That's weird, I'm running it on ultra at 70+ FPS on my 1070
Yeah I am too now, because the fucking pirated copy actually fucking works. I'm beyond fucking annoyed.
Is it Denuvo's fault or something else?
Hope I'm not the only one that got a chuckle at the fact every computer in the game is an IBM PCjr.
What the fuck, my game froze so I had to manually reset the computer
Now my save file settings are reset from Ranger Hardcore to Normal, can only change to Hardcore...
I can't say one way or the other because the only game with Denuvo I have purchased is Hitman2 and it ran flawlessly. My sample size isn't large enough to say for sure and it seems like this specific game has been a bit of a problem on launch anyway if my googling has revealed anything.
Man
I'm super conflicted.
On the one hand, I absolutely loved experiencing more of the outside world, the characters - albeit cheesy - felt really genuine and in places - wholesome. I enjoyed a lot of aspects but I think the final level really showed that Metro plays best when it's a little bit more on rails. Don't get me wrong - I think what they tried to do with the open world elements was fantastic, but I think they should reign it in a bit if they do another one.
I think the designers missed the mark that Metro absolutely shined when you were with a companion with something to add to the environment. Even Miller was a welcome companion in claustrophobic levels, even if he was a bit poorly written on that last one.
One thing that really annoys me is the story didn't go anywhere beyond surface level. I had realy hopedthat we might experience more about The Dark Ones, Khan & other mystical things but it wasn't much more beyond a Mad Макс. This is 10000000% my biggest gripe with the whole story.
Also that bad ending is fucking terrifying and actually made me uncomfortable. I got the good ending, which was bittersweet - but fucking hell the other option was grim as shit.
I hope this isn't the end and they continue to give the series justice. I'm just not sure how at this point. They 100% didn't do enough supernatural stuff, which is a HUGE shame and one of the biggest letdowns.
Me after going through Novosibirsk. I mean fucking hell, what kind of bomb did they drop on it for the place to be completely intact but irradieted beyond measure? That's just pure evil.

So after around 5 hours in the spring part, I got a gamebreaking bug where Artyom can't interact, can't use weapons or anything. I've already had to restart the "winter" part 3 times due to DX12 and driver issues, this is getting silly. Since I'm playing on Ranger Hardcore I don't have any other saves/checkpoints.
I've tried what google tells me, drowning myself in water, attempting to interact with a bed (can't). I just don't want to have to replay the game again... Anyone knows a trick or something?
You can restart chapters but really drowning doesn't work? that's what the other guy said worked
Tried drowning myself near the shore in the Caspian Sea, no luck. I really don't want to restart the chapter.
Might be the only option sorry brother.
I suppose so, ragequit it is for now. I've had so many issues with this game and this is the peak I can handle at the moment. Out of desperation I tweeted the metro devs to see if they have any inside knowledge. I'm posting the tweet here if any kind soul wants to help signal boost it to them.

Anyone else got this weird bug where you can't use any scopes other than the reflex sight because the fucking guns jump back and forth like crazy when you ADS? Or is that just me?
It doesn't disappear if I load a save, quit the game, restart chapter, doesn't matter. So I just ended up having to use the reflex sight the whole game so far, no biggie but kinda annoying.
The drown technique might work here, hard in that level
I'm going to be honest, don't go for the good ending on your first run, there are so many really cool environments for shootouts, but don't you dare hurt anyone!!!
the only time you actually can't kill anyone without affecting things is the cultists at the church in Winter and the tribesmen in Taiga, other than that and two smallish areas in Caspian you can go as loud and lethal as you want. bandits in particular are always fine to go loud with afaik
I really didn't pay much attention to who I was killing beyond "if they're not horrible people I don't kill them"
The children of the forest are exactly that, children, and the slaves are slaves.
Everyone else was either a complete phsycho, cannibal or rapist.
it's so great how you don't even have the option of stealth or pacifism in Yamantau, it's like "yeah of course you're just gonna ice these motherfuckers, go nuts". the music that plays in that mission is so fucking badass too:

Nah, hasn't worked either. I can't find anything that fixes it. I even tried restarting the game from the beginning early on, the second I got the 4x scope I equipped it and it was still jumpy so idk.
never shoot forest babies
I think Steve Blum also voices him in the russian dub, but i'm not certain. Sounds a lot like him if not, though
The evil ending is kinda awesome so don't feel bad guys.
Fucking Winnie the Pooh voices Silantius.
Steve Blum has been in all three games afaik
The second tribesmen's base in Taiga (Pirates, I think?), I had to go loud as fuck. Didn't realize I can't go back and sleep, so had to go grab the boat during the day. Got tired of being shot at and murdered them all. Still got the good
ending.
Having played the past two and picked up this one, I have a honestly dumb complaint: the characters talk TOO much. It feels like a cheap attempt at characterization where I've likely spent more than a hour of ingame time standing and reading subtitles waiting to get into the nitty gritty again. I love the free roam on the train and intermittent interactions, but any time anyone starts talking mid-gameplay or as I am starting to pick back up to do something it makes me groan. Really wish they'd characterize in better ways.
You can go back actually. I thought the same as you and thought I was fucked but there actually is a way back up to that little pagoda with the zip line and bed. Was a good thing I went back and double checked.
I made this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6dgTVZLjBw
And I was like "oh I'm gonna do a version with all the of different train only scenes like this!"
Then I noticed in the train sequence from the first level to the first open area they were smoking out the front where I could get the angle, "oh its all good I'll just wait for them to finish their conversations"
They legit have enough conversations just for that one bit to last up to 30 mins, no joke, go to that part and time em, it's stupid.
Beat the game, got the good ending. Got teary-eyed, honestly.
Fantastic game.
Also, spoilers

That final level was all over the place. I don't know how I feel about it.
Also there seems to have been a shitload of cut guns, including a pneumatic flamethrower that is completely functional and takes attachments
