform I'm most likely to use + portable option with switch can't wait for this game
I'm really hoping they priorities 60 fps on the Switch. They managed to do it back with MK9 on the PSVita but it looked like ass graphically (obv): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYBhag0oj1U
were there vita games that didnt look like that though
skullgirls looks pretty good on vita (even though it takes a year to load every match) but i'd happily take the shitty graphics to play modern fighting games on the bus or on the go

Super interesting, seems like they're entirely breaking away from the usual "build meter to do supers" and going with a more simplistic moba-like system where everything has a time cooldown. I personally have very little in-depth knowledge of MK as a competitive game, but I can definitely vouch that it's one of the more beginner-friendly and bombastic fighting game series, so it kind of makes sense they'd take that direction. I'm curious how the new system, especially the Fatal Blow, will be received competitively.
is this a joke because skullgirls is drawn sprites
You asked and I answered. If you want to play semantics you're more than welcome to go on reddit.

Shiver Entertainment has been revealed to be the ones handling the Switch port, and there's some misinformation going around about them: https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/aicyoe/shiver_entertainment_the_team_porting_mortal/
I'd happily take meat being back, as long as he gets his wrestler variation
But why that when we can have pro wrestler Hsu Hao back?
Hsu Hao is Hsu Hao. Meat could be anybody. He could even be Meat.
I thought that was Shang Tsung's thing.
I hope Dvorah makes it back.
Kotal is my main want, followed closely by Erron. Also if you don' think Ash from Evil Dead is a perfect guest DLC spot then you're wrong. We don't need any more silent horror movie monsters
why is sheeva on a joke list >:(
Skullgirls has loads of frames of high res sprites, to the point where it's not uncommon in the 7th gen console versions to see pop-in when switching out characters. The Vita version could have ended up pretty bad looking.
Some news on that as of a few hours ago Mortal Kombat 11 producer talks about the game's Switch version,.. GR: MORTAL KOMBAT HASN’T BEEN ON A NINTENDO PLATFORM SINCE ARMAGEDDON IN 2007. HOW IS THE SWITCH VERSION OF MK11 COMING ALONG? TT: I actually really like the Switch build. I like the Joy-Con controller more than I thought. We’re trying to reach as many people as we possibly can. So we’re going to take that opportunity. GR: BUT THAT OPPORTUNITY COMES AT A COST SINCE IT ISN’T AS STRONG AS THE OTHER SYSTEMS. HOW DO YOU “DOWNGRADE” IT WITHOUT SACRIFICING ITS CORE OR FRAME RATE? TT: There are special geometry reductions that happen to make it work on the Switch. The end product is actually really fantastic. We’re actually not developing it in house; it’s being developed by Shiver Studios. They’re developing it at the same time as us so it’s sort of a co-development. There is no lead SKU.
To be fair, Ashrah was pretty cool and has potential (if Tremor and Skarlet can be made cool, most characters can). Given her background though, her chance was probably in MKX along with Fujin. I wouldn't mind Daegon returning to murder his comatose brother and be a cool crime boss, it'd get that Armageddon stuff out of the way.

Im honestly going to be disappointed if the Switch version is going to be more based off of the mobile version.
https://www.gamespot.com/articles/mortal-kombats-ed-boon-tells-us-how-fatalities-are/1100-6464545/ major highlights: What else have you learned in terms of customization, gear, and maybe microtransactions? A lot. Like with Injustice, that was heavily focused on gear and changing gear. Players constantly getting rewards and stuff like that. And we're certainly trying to separate the visuals of what the gear looks like to what it actually does. Because with Injustice, they were kind of married together. You got a mask or something, it did A, B, and C. In Mortal Kombat 11, you just get the visual mask and then the player programs what it does. So it's really kind of separating the visual and the gameplay. That was one of the lessons that we learned from Injustice 2. Any comment on what microtransactions will look like in MK11? Yeah. Well, I guess you know, we absolutely divorced gameplay from any kind of advantages you could get. We really wanted to have it so you can't buy your way to a better character. And honestly, for this game, we're veering away from [that], we're not gonna have loot boxes or anything like that. So, that's big--it's more of an industry direction than it is a fighting game or Mortal Kombat direction. I think the loot boxes worked fine in Injustice because it didn't affect the gameplay and whatnot. But at the same time, we're just kind of steering away from it.
If you expect anything comparable to what's going on with the other releases with the switch you're setting yourself up for disappointment. It's going have to be big compromises that you'd feel present in some way no matter what route they take. Doom was capped at 30fps with a noticeable graphical downgrade and dips in crowded rooms, and that's a game from 2016.
doom is fine and MKX mobile is a f2p tap and swipe em up, its not going to be the switch version
This seems interesting. https://twitter.com/KomboBreakerZz/status/1087718951931514881
Hopefully something more substantial like actual choices rather than just picking one of two fighters like it is in IJ2. Choosing whether to kill someone preferably.
