Anybody else doesn't care at all about the Chinese Year event? CTF mode isn't that interesting to me and the skins (although high quality) are just too Chinese for my tastes.
Yeah, sorry. I dunno man even before the buff Roadhog is pretty much a free meal even with teammates as long as you have wraith form to escape with.
I do too, except for the skin. In a great world, Blizzard would actually modify the sound & visual effect on their skin so they actually fit the skin.
Dammit I wanted that perfect ten but this is not bad at all still https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/239377/b11bb319-956c-4c0a-bd65-f1c84a825e15/Overwatch 2019-01-25 18-31-02-31.png
https://www.slashgear.com/overwatch-gets-a-permanent-price-cut-beginning-today-25563679/ The game is now $20 base, Legendary Edition is now $40.
HEY WHO THE HELL IS THAT GUY IN THE UPPER-RIGHT CORNER WITH TWO SWORDS I WANT HIM NEXT
Maybe it's the rare and elusive Liao.
Tells a lot about the current situation.
Bigger news, I think, that I missed from Sunday. http://www.sportspromedia.com/news/infinite-esports-houston-outlaws-optic-gaming-sale This will be the first OWL team that will look to change hands.
Who knew. An ill fated attempt at pushing the game to eSports is starting to bite back as pros get consistently bored with the stale game.
The armor change I am referring looks like it isn’t going to make this next patch, so it will probably the patch after. Those particular changes won’t be massive, but right now all “channeled” effects (Zarya, Symmetra, Moira, Winston, etc) are reduced by a flat amount like any other source of damage, but the size of the damage packets is purely based on how fast they tick, even though the tuning of the weapons are done via a general DPS calculation. For example, Winston’s tesla cannon was initially tuned way back when to have a faster update rate because it felt a lot better to use that way. However, currently that also means he does a lot less damage to armor. We’re getting some new tech which allows us to separate armor reduction amounts for these effects from their update rate. This doesn’t mean we’re going to just go through and buff all of these weapons necessarily but we are going to go through them all and make sure we’re happy with how much damage they are all doing to armored targets. ~Goodman what utterly stupid changes armor buffs for winston? hes a squishy killer and zaryas already strong from armro nerfs
Honestly the entire Armor change feels really arbitrary and poorly thought out, and that quote there isn't convincing me otherwise. Why are we nerfing Orisa so hard, the one tank who wasn't even in Goats Why are we now buffing Zarya, one of the primary playmakers of Goats and the biggest source of damage in it
Because Blizzard.
Orisa is too pure to be in the meta. She deserves a better game.
Pretty sure that OW team has a favoritism for certain heroes
I know they buffed reapers healing but my god it really feels like he deals more damage now. I haven't played him in a very long time and im having no trouble completely deleting anyone in a 1v1 now
They brought back Crapture the Flag and made it competitive? Uuuuugghh...
They did put on a spread pattern for his shots a while back, but I'm completely torn with the 50% health buff. I'd rather have the 30% and have better range and mobility options than what he is now.
That is completely, totally true. When you make a game and you want it to be E-sport heavy, you wish to show off its best asset and most exciting thing about it: In the case of hero shooter and MOBA (excepted DotA 2), you will try to make the more dynamic characters relevant as much as possible while doing half the work on less dynamics characters. We've seen that with League of Legends, Heroes of Newerth, Smite (Fun Fact: Smite has the worst case of mobility creep of any game with characters I've played.), and Paladins. It is simply evident and it's a logical course of action. The issue is when the entire game is made to be an E-sport, instead of the community deciding that it is viable for it. That's what people mean when they say Overwatch is a forced E-sport. I don't mind E-sport, and I think it is very very important to have an healthy E-sport scene to keep your game relevant and healthy, but it only apply when it's the community who deem the game viable enough to be an E-sport. The Overwatch League, or any competitive overwatch, has always been very boring in my opinion. can be summed up as.. "Go in, poke the enemy until you get your ultimate, use every ultimate on the enemy, if it fail go back to step 2, if it succeed go back to step 1" and there is nothing more obnoxious than those large moment of "pause" where after a teamfight, the losing team wait for everyone to respawn by doing nothing, and the winning team simply take the point with no resistance.
Mobility creep? The game focus around mobility is by Design, since most attacks there are skill shots and you have WASD movement by default, letting you dodge even ultimates just by sidestepping out of the way. It's very intentionally made to not play like any other moba so of course you'll get destroyed if you don't try to adapt and learn. CC and CC reduction are much more valuable there than in other games in the genre. It's also worth mentioning that smite is currently in its most balanced state ever, where pretty much all characters and items are viable, and characters can be played in more than just their base roles.
That's wrong because Baron Samedi Ah Puch Zeus and Hera exist so you don't really need mobility, Zeus and Ah Puch before Hera and baron samedi release (something we have not seen since a long time, characters without mobility) have been made largely irrelevant because of newer god and only are relevant because they have incredibly high stats and power. The game being in third person do not justify mobility creep: Have you ever heard of the game Paragon? Well, that game was incredible and had a Z axis over smite unexistant Z axis, well that game mobility was pretty low and it was still pretty skilled. The vast majority of the smite roster have one mobility option. That is terrible and make kit incredibly generic and formulaic.
Definitely true. Instead of nerfing Tracer for real they decided making Brigitte was the way to go. And now that Brig worked too well against tracer she has been nerfed in literally every single patch since she came out. And if you want even older examples, Reinhardt is the only hero who has flown in the 90%+pickrate area and the responce was to try and make a new Main tank to compete with him rather than look at his kit. Of course after they made Orisa they didnt even really seem to care if she actually took any of the pick rate away from him.
got the rein and torb skin one after another. only skins i wanted other than maybe orisa but WHY DOES REIN'S NEW SKIN NOT HAVE AXE SOUNDS FOR THE HAMMER?
The thing with Reinhardt is that he is the only one who offers a consistent shield that conveniently fit most map (since they're all badly designed to have such horrendous chokepoint), has a very useful that can easily turn the tides in a fight and can move with his team while shielding them. Personally, I don't have anything bad against Reinhardt: He's picked because really he execute the shield mechanic so well. It's like how Lucio was picked 90% of the time, only because he is the ONLY character in the game that can boost the speed of his teammate (I can't believe they have not made an alternative to Lucio, and in the first place, I don't like how it's about designing alternative to X because then they'll always live in the shadow of X)
She also worked too well against everyone else.
My god. Imagine if Wraith Form also gave him wall-climbing abilities.
What are you talking about? Most gods without mobility work just fine in the game, there's only a few that needed buffs to become relevant again. Are you sure you just don't struggle dealing with mobility? Worth mentioning that the game has 100 characters. Also Paragon was a gimmicky game, movement was stiff even if you could jump around the place, and its "revolutionary" cards system was nothing more than you having to roll lootboxes to unlock standard items that are available by default in all other mobas.
Theres really no argument to be made at this point, I just look at it as Reinhardt is the way the game is meant to be played and there should only be 5 slots per team to be played with plus him. Most of blizzards changes suggest this anyway.
i don't know how to fix the whole meta shit but what i do know is im sick of playing as and against goats i play for a team in multiple higher level leagues and EVERY FUCKING GAME is constant goats.
Just wait until the new hero is released this year and we can all look forward to screaming about the.
