Shang Tsung's Ermac morph uses the same face as Ermac's corpse in the Krypt. Between his total redesign and the klassic ninja pack containing only three (of seven) skins, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw at least one returning ninja in Kombat Pack 2.

MKX's first pass had the Predator, then the second pass had the Alien adapted for the setting.
I think the first pass will have Terminator and the second could have Robocop, but adapted for the setting.

I feel like all of these crossovers here had more public popularity than the shortlived 1993 comic crossover of Terminator/Robocop I just discovered.
Terminator also had AvP and Superman crossovers. One of Spawn's villains is in the Guardians of the Galaxy because of rights transfers when Neil Gaiman left Image for Marvel.
You could run around in circles with these comic crossovers but I kinda think we'd be grasping at straws without any hints or evidence that any of them were a possibility.
Even aside from the apparently-more-obscure-than-I-Thought-it-was crossover, the guest pairs in MKX had a shared theme. Space horror, slasher horror, while Terminator and Robocop could share the famous robot themed 80s movies theme. Though I guess that's thrown out by Ash and Joker not really sharing something, assuming that parts real. Though I guess he'd share something with Spawn in being a comicbook character.
Evil Dead and Bruce Campbell have been talking about a new game being made among other projects, and so far guests have had ties to something

Freddy Kruger had a fresh reboot around MK9, Jason came as he was a heavy fan request during MK9 due to Freddy vs Jason, but even he had a video game coming out the same year
Alien and Predator had movies in production
Leatherface had a movie in production.
I have looked it up and apparently a new Robocop movie actually is in production.
slasher theme doesn't count between the KPs IMO since MK9 had a slasher/horror character as well. Even less so when you consider most of them shared screen space with another

Yeah I finally found it. There's also a robocop KFC ad campaign that started in February. Thank god. A Halloween-esque re-sequel sounds great. 2014 was okay to watch but felt like they did it dirty.

I honestly didn't know about it at all until today and I'm kinda interested to see how it goes.
I mostly had the Robocop idea as a sorta fun way to bring Stryker back while also doing a guest, kinda like how the Alien half-brought Baraka back.
If Joker is true, I'm going to be as disappointed as I was with Raiden and Sub-Zero in Injustice 2. If we are to have DLC characters, I'd like to see one's we've never seen before or are rarely seen in the series.
I hope Premiere Skins start showing up soon, that was a great idea for IJ2 and the Carl Weathers DLC that it looks like they aren't using.
It was a really good use of it to have Black Lightning for Raiden, even though I would've rather Raiden been the premiere skin in that case.
I know lots of people complain about guests, so having premiere skins of MK characters for some guests isn't a terrible idea
I always felt Injustice 2 could have done a lot more premiere characters. It's a good way to add characters that have similar move sets or combat styles. MK should do the same.
Spawn fights with chains and green fire in some carnations so depending on his moveset the Takeda cock tease could be a premiere skin for him, but I doubt it given it feels like some of him was absorbed into Scorpion.
When I saw Kanoball got renamed to Black Dragon ball my first thought was that they might add other Black Dragon characters as premier skins, but I dunno if Jarek, Kira, etc are even popular enough for people to want skins of.

So I've been seeing people complain about Sindel.
Spoilers, as it involves the datamined dialogue:
So Sindel seems to have been given a retcon in which she's an evil dominatrix type who betrayed Edenia to Shao Kahn, instead of a tragic queen who sacrificed herself for Edenia and Earthrealm. In fact the sacrifice seems to have been another of Quan Chi's long term schemes. In a few of the dialogues (namely with Shao Kahn ,Kotal, Noob Saibot and Shang Tsung) it turns out Quan Chi murdered her and made it look like a suicide, so Quan Chi could do the whole "I will revive her for you Shao Kahn" bit that happens in MK9.
Noob Saibot: "Your destiny is to serve the Netherrealm."
Sindel: "I would never submit to Quan Chi."
Noob Saibot: "That is why he murdered you."
Sindel: "How do you know Quan Chi killed me?"
Noob Saibot: "Because I helped him resurrect you."
Sindel: "Helped enslave me, you mean."
Shao Kahn: "Tell me something only Sindel would know."
Sindel: "Quan Chi murdered me, right under your nose."
Shao Kahn: "You lie, impostor."
Shang Tsung: "We never could trust Quan Chi."
Sindel: "For all I know, you helped him murder me."

To those who have seen this, what do you think? I actually kinda like this twist/rewrite of Sindel always being evil rather than "oh she was just brainwashed" in MK9, and that she was yet another good character in the previous timeline. Plus I find the datamined dialogue strings she has entertaining. Now I'm curious who will do her voice. I'm hoping it's Lani Minella (she did Sindel and Sheeva in MK9 and Ivy in the Soul Calibur games and I can totally read these lines in her voice).
Sounds fine to me, the alternative to this sounds boring
I definitely think that Sindel thing's interesting honestly, can't say I have any complaints about it.
Spawn getting in makes me think of how I want my favorite 90s comic edgelord in Mortal Kombat(Or Injustice, but I think he'd suit MK more), The Darkness/Jackie Estacado. But I don't know if any movies or anything are planned for that. Apparently a comic relaunch is planned for this year but I don't know if that'd be big enough.
Not quite something I'd expect, just something I think about a lot.
