It's because Corrin has a personality on par with cardboard and the male version's voice acting is considered questionable, so the female version gets more of a pass on sex appeal and tolerability.

See, I understand the wooden personality argument, but I disagree on the voice acting. When I rewatch the Corrin reveal trailer, the male voice sounds like that of a relatively generic protagonist and has the Ash Ketchum 'NOT TO WORRY!' default tone, but I still consider that better than the 'Here's a soft-spoken woman saying "Leave some for me" That's all you get.' Personality still less than that of a old sock, nonetheless.

This holds true for both genders, and thus isn't going to be a factor between choosing from the two.

Just to be fair, I don't think the voice actor is bad, I just can't stand the voice crack in their pain yelps. I blame this partially on SSB4 and SSBU having really terrible coding for that, though, there are a variety, but they keep playing the same one the same way for the same context every. damn. time. Ness and Bayonetta are two of the more egregious examples of this because their screams are well-voiced, but the game's overusage of them makes those annoying as shit.

95% of the reason why I hate Lucina is because she only has two attack voice clips and I was sick to death of them on day one, but she's popular so here's to ten more years of it.

WELP. MELEE WONT BE MAIN STAGE AT EVO

Thank god Melee is dead at EVO I have nothing against people that like the game, and nothing against the game itself, but I really got tired of the fanbase for Melee and the entire rest of the series seeming going to war every time EVO rolled around trying to prove which one is better on some form. Without Melee hanging around maybe the community can improve, even if it's just by a little bit.

Prepare for really super funny "when's Melee" spam when Ultimate is on, as if they're the first people to come up with that joke

Can't blame them. Melee is my favorite eSport and I will defend almost everything about it, but Smash at EVO last year was either a snoozefest or a complete shitshow. Lots of people said Melee last year was fantastic, when I thought it was dull as hell. Which is a shame because Leffen won which is super interesting. Good luck to the fresh blood of games. Don't know what the fuck Samurai Showdown is but hey, its EVO baby.

They probably stopped having melee at EVO because the place would look like Chernobyl after all the smell.

It was at 2007, then didn't show up again until 2013 where its been featured every year since then.

Smash is so seperared from the rest of the FGC that with events like Genesis and Smashcon, I don't think missing EVO will slow down Melee. What we really need is a new European Major series where the organizers aren't accused of sexual crimes. That'd be nice.

You have to remember, EVO is the single most corporate tourney scene out there. Their job is to generate brand hype and push the current biggest titles for their brand partners. Ultimate is riding a huge hype train still, and while Melee's legacy is still respected, it doesn't get the viewer numbers and ad revenue it used it. Add two and two together, this choice makes sense for them.

Uh, melee gets insane views and revenue dude.

They are literally going to be overrun by unwashed masses.
