i've noticed a few of the legendaries are references to other games; the most obvious one is the Mozambique's "Red Alert", but I believe the Mastiff's "Warp Zone" has a Mega Man sprite edit and there's some sort of Metroid reference with "The Pest Controller".
The pest controller has a Tick from Titanfall 2 on the screen. Specifically the ticks from the campaign.
I definitely want to play more Titanfall 2 but I'm not sure if the mp is completely dead or not.
It' still alive and has a minor influx of new/returning players right now due to the news.

I sure wish I was playing the same game everyone else seems to be.
The game for me and my friends felt wonky as hell, the movement (and the momentum mechanics) still feels inconsistent and extremely jittery, the netcode seems to love randomly diving off a cliff, the guns feel inconsistent, hitreg feels like rolling dice, and the game runs like absolute ass for all of us.
Even so, despite my friend-group having gotten pretty avidly into both fortnite and blackout, they said this was an 'OK battle royale' but had nothing to keep them. They were also distinctly insulted that its likely the death knell of one of their favorite franchises.
Myself? I've never played a BR before today and I am no titanfall fan, and this game just could not hook me. The genre obviously isn't for me, with the wildly varying TTK, the complete lack of satisfaction from playing, the constantly unbalanced playing field filled with bullshit around every corner.
You either sweat your ass off playing just to get #5 squad or whatever, or you get lucky and win to be treated to a 'wow your a champion' screen for a few seconds before it starts all over again.
Back to my old man speedy arena shooters I go.

IMO releasing Titanfall 3 this year would be a terrible idea. Not only is there Apex and the Star Wars game (like you said) taken into account, but I think this holiday season will be dominated by CoD and (presumably) DOOM in the FPS sector, so I don't think it would stand as good of a chance.
I get why they didn't include it, but fuck man I wish you could just do solo matches.
After a couple of rounds of Apex I think it's not too bad. Sure it's not Titanfall proper. But it manages to carry over a number of things I did like about the main entries. The movement even with the missing features is still very responsive and fluid, though jumping out of slides is nowhere near as fun knowing I can't start slide-hopping. The guns all feel exactly as I expect them too, the lack of genuine hit-scan is taking a toll though.
Compared to other BR titles I've seen and tried the extra focus on mobility here is really nice. During a shoot out my squad got stuck in the middle of, a Pathfinder grappled around us trying to flank, and at the same time I jumped onto a rooftop as Wraith, phase shifted behind them and flanked the flankee in a smooth motion (then promptly downed myself in front of his downed body with an arc star but hey). I can't think of many other BR titles with stuff like that going on right now, and compared to suffering through the long trudge to zone like I do in PUBG it's not super boring to wander around this map.
As a more casual BR title, I think this works quite well. Perhaps there's potential for alternative game modes that add features in (squad Titan mode is something that came to mind. Each squad gets to field a single Titan, with the remaining pilots acting as support roles/ hit and run Titan killers). I'm willing to give Respawn the benefit of the doubt after actually giving it a shot. I hope they manage to get some success from this.

Coming from BFV, Apex's UI design is a fucking godsend.
The creative ability to change ping markers along with the functionality and style of Titanfall's UI interacting with the 3D world makes it very easy to communicate even with randoms.

I think they really wanted to avoid splitting the playerbase between multiple queues and it's going to play in their favor compared to other BR games once the player base naturally starts to decline.
Combined with the smaller playercount it means that it's going to take a really long time before the queues start being annoying.
Plus, a lot of the game seems balanced around the whole 3 player dynamic.
I've actually been waiting a long time for a game BR to enforce a single mode, it always seemed extremely risky for the long term health of a playerbase to split it between so many modes.
As much as I don't give a fuck about BR, I'm really happy to see Titanfall and Respawn getting the credit they deserve. All I've been hearing is good things about how well the game is made. Good for Respawn!

It's probably not Titanfall 3 but it's also not a F2P game. Some kind of new spinoff/twist on the franchise.

Despite my earlier bitching and moaning, after giving the game a shot I do really enjoy it. Weapon handling acting like an actual shooter compared to Fortnite's way of doing it probably has something to do with it.
These are cursed words.

I honestly wouldn't mind a singleplayer game if it was as good as what T2 had but as its own thing, just gimme a damn giant mech to smash around in
Ok I gave the game another shot with a friend and yeah it's pretty good.
I still feel a bit off of the gun play and movement. Sometimes I would find myself suddenly being slowed down which makes me feel like absolute shit and the TTK and guns just feel overall very off to me and I can't put my finger on why. Regardless of that, it's well crafted and the only changes I'd give the game would be double jumps, light wallruns and further refinement of ground movement to make it more speedy and smooth.
I'd also like it if Pathfinder's grappling hook had more range and speed as a lot of old hook maneuvers I've done in Apex would've slinged me forward much faster and further in base TF2.
I came home from work, and started playing Apex, and suddenly 6 hours had vanished. The game is insanely fun.
I would be enjoying this game a lot more if the frames stayed consistent.
like fuck, this thing can run ArmA at 60 FPS but this thing just somehow eats through my frames. Even during the (really kinda lack luster) tutorial

Everyone left. What kinda lore is this?
Gave the game a try with some friends. Had some fun, but already have issues with some things (namely the kill moves because it just really breaks the flow).
Also game doesn't run all that great no matter what settings I'm putting or even if I use the adaptive resolution. Just feels kinda laggy all around. Netcode also seems kind of hit and miss right now too, given I've directly blasted someone in the face with a shotgun and missed.
I don't see myself playing this solo like I would with Fortnite, but I guess it's not completely terrible. Still, would've maybe preferred this to be a game mode in Titanfall 3 so we could have all the Titanfall mechanics.
That’s a cop out for Titanfall 3 and they absolutely know it.
"Factions just stopped existing lol" is the exact same cop-out excuse that Planetside: Arena is pulling too.
Prob not cannon.
