I mean, the ending as a whole felt extremely rushed to me, but I think the answer is no.
Lol ya I just finished the last mission. Literally no explanation to how she survived.
What the hell are these credits?
She didn't, but it was really unclear. That was a really odd scene to include.
The entire last section of the story felt completely bonkers and rushed to me. Fighting two single drones was a big letdown as they weren't built up, they weren't characters, they were just some funky drones. The story went quite a bit anime for my tastes. This giant factory making drones wouldn't be 100% automated, there would be a sizeable guard presence, especially since it's right at the focal point of the entire goddamn war, yet just a few people (really about 2 fighters) were able to seize control. That lovely scene from the first trailer wasn't there, nor was Mr. X. He was gone by then. Was all that just me?
Usea is the Strangereal shadow government and has been pulling strings behind the Belka/Osea/Eursia conflicts to reinforce their world domination change my mind.
haha let's have a civil war, get invaded and almost completely occupied by erusea twice, suffer rebellions from free erusea twice, and eventually surrender to megacorporate control and dissolve our governments entirely
that'll own those belkans
It's annoying that you can't roll when using the standard flight option. I'm awful with expert controls, so standard feels a lot better/cooler, but not being able to do a split s maneuver hurts.
It's not just you, the story kind of sucks.
Overall I found the story to be really disjointed because it's trying to do way too many things at once. There's enough ideas in this game for at least 3 whole Ace Combat games, but none of it gets the attention or focus that it needs. On top of that, all the cutscenes themselves are really stilted and strange because with the exception of like 2 very specific scenes, nobody talks to each other. They just monologue in past tense about what's happening while staring at the person that they're supposed to be talking to. It's so weird.
It's weird, because I think AC7 is easily one of the best of the series in terms of gameplay and mission design, but at the same time I think it's probably the worst (excluding AH) when it comes to story.
For the problems the game has, It's still awesome as hell. I would love if they remastered 5 and 0 with 7 style map and mission design.

How do you do that shit? Or is it just that plane only?
there's only a handful of planes that can do the post-stall maneuver

I had no idea of this, but after seeing the video I even love more AWACS Bandog:

And then you get +1000 points for the kill
Not exactly Ace Combat, but this popped up in my feed and I found it funny given Ace Combat 7's constant missile alerts.

I feel like if the AI pilots were smarter and if Count stayed as your wingman it would've been more powerful for either him or someone else to save your ass ala Zero against the drones. Then it would've been a personal fight because really, Count is just Ace Combat's Bakugo.
It felt like the majority of the development went into working with UE4 and the story and mission design suffered for it. A lot of the plot points seem random and lead to nowhere, and some of the radio chatter is really jarring and doesn't make sense
I was honestly hoping for an ACI+ type of thing with more unique, replayable missions rather than having a lot of missions that feel like filler, more planes, and an actual multiplayer mode. I don't expect 7's multiplayer to last more than a few months
I'm stuck on mission 17, any cool strats?
What part is making you stuck?
Dealing with the bombers. If I ignore the fighters I get shot down by the 80 missles they cram up my ass, and if I fight them the bombers reach their destination pretty quick
See if you have any long range weapons: special missiles, railgun or lasers (which can hit at 5000 distance).
The EML and TLS, as well as long-range AA missiles, are godsends for that mission.
AC7's website has character profiles up now:

people have been datamining cut content

Those VR Missions and UAV sound really neat. I hope they incorporate them in the upcoming DLCs or something.
I've heard a couple of those misc dialogue lines, think they only play in uncommon situations
Whatever that was shown in the teaser on previous page is supposedly to be conveyed in 3 missions about most evil antagonist
Was that teaser actually meant to make sense? If it was referring to something I must have totally missed it lmao
It seems to be a mostly standalone story
The VR missions were criminally short. I desperately wanted more, I thought there was gonna be at least a few more and then it just ends.
