Speaking of DKC music, it got overshadowed by Gangplank Galleon but there are other fantastic remixes on the Ultimate OST.
With the Direct almost an hour away, what's your guys' final predictions if they do reveal a DLC character?
I'm hoping for either Travis Touchdown or Sub-Zero, maybe even another M-Rated character, like Doomguy
I don't think they're going to announce a character but I do think they're going to show Joker.
Announcing a 2nd character before they've even properly shown off the first seems a bit weird, so I'm not expecting anything lol. They'll probably do a Smash direct later on for Joker + 2nd DLC announcement. As for who it'll be, gonna go with all the leaks and say it's totally gonna be Erdrick
I think it'll be a western leaning character if anything.
I also think we'll get Joker gameplay or some kind of reveal so it's less awkward. It's kinda bizarre to think about but they have a 2019 release date for all 5 characters. Joker *has* to be somewhat soon (P. Plant was already mostly done iirc) if they're going to keep meeting their schedule so I wouldn't be surprised if we get our second title card.

Huh, really? I never heard 2020 get brought up. Only that it would be 2019
And everywhere else I've gone to has only mentioned 2019

I'd be super happy with:
Ryu Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden) Another NES veteran and proper ninja.
Yuri Lowell (Tales of Vesperia) While he's another anime swordsman, he has some of the most interesting style of fighting in his series, being ambidextrous. He has a HUGE pool of moves that fit nicely in a game like Smash.
Monster Hunter Would be a Inkling type fighter, using all sorts of weapons in it's moves.
Very content with:
Sub-Zero (MK)
Fulgore (Killer Instinct) We could be getting Mick Gordon's amazing KI OST and that alone is worth it.
Terry Bogard or any King of Fighters/SNK rep.
Heihachi or any Tekken rep
Banjo on the basis that he ends up as an interesting fighter, like an hybrid of PKMN trainer and Duck Hunt. A Duo that can switch fighters.
Adol Christin (Ys Series) The music of the series is a big driving point here, as he's rather generic looking.

3.0 Update, but they didn't tell us anything. Hopefully there's actually more than Joker.

Incredibly annoying that they didn't say anything about what 3.0 would include beyond Joker who is obvious. Appreciate the look at what is most likely all they have for him right now, but even if it was just a hint at new music or a new/returning stage, it would've been better than just saying it's happening.
Gotta manufacture the hype of yet another Smash Direct. Although I would've also liked some hint as to how big 3.0 might be compared to 2.0. I'll try to not get excited until we actually get some concrete info.
I love the non announcements nintendo does sometimes. Really fresh and exciting to hear "we're not telling you anything bye"

I'm surprised they're already teasing 3.0 considering that 2.0 just came out and the only thing we know about 3.0 so far is Joker. I'd say they must be saving something else up, but did 2.0 really introduce anything besides Piranha Plant and a balance patch?
