from my offhand memory, major directs are usually either on wednesday or thursdays, and announced anywhere from a few days prior to the day before. announcement tomorrow for one on thurs would be fairly likely, imo.
Would Nintendo really announce an ALttP remake while the Link's Awakening remake isn't even out yet? It seems like they would cannibalize each other. Same shit was in persona 3. I never played 4 coz I've long lost my ps3 and never got a vita but it's definitely a "persona" thing.
JRPGs that have the same type of story beats in different timelines with different features from game to game get me fuckin goin. It's just the right kind of "more of the same" with enough variation to keep you on your toes story and mechanic wise.
The one shit I want japanese devs/pubs like atlus to adopt from western game development is the porting and rereleasing shit. I bought persona 5 for 20 bucks on PS4 but I know for a fuckin fact they're gonna get me to double dip (and I know that they're going to shaft us because the switch isn't going to get the royal version they just announced) because the long form JRPG shit works so much better on the switch where I can play on the go and just suspend it and throw it in my backpack between classes or when I'm bumming around downtown.
Atlus will really get my titties going if they release an amiibo line to go with the release of persona 5 switch.
