TBH, I don't think it's that bad of a cover. It's not great, but I've seen much worse.
The only thing that's weird about it is Claude being upside down and his bow being misaligned in the center. Had they just flipped Claude and had him switch places with the PCs and castle, it would have been perfectly fine imo.

To be fair, it's probably advantageous for Nintendo to space out their games over the long term, since we already have Mario Odyssey, Breath of the Wild, Smash Ultimate, and Pokemon Let's Go all in the first two years of the system, with other heavy hitters such as Mario Maker 2, Animal Crossing, and Pokemon Sword/Shield coming this year too.

I kinda wonder how platinum is holding up honestly. I know NieR saved them but I can't shake the feeling that there's some bad shit happening to the studio- even with Astral Chain getting released this year.
Wonderful 101 has been teased for over a year now at this point and nothing. Bayo 3 is in development hell with his lead designer resigning and I *hear* there's still some fallout from Scalebound getting killed even though that was awhile back.
