After the initial few rounds, Apex Legends is now guaranteed to crash for me in the middle of the match. And it seems to a really common issue. Goddammit, today was pretty much the only evening I could play it in peace.

Besides the lack of wall running, it is...
Movement can still be good without wall running.
I'm not saying it is bad - but it makes me sad they never tried either of the original titanfall games.
Really loving Apex so far. Never really played a BR style game before but I've managed to get 5 wins so far and a bunch of close games, all of which with random team mates.
Managed to fix this. My texture streaming was Insane, and that's too much for my poor RTX 2080 Ti. Changed it to Very High and 0 crashes since.
Do we have a discord for Apex Legends to we can coordinate?
While it's a shame that the parkour has been practically removed from the game, I'm glad that people tried it and the general conscience seems to be that it's good now. I'm bummed that there's no wall running, but at least it shows that Respawn cares about the game
Its understandable they didn't bring TF2's movement over entirely as it would immediately put a massive advantage in the hands of the few people who learnt it from TF2, which is a great way to drive new players away from your big multiplayer game.
Maybe this is all a ploy to drive up more interest in Titanfall itself. Snatch up the BR kiddies with Apex Legends, and then get them all to move over to Titanfall 3 if we ever get that. Introduce them to some real fun and crazy movement mechanics while driving up sales and interest for an IP that's been terribly managed from a marketing standpoint thanks to EA. Apex Legends is fun, but only really with friends (which I know isn't saying a lot because ANYTHING can be fun with friends). Solo, it just feels dull to me, like playing a BR that has better weapon handling, more speed, and sliding. Nothing really groundbreaking or exciting. It opens up a bit more of its potential though when you're playing with your friends and coordinate yourselves. It's definitely more of a group game than PUBG or Fortnite is, which is both a strength and a weakness. It's a strength in that it encourages actual cooperative play (instead of just joining a squad to raise your chances of winning the game), but it's a weakness in that a majority of people who play BR games play them solo, and also the fact that with these "hero skills" in effect, it could lead the way for a sort of "hard counter" system like MOBAs or Overwatch have. The game may become less about player skill, and more about team comp, and I've personally never been one to enjoy MOBAs or Overwatch. If that ends up happening, or the microtransactions end up becoming scum (just follow Fortnite's example goddammit, why is it so hard), I'll drop the game immediately.
Maybe they're offering a watered down titanfall experience, then casually add back in movement options over time so people can get used to them.
Anyone else notice the drop sequence is really misleading as to where other squads are dropping? Seems like every other drop we go somewhere and don't see any other people near us on the drop but there's already a squad there when we land. It's really annoying and has gotten me killed far too many times.
Gonna be more pessimistic and say they would re-add them with certain characters/legends. ie. a jet-pack double jump character or a wall running and wall hanging character
So I'm enjoying Apex Legends so far but I was playing with a friend earlier and we were on teamspeak but when we talked ingame to the third randomer we noticed the horrible mic quality in-game, and now playing alone with randomers having to rely on the voice chat entirely makes it really fucking hard to understand some people who already don't have the best microphones.
Anyone on PS4 wanna play? Bonus points for mic, PSNID is Foostini

I feel legitimately sad for these sods who think Apex's current movement is speed
I am gonna say, there's all this talk about the movement and the abilities, but everyone forgets about the best features of Apex Legends. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/207991/c3c6f768-40b1-408d-b8e9-0607b159c3b2/image.png Also yeah, the voice quality is straight up Source pre-SILK codec quality (aka total ass), which makes sense because the game is running in a modified Source Engine. If only we could get access to the dev console, because I bet we could get old micspamming programs like HLSS and HLDJ to work...
https://clips.twitch.tv/ConcernedFragileTroutItsBoshyTime Here's a clip of mine. I love the wholesome gay absolute unit of a legend. Be sure to keep an eye on my guy Frothy, who was a Titanfall 2 content creator (mostly guides and "git gud" stuff). He's already posted two simple videos about tips for two legends. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cynYL1f5OPc&t=421s As he gets more footage and as he and everybody else learns more about the game his videos will have higher and higher production value, as I know him as somewhat of a perfectionist.
Ohh, I remember watching a lot of that guy's vids back when TF2 came out to figure out moving well. Glad he is enjoying the game.
Is there a reason why there are no solo or duo modes?
The hero shooter inspired classes are quite focused on trying to synergise your team abilities. I'm not sure how well it'd work solo. No reason it couldn't be offered though. How about in solo everyone gets grapple hooks and their ability. I just want more grapples.
Psuedo-Wallrunning/"hopping" has been discovered. From /vg/ You can kind-of walljump if you jump into a wall at high speed then jump when right against it. You have to face it at about 45 degrees AFAIK this is not intentional, it seems to be entering a wallclimb and then canceling it instantly You can also sort-of wallrun if you wallclimb with a lot of speed It seems that the faster you're going, the more air you get on the jump. You can also slide off one walljump in order to get speed to do another. It is possible to do this from a level run, but you won't go hugely far https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/210630/048fdf26-bfdf-4560-b53d-8fbfd0ab2b29/1549631425420.webm
I got around to trying out the Mastiff in a few late Apex matches What the fuck is this scooby doo shit, this thing just absolutely nukes the shit out of anybody's asshole
So do we want to set up an Apex Discord or should we just make an Apex channel in the current server? I'm starting to want some real co-ordination in-game
I've been loving Pathfinder. Tbh i don't find the grapple super useful because it more often then not gets me stuck on geometry and doesn't have the range i feel it should given map size, but my god is the zipline incredible. When i first started messing with him i couldn't see him being very useful in most situations cause when i think zipline irl i think going down, so when i realized you could go up them the levels of cheese in places you can reach is incredible as is using it for flanks or just faster travel.
My fav is Lifeline, dunno why but I always play healers/medics, i guess i just like healing
I bought caustic with the coins you get for having origin access and he just seems super situational, his poison is basically a smoke grenade he can see in and it does a very small amount of damage. Most of the free characters are infinitely more useful
I've not played as caustic yet but from clips i've seen it seemed like the gas slowed the enemies down, or is that just the screen effect making it look like that?
