Hmmm a more powerful switch. Hopefully the difference isn't too major.
And for anybody who is thinking about going "wow nintendo really scammed us all i should have held out, anybody who bought the original model is a sucker", please remember that the Switch will have been out for almost three years by the time these revisions come out, assuming they drop around the end of the year.
I still think it's too early for a hardware revision, I think doing one in 3 or 4 years would be more acceptable.
The WSJ says the cheaper model will omit the vibration feature, suggesting that it won’t have detachable Joy-Con controllers at all; it’s said to be seen as a successor to the 3DS. Nikkei reported earlier this year that Nintendo was planning to release a smaller Switch with a focus on portability.
Interesting.
So they're pulling a 2DS by dropping the titular gimmick? Quick thought exercise, everyone.
What do you call a Nintendo Switch that's always docked?
What do you call a Nintendo Switch that can't be docked?
Switch Lite and Switch XL.
I feel kind of burned, I just got my Switch in December. I guess I should have waited.
There's no way they'd ditch the actual docking part, particularly when it's a fairly trivial aspect to it.. The only thing that's going to go is detachable joycons and features like the IR and HD rumble.

The WSJ reported a very similar thing back in October. I'll believe it when I see it.

One of my all-time favorite games is coming to the Switch(and is also getting a steam update at the same date.)
I heavily recommend picking it up!
Finally, jesus christ. I remember this being announced around the launch of the Switch.
The Swiitch.
Will there be online multiplayer though?
Yes. Also the level editor.
I'm so glad the switch seems to be getting all these games like Duck Game, Castle Crashers, and Cuphead that seem utterly PERFECT for a console whose entire gimmick is "you can have two controllers for co-op anywhere you want".
I would like to add that a another Couch co-op multiplayer game is coming to Switch apparently

I'm playing mario maker on the 3ds coz I don't feel like paying a hundred dollars for a replacement WiiU tablet and unlocking all the parts for the editor is fucking arduous. I really hope they don't have some bullshit unlock system in mario maker 2. I just wanna make levels and play user levels, really not interested in the pre built levels.
If they let us make level select worlds I'll fuckin nut super hard.
oooh, small brain, I was the one that was in the wrong thread
Not often do you see the Switch game next to the others
Yoshi's Crafted World for Switch Reviews
Yoshi getting some good reviews
Totally off-topic but it really pleases me that Nintendo brands the Switch with bold red now instead of the weak-ass white and blue from the Wii/Wii U era. There's something very satisfying about the three big brands being red, green, and blue in the console space.
Found my wii in a cupboard and had some friends over to play wii sports resort and had a fucking blast. Golf and Bowling are my absolute favorite. Come on nintendo I'm fiending for some 1080p sports minigames.
