Unlocks are online only lol You cant unlock frost or get any gear without being connected to the internet

I gotta say, I'm not really sold on the guest characters, because I don't have much history with them, but seeing Shang Tsung, Nightwolf and the Joker in there makes me think twice about not getting the kombat pack. I'm interested to see their skins, gears, and abilities. Also, I'm sure that last one will have some banging fatalities!
Rapid fire questions on GI said you can unlock stuff offline but it will check in online and verify you earned it, and only certain modes are playable and they only have certain rewards in those modes
Oh I guess that gives me more of a reason to keep playing story mode then. Is Shao Kahn confirmed to also be an unlockable down the line? Or is he DLC only?
Highly doubt he’s unlockable. We’ve had unlockables that can be bought before but never were they preorder bonuses

That's gonna suck for Switch players, as many people use it as a portable and won't be online all the time. Checking for authenticity of unlocking and some modes only being online is not looking good.
Shao Kahn is purchasable separate for 5.99 right now as far as I can tell and the games not launched

so i've been playing mortal kombat x, which is my first mortal kombat game ever (and probs my first time playing a fighting game like this) and i guess its fun but, how do i get good? like the first couple of story fights have completely destroyed me even on normal, any time i pull off something reasonably decent it just feels like luck.
I'm playing on PC but using a controller, I'm assuming thats recommended? I keep accidentally jumping all the time because tilting the thumbstick up even a little just flings you in the air, its hard to get used to lmao

D-Pad is usually the way to go when you're playing a fighting game with a gamepad. Otherwise you might actually find it better to play with a keyboard (it's similar to playing with a fight 'stick' called a Hitbox where it's all buttons). The rest is just practice really and try to avoid bad habits. Story will get you a good starter for most of the characters since you'll be switching around them often. Outside of it, do a few arcade runs or try to get comfortable with some basic combinations in training mode. A lot of it is really adapting against your opponent and having a good set of moves to go against them.

Also one of the dialogues he has with Kabal has had me laughing my ass off.
Kabal: "Stealing my soul won't make you faster"
Shang Tsung: "Actually, that is precisely how it works"

something similar allegedly happened with Enchantress, which was added as a playable dlc later on.
Wouldn’t surprise me. It feels like the push for Havik happened fairly recently, so maybe NRS quickly switched gears with him. Hope so, at least.

How will Terminator work in regards to fatalities? He has no internal organs, so he has no brain for Baraka to eat for example..

It’ll just end with a slowmo shot of Baraka shattering his teeth on a hard drive.
I mean, they could always take liberties with his design and have him have organs, cybernetic or otherwise.
On the plus side, at least they won’t have to worry about making facial expressions for him when he’s on the receiving end of fatal blows, fatalities, or really anything. Thousand yard stare across the board lol.
Something similar to Triborg in MKX, my guess, with liquid fluid and artificial hearts, brains and whatnot. Of course it'll look super off if one of his alt design is the basic T-800 Terminator model.
