You beat the wave survival with less than 60 handgun shots, I believe. Unless you're talking about the main game, where infinite ammo is item specific and does require solid rank completions, yes.
S Rank Standard for the Infinite Handgun, S Hardcore for the Infinite SMG, S+ Leon's campaign for Infinite Rocket Launcher, and S+ Claire's for Infinite Minigun. Plus break all of the Mr. Raccoon's for the infinite Knife.
What can lower the rank? aside from saves and time?
Infinite guns.
just browsing through the thread, wtf this is real? I saw it for a brief moment at the end of Leon A and thought I was losing my fucking mind

I threw on a trainer to do some silly runs of Ghost survivors with only grenades, it’s the funniest shit
What, Tofu? Yes it's side content that existed since the OG RE2. Is the screenshot real? No.
Ah I see. I'm new to the series with this and RE7 so I'm not up to date with the peculiar shit like this
Just to give you a quick lesson: Tofu in the original Resident Evil 2 was used to test collisions for the maps. The developers decided to make a parody of Hunk's 4th Survivor mini-game with it and was quite infamous because your only weapon is a knife, but you have a lot of health to compensate. In Resident Evil 2 Remake, they added it as, again, a parody of Hunk's 4th Survivor mini-game, but this time with more knife to use as counter. You can also unlock more variation of Tofu with different weapons after you beat it.
Alright guys, i figured for anyone whose following this thread still i just wanted to give the heads up that there is currently a move happening between FP to Knockout (NEW FP). And i figured it would be best to get this moved over to the new forum immediately rather then later. Here's the link https://knockout.chat/thread/179/1#post-1819
Going through my Leon A run, I'm a little annoyed to find out the Matilda stock has a hidden effect that speeds up the focus time on repeated shots, I didn't use it all during Leon B (Yes sometimes I pulled the Matilda out because I ran out of M19 ammo :v) because I thought the 3-round burst option was all it did and that wasn't worth the extra inventory space. I could've done so much better with it if I'd known that. Do any of the other optional weapon mods have hidden effects like that?
It's not really a hidden effect, that's what stocks are for. Steadying your aim.
I've finally done it. I've completed all the Resident Evil games I could, one after the other, in quick succession and in chronological order of the story, most of them for the first time. That's all the numbered games, minus 3 (waiting for the remake), plus the two Revelations. So I guess I've earned the right to enter this thread. Here's my preference order: 2 (remake) > 4 > 1 > 7 > 6 > 0 > Rev1 > Rev2 > 5 2 Remake was like absolute perfection to me. It is visually stunning, it is terribly immersive, amazing fun, it hits all the right notes as to what RE means to me, from beginning to end. I would be ready to kill to make Capcom remake 1, 3, CV and 0 in the same style. As for the rest; the first 4 games in the list are those I would objectively call masterpieces and have a hard time choosing which one is the best. Also best protagonist: Joe Baker because all the other characters look like little pussies in comparison. That guy would walk right up to Mister X and punch him faster and harder than he would the other way around.
There's also giant version of the tribal enemies that wear comically stereotypical (and, as I've heard from someone with a background in tribe study, nonsensically obnoxious) bulletproof masks and go WULULUL at you.
It will forever remain in my memory
I'm assuming you're playing everything on PC? Such a shame that there's no proper means to play CV on a computer (AFAIK), it's such a good game and probably one of my favorite RE games overall. I'd kill for a Joe Baker vs RE5 Chris fist fight
Yeah I played them all on PC, I've heard that CV is a better RE3 than RE3, and I hope Capcom won't neglect to remake it just because it's not numbered. Get Leon out of here, this is what the fans really want to see.
5 so far down the list is a shame. The coop was really fun. Sheva is also a great character, hope we see her again.
While I agree Sheva was a great character, I still can't help but laugh at the fact she was put in to make the game seem less racist.
My main issue with 5 was the setting. Resident Evil is absolutely brilliant when it comes to taking places that should either be artistically impressive or in the contrary, calm and uneventful and turning them into ominous places where danger could come from any corner. The mansions and the labs had been done ad nauseam, but RE4 still had great locations that had this feeling like the old church and village and the ancient castle of course. But the shanty-towns and industrial locations of RE5... No thank you, that's really not what RE is about for me. The DLC fixed that a little and it was nice but too short. Also no puzzles except those 10 minutes of super-easy puzzles they threw in in the middle of the game.
The early footage of Chris alone fighting a horde of like 20 enemies honestly looked really cool. RE4 and RE2 both kinda prove the series is better as a single player survival game and not a coop action shooter with horror.
People always did say the main series should be singleplayer, and keep the co-op to the spinoffs. Then the spinoffs crashed and burned and no one's complaining about wanting co-op in Remake 2.
Honestly the entire initial premise of the game sounds interesting and how everything was supposed to play out, and it featured our favorite boy, The Merchant.
As someone who really loved The Evil Within 1 & 2 (which were basically spiritual successors to RE4) I might be pretty biased on loving over the shoulder single player survival games. Like who doesn't adore Dead Space? And 3, the co-op-lite one, is the weakest in my opinion.
Dead Space 1 & 2 were fantastic games. Shame we're never gonna see another one.
Judging from how videogames go these days we'll probably see another really good dead space in like 15 years. Dead Space Remake
the end goal of the villains of Evil Within 2 seriously could have been one of the coolest ways to get to an “oh god the stakes have never been higher” without permanently having a world changing event that makes the scale broken in future titles like what happened with RE. RE 6 has utterly broken the stakes, four million people died in a single cutscene during the evacuation. All because a guy couldn’t fuck Ada Wong
I dunno, that seems like a pretty good reason to me.
