I mean it makes sense to not be in Smash 4 because you could recover for free in that game.
lets be honest its going to be a headswap like robin
someone that has never played joker here: I thought joker was man and that avatar was just your designated r63 am I missing something
good Lord the only thing youre missing is that persona 3 got a psp port which added a female route along side the original male one. it's possible the rumored Persona 5 port/remaster/definitive edition will do that again. and they may reveal that with Smash, or they are waiting for Atlus to announce it first.
To be fair, Robin is the only gender swap that's really like that. All others are different models.
I really hope they add Glover as a dlc fighter. I just have a feeling all dlc fighters are reserved as half-advertisements for upcoming games, though.
I miss recoveries being difficult, it was half the point of Smash Bros imo and they got rid of it since Brawl. If you get knocked out and manage to come back, it should be impressive, but the new ledge mechanics and air dodges makes it a piece of cake unless you're fighting against a character with lots of zoning tools.
I think its fast-paced enough without ring-outs being essentially guaranteed deaths
I played my first local today, Incineroar every match and I placed high Was a ton of fun, will go again
and i fucking hate it let f. robin have boobs
Recoveries being difficult isn't necessary even for that if the game actually lets you pursue foes offstage without being magnet hand gimmicked or a flagrant amount of knockback scaling on low percent moves. See: 64, Project M 3.0 and Brawl Minus.
But twintails
it's weird how in ultimate there's some characters with really difficult recoveries and then others that can basically always get back no matter what. the magnet hands are less of a thing, it's not the engine that's the problem it's just an issue of game balance. it's probably fine that some characters are really easy to gimp and others aren't, because there's a lot of other aspects to the game to balance it out, but for a character like K. Rool, it seems to come at the expense of his neutral game being fucking dogshit and forcing him to rely on gimmicky projectiles.
At least edgeguarding is an actual thing in Smash Ultimate because air dodges aren't your ez free pass back to the stage anymore.
I feel like the biggest issue ultimate will have to face is the fact that some matchups take years while others are done in a few minutes due to the massive roster of characters.
Biggest issue is objectively the abhorrent input delay. It's actually driven (competitive) friends completely away from the game.
I hate to say it but I definitely noticed it, particularly with Bayonetta for some reason.
As someone that is playing characters that require some frame perfect inputs, I can't see it. The delay doesnt seem horrible in any way. Obviously they can fix it, but if that is a deal-breaker, then I cant say for certain that there was interest in the first place.
I find it more difficult to deal with projectile spammers because of this.
I have more issues with the buffer doing weird shit. The input delay isn't very noticeable to me.
i don't know if it's the input delay or buffer, but does anyone else often accidentally do smash attacks when they mean to do tilts/dash attacks? it hasn't been a problem for me in past games but i swear when i play ganondorf half the time i'm DORYAHHHING when i really want to do something else and it's very frustrating
If you haven't already, I'd advise trying out tilt stick
Tilts on Cstick is absolutely essential for playing Dorf. Also map Z to jump if you don't reflexively use it for grabs already; using Z to jump makes shorthop aerials SIGNIFICANTLY easier, and shorthop Bair/Nair are your best friends as Dorf. Do them basically always.
the only things I want changed are the input delay and tilt stick it works as intended, sure, but I miss being able to input nair/jab by flicking it into diagonal directions.
I'd kill for a dedicated smash attack button and disabling activating smash attacks via the stick, that's an option in slap city and it makes pulling off certain moves so much easier for me.
I would love this so much if the stick actually fucking worked. Every single pro controller I use has this thing where the stick doesn't register anything you do unless it's at a very certain angle. I can't tell you how many times I've had a perfect opportunity for a double f tilt combo as Snake but the stick either does nothing, or just does one of the attacks, because I didn't tilt the stick in exactly the right way.
I'd love if you could put smash attacks/tilts on the directional pad. So that way you could have every type of attack mapped seperately
Ok, so it's not just me then.
Honestly it's something you get used to after a while when using the controller. I've gotten consistent with my combos with a pro controller so far.
Interestingly I just tried my own and had no issues with it. I really only notice it when I play with my colleagues at work on breaks so maybe the brand new pro controllers we got for the office have some gunk in them that needs to be cleaned out.
