anyone complaining about the PC version is just for HOTAS stick, 4k or controller prompts being there/bad M&KB support. if you dont care for the first two, and you REALLY shouldnt care about the last one since i would imagine controller is the best way to play the game and M&KB would suck, its a good port. it runs really well even on mid range builds and theres good video options.
all you need to know for 7 is that countries constantly are at each others necks, and there were meteor strikes where super weapons were built to combat it but the debris hit the planet anyway. hit in places like estovakia and erusia, and widespread refugee/humanitarian issues occured in usea.
So 4k doesn't work well? Also do PS4 Controllers work with Ace Combat 7?
4k works. there were rumors going around at launch that it didnt, but its because it only supports 4k in fullscreen mode, and the default display mode is borderless windowed.
ps4 controllers work, as long as you can get your windows to recognize it.
I play m+kb and honestly the only gripe I have with it is I can't control yaw with the mouse. Everything else is working great so far.
I play at 1080p with a XB1 controller. Works fine, consistent 60FPS on an Nvidia 970
Only issue I had with the PC port is the framerate limiter sucks, causes a lot of microstutter. Just put it to 75fps (on a 60hz monitor) and put on Vsync to limit it proper. Been perfect since.
The PC port is fine, people are just salty that the game doesn't support every HOTAS there is. Also flight sim nerds are upset that the game is an arcade flying game.
I'm so bad at this game but it's so much fun.
Any suggestions on how to best spend my mrp so I don't fuck myself later?
pick any high-tier plane in the end of the tree you want work towards to

Sparewas definitely the high point of the game for me. Some of the best character flair and dialogue of any AC. Plus mission 9 was really something.
<< All aircraft, form up on Trigger! Nice and tight. >> was absolutely the "Hell yeah, that's Ace Combat" moment I live for.
I'm glad we have G maneouvers because it makes slow ass planes like the A-10 have a chance agaisnt UAVs and Mihaly. Yep, I brought the A-10 on mission 19 where you fight the Sol squadron and Wiseman dies. Spent all of my missiles and ended using the machinegun against Mihail. Ended with 99% damage but it was so tense and cool, especially when pursuing him through the ruined skyscrappers.
Fuck these drones man, impossible to get properly aligned so missiles work.
Mission 7 is very difficult. Mission 8 is far worse in my opinion. Prepare yourself.
mission 9 is worse than either of those imo at least when going for S rank
Remember that hitting the oil tanks in M9 will destroy the other oil tanks and surrounding units
So use ugb/LACMs to wipe those (or SFFS the shit out of everything's if you have F-15E/Su-34)
i just finished up on an all inclusive guide on the named aircraft if anyone needs the help

This will be my first experience with this series. I got a few episodes into Beaglerush's missions and wow does this look fun. Something about the colors and music in the tech tree gives me a custom robo vibe too, which I dig.
My first Ace Combat too, when I heard the the beautiful swelling music while I was doing nothing in the first mission I knew I've been missing out, the third mission gave me a taste of how wild the series can get, and by the 7th when I was goddamn duelling Jetstream Sam in a karst valley during a lightning storm with epic music and everyone on the radio going "holy shit how is Trigger taking that guy on by himself what a badass" I understood that Ace Combat is truly a special series
I cried a little bit while playing AC7 due to the feeling of it bringing me back to 2004 in a good way.
This was super helpful. Thanks for making it!
am i a weirdo if i prefer playing in first person no cockpit mode
i took a glance at a bunch of gameplay vids and everyone plays in 3rd person
if you fly f35 it's realistic
I fly in first person cockpit mode the majority of the time. The care that went into the cockpits is noticeable. It also immerses me more. Maybe I'm weird, but it's super fun.
no.
real weirdos are the ones that use that same view mode in racing games.
what a bunch of degenerates.
Third person when I'm having fun because the planes are super cool looking and I love seeing them. HUD only view when I'm playing "seriously" because it's easier to be accurate with the gun, the FOV is higher, and you don't have the cockpit in the way.
It's nice, but some of the dials are pretty in accurate.
Did the princess just get hit by a fucking missle?
