being a fire emblem fan is hard in a time where people associate it mostly with the epic too many sword users meme in smash and 3000 year old 12 year old looking dragons/tits or alternatively feet

I'd honestly be up for a Buck Bumble remake.

Yoooo, I remember renting that game from my local Movie Rental store. I didn't get too far because I didn't know what to do most of the time.
So that's the GoNintendo post confirmed. Honestly, I almost expected it to be proven false due to how close we are to the 13th. Here's the rumor mill.
That fucking song will never leave me, I swear I could go another twenty years without hearing it, think I'm in the clear, but then out of nowhere, bam
Idk why but i reeeally dislike how the guy drew Sakurai
I'm not gonna expect any Joker gameplay since DLC has only been worked on for roughly three months, don't think we'll see any footage just yet
Unless they've been working on it for much longer. Games usually "go gold" (are sent to be certified and manufactured) weeks or even months before release. These days, once that happens, the team gets a brief break before they immediately jump into DLC full-time, sometimes working fast enough to get day-one content ready just in time for launch. It's possible plant got months of work pre-release, and Joker might've gotten the same treatment... Which would mean there's a greater than 0% chance another character is in the works right now.
I mean, we got the footage for Piranha Plant about 2 months before he launched and if we're going by the predicitons of the DLC release schedule it wouldn't be too far fetched to say that Joker would be releasing in Aprilm so 2 months from now. I think it's not that weird to expect at least a little footage.
Smash Ultimate went gold around mid-november, and they said they would start working on the fighter's pass after the game has gone gold. Piranha Plant was obviously worked on before, but the Fighter's Pass hasn't been worked on until the game was finished for release.
I dunno. The fact that they planned for a 2D short with voiceover as a way to announce Joker tells me they knew they wouldn't have the materials finalized for an ingame reveal or cinematic trailer. I also think it'll take a lot longer for Joker to be ready than Piranha Plant.

this but unironically
Sakurai directly addressed this. There was literally nothing prepared for a possible in-game footage trailer for them to show anything at the Game Awards when Joker was announced. "Nintendo had first approached me with a request: “We want you to reveal that Joker’s in development at The Game Awards 2018.” The timing wasn’t bad at all, it really was what made the flower that was Ultimate’s release bloom. Of course, I hadn’t even started on development at that point, so there wasn’t any gameplay we could show off." I remember people speculating "perhaps they were planning to reveal someone else at the game awards 👀👀👀" but no, truth is that DLC was hardly worked on at the time to reveal anything, and Joker was planned to be announced then
Didnt sakurai say a fighter takes a couple of months to be made? I remember it was something along those lines when they talked about why echo fighters are easier to develop. Even if they started production a couple months ago i dont think its unreasonable to expect joker in this direct. If not this one then definitel the next.
It took them over 4 months to show us footage of two returning characters back for Smash 4's DLC (Mewtwo + Lucas), I think it's pretty reasonable to think that it'll take them just as long for a DLC fighter made from scratch that is being worked on at the same time as 4 other characters that are made from scratch. Also, Sakurai mentioned that it can take over a year to develop certain characters. “The process, however, of actually creating a character often takes well over a year, where we are constantly working on the model, the animations, the audio and the balancing. For the game balance we have a testing team playing almost every day and we make adjustments based on their results. I was working from morning to night with my responsibilities as director, so I was only able to spend Wednesday evenings and weekends on the balance.” https://mynintendonews.com/2014/10/01/sakurai-says-the-process-of-creating-smash-bros-character-takes-over-a-year/
I can see why it takes a long time. For every character made, it needs to be tested against every other character. So for a new character right now, that's 70 others to test against and tune. That's a lot of work.
I doubt they test out literally every single match up for the sake of balance, since we still have match ups as absolutely depressing as Ganondorf vs. Bayo in Smash 4 or Little Mac vs. anyone in Ultimate
At least with how Plant is appearing to be, I'm hopeful that DLC won't be OP like in Sm4sh
Was that single player save data bug from piranha plant ever fixed?
Supposedly it was cause by fake/bad microSD card but there's no patch issue as far as I know. Haven't played since then since I don't want to lose my progress.
She cute tho
Yes, it's caused by counterfeit MicroSD cards, specifically ones that falsely identify as 128/256GB but are actually much smaller. Basically, the way counterfeit storage works, the "256GB" card (which is usually just a 16, 32 or sometimes 64GB card) starts overwriting data at the beginning once it reaches the end of its real storage, resulting in corrupted data. If Ultimate stores its user profile data in its header, and it is the only game so far that has been written to a fake card with an actual capacity of 16GB, then when Piranha Plant was downloaded, it pushed the game's total size right up to the edge of that capacity, resulting in any further data that wasn't already present (like new high score table values) being written into the header and corrupting values that were already present. This would also mean that more characters could worsen the problem, and downloading another game to that card could destroy Ultimate completely.
I bought a microSD from Big W and it still corrupts constantly. Pretty sure they're not selling bootlegs at a big chain store but whatever, Nintendo.

that thumbnail is enough to scar me for life
Other things can cause write corruption problems too. Directly touching the gold contacts with a finger, exposure to static electricity, dust or debris in the card slot, or defective NAND flash / defective storage controller.
