Your behaviors is quite sarcastic, sorry for the misunderstanding then. I have a point of view and I simply wished to defend it, and you not mentioning who you were talking about did not help.
Actually something I am really, really looking forward to is seeing people who got into RE with 7 or RE2make having to deal with Nemesis. Seeing the reactions of non-RE fans to Mr. X for the first time was a joy.
"Shift in tone" is pretty exaggerated, but it is very much how I feel about then: The game really become more action-focused is what I should have said, and that could possibly be an hint to the serie's
future at the time.
I'm surprised no one argued about my criticism of the final part of RE1 and RE2 being somewhat similars because they aren't quite as good as the manor/residence or the R.P.D compared to the umbrella lab. Raccoon city was sick and I'd considers it the second part of RE2. Really cool how you transition throught different environment in each game.
Yeah man what a shit game.
Just like that Resident Evil 1. The tone completely changes once you leave the mansion grounds and go to the lab. The game even ends with a countdown timer and a boss fight that you beat with a rocket launcher. Fucking action games man.
Games shouldn't change as you play them, they should stay the same from start to end. That's how you build a memorable experience.
RE4's shift in tone on the island is jarring as fuck, though, and it's pretty clear there was a divide in the structure of the tone for that last segment. Not least the fact it was on another disk on the Gamecube.
Though I still love the Island segments, it feels like a much different game and feels way closer to RE5 than it does its own game, RE4, to me.
saw a bit of RE3 the other day on a video talking about a remake and REmake2, I think it was Caddycarus' review, showed a bit of Nemesis coming after Jill and JESUS FUCK THAT HUGE GUY IN A TRENCHCOAT WITH A ROCKET LAUNCHER RUNS FAST AS FUCK
the fucker started walking and all of a sudden started running like a truck out of control, how the hell are they gonna keep him balanced in the remake, getting clothelined by that thing will cut you in half!
What a misrepresentation of my argument. As if the only change you could do to the game is changing the tone of the game and not other thing, such as adding new mechanic that makes it harder over
time. No, of course, the fact I did not like the tone shift in Resident Evil 4 means that I want stagnant games that never impress the players with new thing or elements all-game long, from what your
(irritating) post wish to imply.
RE3 has a dodge system specifically designed for Nemesis, so I figure they'll bring it back.
The whole game has an action focus. Literally your solution to every problem that isn't a blatant puzzle is to shoot everything until it's dead.
Which is also how you dealt with most things in RE2 and RE3. In the original RE2 you get the SMG pretty early, and it's not a peashooter. Hell you even get an inventory boost that pretty much lets you take it for free.
Re4 is a master piece of horror, action, and self-aware camp
I guess, but it still sounds like it would render Nemesis' speed useless, or just not do anything to it.
I like his speed tbh. It's horribly fun to watch Mr.Giggles making a B line like a train towards you.
I do not think that Resident Evil 4 is a bad game at all. It is an excellent game, it is my favorite one. Only that I haven't played the original RE2 much after the R.P.D i've been speedin up after finishing RE1
Nah, it was very timing-specific and took a decent amount of practice to master, that and not all of his attacks can be dodged with just the dodge mechanics, some of them rely on you actually getting the fuck away from him. I suggest giving RE3 a try, the PC port tends to work OK aside from resolution issues.
PSN ok?
I got the trilogy on ps3 through psn
most contact I had was watching super best friends play it
I can't imagine the PSN version has any issues, though I've heard it has censored decapitations, but that might only be in JP.
I'll give you that a rather unremarkable militaristic island is a far less unique and haunting horror videogame setting than, say, a filthy and bloody yer olde European village and an unsettling and dangers-ridden medieval castle, but you got some guts if you can't find the prospect of fighting a slowly walking, barely human frost-bitten corpse which is nigh-invulnerable unless shot properly and can impale you upon contact at the very least unplesant
If there's one thing I appreciate with the Resident Evil series, for better or worse it's not afraid to shift its gears and experiment with its setting and genre, keeping each game in the series somewhat its own unique thing. We had a proto-FPS-light gun shooter in the form of Survivor, Code Veronica and Dead Aim. We had a pretty much ahead of its time co-op survival horror experience in the form of Outbreak. An on-rails retelling of the main games with the Chronicles games. Even if they were total failures, we even had a straight up action 3rd person shooter with Operation Raccoon City and the pseudo-tactical arcade competitive hybrid of Umbrella Corps.
Whether any of their releases turn out to be a success or a failure, they keep trying something new with each individual game having their own flavor. The bad games that came out also manage to hurt less because of the recent success of the latest releases such as Revelations 2, RE7 and RE2 Remake.
Can anyone remind me all the requirements to get an S+ ?
I'm about to start my first hardcore run. Wish me luck.
S+-Rank Standard: Scenario A = Under 3 hours and 30 minutes
S+-Rank Standard: Scenario B = Under 3 hours
S+-Rank Hardcore: Scenario A = Under 2 hours and 30 minutes
S+-Rank Hardcore: Scenario B = Under 2 hours
You're only limited to 3 saves. You can't use any of the infinite weapon rewards with the exception of the Infinite Knife.
I think they recently added achievements for Ghost Survivors. Might be coming soon.
Didn't they announced it'd be on the 15th this month? (Though sooner wouldn't hurt too)
They said it was coming on the fifteenth.
I feel you on most of the RE games having their last segment or area feel rushed, but RE4s later parts not being memorable is just super wrong. That game is solid from start to finish.
Downloaded the first person mod, thought I'd try out Birkin 4 and 5 to see if it's any better and oh man it is

Shit I misremembered it being 3 hours and a half for hardcore oh god oh fuck. That's gonna be fun.
