Seriously though, the approach strategy is different depending on your character. Some will want to jump over the projectiles, some will want to shield the projectiles, some will want to reflect the projectiles, others will want to put out their own projectiles. Some characters will have an EXTREMELY hard time dealing with projectile campers. It all depends on what character you're using and how fast they are and what tools they have.
Cool, will give it a try, thanks for the advice!
Yeah i know jack shit about Yoshi too, but Yoshi has insanely good aerials and air control, so consider using that to your advantage. Unless Link jumps, his only way to beat your aerial approach is to use his boomerang.
I felt that too, but it did encourage me to go and listen to the original soundtrack for Playdead's Inside, so I guess it's not all bad on that front.
Thanks so much for the heads up! Was able to preorder through Walmart. Ocarina of Time was one of my favorite games growing up, so I really appreciate your help with this <3

So this may have been brought up before. But why does Snake look like he's about to hit the hardest whip of the universe on his air dodge https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/295679740940124160/546207093506703369/175px-Air_dodge.png
Random idea that could be a great PR move towards the Ultimate tourney scene: Offer a special version of the Switch, and of Ultimate itself, just for them. The hardware would be your average Switch, but without a regular housing, screen, cartridge port, or battery, permanently inside a special dock-box with three HDMI outputs (all displaying the same thing, intended for streaming or tri-display setups already in use via splitters), four built-in GCN controller ports, built-in ethernet, and a robust security anchor option for locking it down. It would not feature the usual Switch OS, rather it would boot into a game pre-chosen by the buyer, like Ultimate, and ONLY that game, the online store for that game (if applicable), and the settings menu. The special version of Ultimate would also be functionally identical, aside from some big, fundamental changes in how the menu priority works; the system's owner (a TO in this case) can set an "admin" ruleset that the game immediately loads into after being launched. If there is an admin ruleset, the stage select screen is the very first thing to pop up after the title screen, or you can hold a specific combination of buttons to access settings or name entry from the title screen. All multiplayer content is unlocked, and this version of the game comes with the fighters pass at no charge for future DLC, but all singleplayer modes except training are missing, the only tabs on the main menu being Smash, Training, Register (name / control profile entry) and Options (Mii fighter creation and Amiibo are nested in Options) Offer this stripped-down system, bundled with the chosen game, at a modest discount versus buying a regular Switch for the same purpose, and increase the discount if bought in large bulk. Larger TOs would probably love it, as there have already been some serious concerns raised about theft and tampering, and it would streamline quite a lot of the setup process pre-event, since you can just lock it to the table, plug in your capture equipment and monitors, set up admin options for the game, and you're done. Bonus points if the systems can all be connected together via ethernet to sync profile data between them, so players can go seat to seat in pools without having to re-enter their name and such each time (or without the TO having to enter it on all the systems pre-seed)
Why bother?
"A major retooling" A Switch that hasn't been fully assembled yet, inside a box with a slightly more complex PCB (let's be real, they'd just cannibalize a GC adapter and LAN adapter outright), is not a redesign of the Switch hardware. It would take LESS manufacturing process and material to make, not more, and thanks to dropping two of the most expensive parts - screen and battery - it would cost less to make as well. Literally the only thing they would have to design, is a venue-friendly case for the thing, and that could just be a black box with a logo and a cluster of ports on the front.
Sakurai reflects on 20 years of Smash Bros., his future as a dev.. At the moment I’m working on new Classic Mode routes and scripted events that I think you’ll enjoy!
Possibility for Bonus Games like Break the Targets being added?
I'm pretty sure he's just referring to setting up classic mode routes for the new DLC characters, like how every other character has their own route.

So I'm very late to the party on this one but finally giving smash online a go. Played at least 10 matches and not one didn't have ridiculous lag. My inputs were delayed by at least one second, with about 2 games where my inputs were slower and often just weren't recognised. Switch is wired and have a stable high speed connection, very confident it's not me. Is there something wrong here or is this just how it is?? Absolutely pointless to have online play if it never gets any better than this.
Probably has to do with Australia's really high P2P ping and overall bad internet infrastructure - or at least that's how I'm told it is there. Ultimate's netcode is P2P so any issue with your local internet is going to be multiplied in severity.
I'm Australian and I've had a pretty solid experience with the online with only minimal bad connection matchups, but I have good internet and I tend to play later at night.
Possible Mii Classic Mode?
The problem a lot of US/CA players experience is getting matched with other people who are using cellular internet, since in a big chunk of the continent, it's much, much cheaper to just use a Verizon or AT&T mobile hotspot than it is to pay Cox or Spectrum $120+ per month for not that much higher speeds. Significantly higher latency than cable internet though, which is why cellular players suck to fight.
It's gonna be Smash World https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/134229/64fee3a6-501e-403f-9b02-6c7f728ce653/image.png I bet money on it
How long do you guys think it'll be until they show actual game play of Joker? I was kinda expecting it in the recent direct. Instead we got Joker ass.
I'm predicting a Smash Direct around mid-March(?) that'll show off Joker and the rest of 3.0 (whatever that is), as well as tease the next DLC character.
Next Smash Direct in late-March/early April for sure. They can show up 3.0, Joker gameplay and how he works, Smash World (the mobile social thingy) and a possibility of a teaser for the next DLC.
You say that like its a bad thing
Aussie also, and the connections are usually playable, but it's the characters people play as that are killing online for me. Nothing but anime sword boys. I was so happy when I once, finally fought a donkey kong. But he returned to the ether and the anime boys came back.
Won't be surprised if the next DLC character is released in conjunction to E3 to match up to character releases every other month.
As much as I love playing Robin I never understood why the durability mechanic existed.
It's pretty much just a nod to awakening's durability mechanic as far as I can tell. From what I've seen none of Robin's attacks are so particularly strong as to need to be limited in use to balance out the character.
Not for the tomes, but the her charged aerials are nasty strong
I find it an odd thing to pay omage to. Its not like Link has a limited ammount of Arrows or bombs. Though there have been times were I wish he did.
