Jesus, Overwatch is almost becoming the star-wars equivalent of FPS games when it comes to marketing their merchandise. Every facet of possible merchandise for the game is being conceived.
I can't wait to eat my Lucio-o's™ in my spikey Riptire™ bowl as I wear my Roadhog™ dakimura as an apron while my Pulse Burgers™ fry up in my Microwave Turret™ shaped microwave while I wear my ZenBall™ buttplug, with my neck cozily cradled inbetween my Soldier 76's ass-mousepad
because it got pageking'd and i think i'm incredibly clever and funny
Also features the Doomfist Diet plan.
Step 1: Eat Shit
Step 2:???
I bet you like your own Facebook posts, too.
Ah, so this is what the Lead Character Designer meant when he said that Michael Chu was currently writing a novel. It is in fact a cook book!
that's needlessly rude, i would hope that my sarcasm was obvious.
"BREAKING NEWS! Notorious criminal Doomfist's manifesto 'To Make Humanity Stronger' actually a book containing marinade recipes for human flesh!"
French Bastionion Soup
D.viled Eggs
Junkratatouille
OWL is so, incredibly, stale.
I only watched like 30 mins of it, until I realized that for some reason my country isn't even eligible for free tokens LITERALLY no point in watching this now, at least for me.
I'd like to see stats on how many people actually watch OWL versus having it run in the background for skins. I can't imagine that many people watch it for the "exciting gameplay" of GOATS vs GOATS. Other games don't seem to have an incentive for watching competitive so having one seems like the perfect way to artificially inflate viewer counts.

Like the people in the crowd must be actors, they must be. Who gives that much of a shit about the OWL
Whoop-tee-doo, and it was Sombra-GOATS vs. Winston-GOATS. Who ever could have seen that one coming.
I just realized something, if I don't enjoy playing the game anymore but I'm only motivated to play for the loot boxes, I shouldn't be playing the game anymore.
I really doubt Blizzard is going to be doing more for the game than the occasional hero, cosmetic events dedicated to lootboxes, and merchandising, and if they can't be bothered to make real change in the game to fix core issues then why bother sticking around for the long haul?
Oh hey, that's what I realized 2 years ago. That I wasn't actually having fun.
It's a weird thing to say. How could you play a game and not know you weren't having fun? Well Overwatch manages to do just that.
Most of these "State of Overwatch" video don't analyse the gameplay much excepted Brigitte & GOATS and mostly attack the matchmaking and the lack of reward as the reason why OW is dying.
Man, these players are really led by a carrot on a stick (skin) to keep playing the game..
Its more of clinging onto the hope that the game will improve and the devs finally figure out how to balance the game properly.
At some point you have to give up and let go.
I play it with friends, but that's the only fun part. Literally any game in the world is fun if you play it with good friends.
I probably spent 20 hours shitting on and playing Dead Island with a friend. We HATED that game, but damn was it fun together. Overwatch is similar.
Yeah, that's what everyone should know that if they're playing only for the sweet dopamine release that lootbox offers they're not having fun playing the game.
All my friends dropped it as soon as I did and agreed the game was never worth coming back to unless they actually start fixing things. Now we just shit talk Overwatch any time it's mentioned.
But sadly, them fixing it seems to not be what they want to do. They instead want to continue to release chokepoint hell maps and broken (good or bad) heroes.
God, Dead Island was a ship-load of absolutely stupid fun.
The zombie rag-doll physics, the glitches, the ridiculous Dev Weapons...
Friend of mine and I were playing once and we were on the mission where you had to kill all the zombies surrounding a garage or the guy inside wouldn't open the door otherwise. My friend was driving a truck, and saw that most of the zombies were in front of the door, so he thought "Heh, I'll just run into them and smash them to death!"
4/9 zombies died on impact, the rest just phased through the door and we couldn't kill them.
Then we finally made it to the boss with our Dev weapons (he had the bat, I had the "Head-Banger" throwing knife). He tried to go up tot he boss and swing, got knocked on his ass, so I say "My turn?", he goes "Yeah, your turn". Throw the knife at him, his head explodes, *BOOM*, just like that, he's dead.
"There we go, got 'im."
"...Wait, that's it?"
"Yup."
"Oh, that is bullshit."
"Yup! "
I could hear this playing all through the clip

I was a lurker at the time, but these thread used to have so much hopes. I didn't think OW was well-designed even during S1 and I still think the same of the game (since they did not change much. which
is surprising, because usually long-term game have various "phase" that you'd reminisce and think about, League of legend/DotA 2 in their first year were totally different from their second year and so on and so on.).
It's sad to see us bash the game again and again, but then again, Blizzard do deserve it. They're not acting like a propers company for Overwatch.?
overwatch will probably never get proper treatment especially since all the shit happening at blizz and activision
its pretty clear they thing stuns are essential to the game still. they've posted "oh we'll reduce stuns" somewhere on the forums but nothing's been done to any of them unless they get HUGE outcry (like brig)
the game just isn't fun. A majority (almost all of the cast) has a stun, and characters like mei and sombra simply exist (I main her basically because shes so stupidly broken). I used to play on a team in a league which was a HUGE improvement to the fun of the game (organized leagues are fun with a group of friends) but it got boring still because it was always GOATs. We did have one day where we made a gamemode where ALL stuns were disabled (characters which relied on them were buffed in other ways) and the game actually became really fun
It's just this thread, to be honest. People who have fun are playing instead of posting how so terrible this game is or how people who enjoy this game are actors, lol.
Overwatch is just a trend game, just like the battle royale craze. The difference is nobody copied Overwatch and overshadowed it yet. You can argue Paladins, but it doesn't nearly have as big of a playerbase.
Crowd control.. is not an issue in a first-person game. It simply comes down to how the crowd control is executed, what type of crowd control exist, if there is crowd control counterplay, and the characters with these crowd control.
In a normal MOBA and Paladins, you simply buy an item that make it so being CC' benefit you (A shockwave that send back a stun, a spellshield), or you play a characters that can negate them or shrug
them off. Additionally, there is no variety in crowd control in Overwatch. You have the usual Root - Stun, but also a little bit of slow and finally "hack" (well, it's commonly called a silence) and the trend is
definitely turned toward stun, unfortunately.
Mei stun is frustrating because it is long, easily applied in a fairly large range and it also slow you down progressively, and she has the follow-up to make it deadly, just like McCree, just like Brigitte.
If Mei didn't have the icycle, then the stun would be less frustrating and she would be a teamfight characters, over the duelist-team fight character she is currently.
There is a need for more mechanic in Overwatch. More variable to balance beyond the characters kit themselves.
I still don't get why people cling to games they don't like or hate, how hard is it to just let go? Like Zadrave, didn't you post sometime ago that you were leaving this thread and overwatch in general for good, yet here you are?
This is victory is probably more hyped than the finals of OWL.
Finally all my Shanghai Dragons skins will pay off.
