Sorry, but I have fun when mates are able to coordinate together and not freeze like deer in headlights the moment a gunshot louder than 10dB goes off near them. It being a 3-man game doesn't change the fact that my enjoyment is being limited by the incompetency of the average random pubbie that I have to play with whenever my friends are not online. I still have fun with the game's combat and do relatively well even with these mouthbreathers, but a lot of these games would've been a lot more satisfying and ended on less stupid outcomes if these people are actually capable of pressing more than 3 keys at the same time. Critiquing aim is also not some magical thing that only snob aim gods do, my friends who admits he potatos a lot knows when to call out god fucking awful aim whenever he sees it. Coming from Battlefield and Siege, pubbie bashing and bullying is going to be something me and a lot of people are going to keep doing, especially so with this game's insane focus on teamplay which warranted the entire frustration in the first place. For the sake of this thread, I'll keep my bullying in other channels to not clutter it up.
I hear Titanfall 2 has been getting a lot of players recently since Apex came out. Apex might have just revived that game.
I've been dealing with this too. It's not so bad with automatics but fuck me if i ever try hitting anything with the G2 or Longbow Y'know honestly, i still don't like the BR genre as a whole and think this mess of a trend has gotten way out of hand, but AL is fun as hell and i genuinely want to see it succeed, both because it's damn good and, frankly more importantly, out of a want of more TF content.
I like dropping near another group before they even grab weapons and starting Apex Legends Punch Out
Does the game perform like hot garbage for anyone else? I'm getting sub 60 on average with all settings on lowest.
Not sure about ps4 but on xbox i heard it got as high as 10k players. PC ain't doing so hot, saw it at 2.3k a few days ago.
Phoenix kits are max-outs and restore 100/100 iirc, so 100 health and 25 shield per segment i think
Having the same exact problem here. It's like all my years of FPS vanished when I installed this game.
These crashes are annoying af, losing teammates and getting dropped after getting good gear is such a pile of garbage. Had personally my first crash today, but saw plenty of people just drop outta matches, even when playing with friends someone would just go "huh" on discord and then poof. Drop on highly contested areas, you'll have fast matches with the pubbies or you'll survive the hectic firefight and proceed to have a great time. Personally getting random teammates and trying to understand how well they perform on firefights and whether I can rely on them or not is part of the fun. Plus there's plenty of different, fun fellas out there just trying to have a good time like we all are, and it's always great finding these people. Remember not to be an asshole to people just because they don't have the same amount of time spent ingame as you do.
Damn, I was going to post Frothyman. Pathfinder is so fun, especially if you get ahold of a mastiff and can wreck face by just flying all over the place. As for the whole "Titanfall 1 and 2 shouldve been this popular", it's not that level but I've heard from ToneyMo that the player count on Xbox for Titanfall 2 has gone up by 3 times. So it's a start.
Bangalore is SO GOOD THO. Sprint and Smoke for an instant reset on your stress. Pop a heal, be cool and pop some more shots. Also these maniac speed flanks man.
Yeah ok after a bunch wins and loses, I think I can safely agree that the Peacekeeper may be a bit too bonkers as its almost the only thing that will always 2 shot somebody in any stage of the game besides the Kraber and Mastiff via meatshots. I'm pretty that 90% of my wins are done with Peacekeeper loadouts. I really don't like nerfing things though and much rather have the other CQC options buffed to fuck over the Peacekeeper. Oh no, I still keep the golden rule of not being a dick in-game. I only smack talk in my own channels which really help in general venting and makes for some great jokes and banter in my own circle of friends.
Bangalore and Pathfinder have been my go-to for a while now. I am nearing enough Legends currency to buy another character, though I don't know if either Mirage or Caustic interest me too much. Perhaps I will wait until they release another Legend.
Just got teamkilled by an airstrike. Instead of throwing a shield to save me dude decided to supress the enemy.
After playing enough to unlock MIrage with the levelup coins, I can safely say that the hitreg in this game is utterly broken and/or missing. I can run behind a player who stands still, pump an entire peacekeeper or the r302 in their backs and get over 300 damage in one burst, when the max health is only 200 mind you, and have the person walk away like I gave them a small scratch and shoot me once in the face with a pistol and knock off 150 hp. The game is enjoyable, but dear fucking lord I hope they fix these issues soon.
There definitely needs to me a solo mode. I had two people disconnect before we even got into the game proper. I hear it's in the works though
I've mostly had good experiences with randos, barring the angry russian I had in my first game. The ping system certainly makes things easier.
PC has always had the smallest player base, it has seen an increase though, its almost double what it was before Apex.
My two friends needed a third so I caved and gave it a whirl last night. Pretty fun, but I think my lack of playing FPS in the last few months has caused some serious muscle memory atrophy - because I only got a handful of kills in the games I played.
Man I fucking love this game at the minute but I suck ASS at holding my own in a firefight - does anyone have general tips and tricks to not get my shit kicked in?
Aside from the "positioning is key" and "never peak from the same place twice in a row" tips that apply to all BR games, hit detection in the game is fairly wonky so keep that in mind
Dont forget to throw grenades and shit. They are pretty strong.
Any advice for positioning?
i'm not particularly good at BRs, but the main thing i always try to consider is just thinking about what the opponents would be doing, try to remember the path the dropship takes at the start of the match, and where a lot of people drop before you (or alternatively, if there's still a lot of people on the ship when you drop). this makes planning a bit easier as you can try to expect where people may be coming in from or who you run in on, especially if people are coming in from the ring closing. i struggle in firefights a lot too, what i've learned is that you really need to not be afraid to shoot. lots of PUBG being my only BR got me used to not wanting to shoot on account of potentially getting one-tapped in response, but there's no way to learn how guns handle besides actually going out and shooting. maybe try dropping in hotspots a bit more often, or push people you spot to force more engagements, and get a bit more practice.
Pathfinder's pretty good, but I kinda like Bloodhound as they're very strong if you can leverage the spotting/tracking abilities effectively. Their super also nullifies any hard or soft cover that enemies have in a firefight, letting you preaim/fire on them as you know exactly where they are.
I'd say, if I was forced at gunpoint to make a tier list of the characters currently it'd go something like this: S tier: Lifeline (free healing every 60 seconds AND faster healing makes her a must have or you're actively gimping yourself and your team, her ult is effective but isn't combat-effective like most other ults so it balances out but I genuinely think her passive healing speed increase puts her over the edge) A tier Bloodhound (his ult is easily one of the best in the game, only being beaten out by Bangalore's just for sheer usefulness, but his track system and his Q are both pretty weak and inconsistent. I've only ever seen my Q ping somebody that already knows I'm there and is basically on the other side of the wall, and since if you get pinged by it you're alerted to him using it, it's not as useful as it could be) Bangalore (extra speed when sprinting if shot at is huge, Smoke grenade is useful in almost any situation, and her ult can single-handedly decide a 2- or even 3-team teamfight. Definitely the best pure combat class) Mirage (his bamboozle is a lot more effective than it'd seem, though it stops being useful once you're actually in a firefight or the enemies know you're there) Wraith (insanely useful ability but teleport is a very touch-and-go kind of ultimate. B tier Pathfinder (high mobility but lacks anything else, and his Q is kind of iffy. Could probably use some sort of minor utility buff to make him more valuable since mobility is so high already, ziplines aren't nearly as useful especially since the launch ziplines are scattered around basically everywhere) Caustic (big hitbox + only semi-effective trapping system means he's good if you can anticipate where people will want to go, but you're free target practice otherwise. Can work really well with, say, a Bangalore Pathfinder combo to maximize his gas abilities but otherwise is ehh) Gibraltar (having a shield is a big boon but it doesn't make up for him being a naturally big target anyways, and his dome shield is useful if you want to rez a teammate but since enemies can just enter it and they know where you are inside it, you're a sitting duck) Of course, this is all based on roughly ~20 hours of gameplay.
Hard disagree on pathfinder being B tier, I'd put him high A tier considering that you can have your team just nope away from anywhere to anywhere, and if enemies take the zipline you can just shoot them down since you'll have a much better angle than they'd have when you were riding it.
I feel like I could have more impact for my team but I just love Pathfinder way too much when I can fly around at mach speed.
Lifeline is high tier not because of her healing, but her ultimate. There's so many times where I've ended up in top 3 with just white or blue armor, she causes this to not really be a thing.
My main issue when playing Pathfinder is having the situational awareness to use zipline
