His reasoning of leaving didnt really have much to do with Valve being lazy
what about the reasoning of throwing away all his videos
Yeah, you're not getting the point. I'm talking about the fact that I don't have these issues in my local servers when people complaining about them are getting them in their local servers, not that why these issues only happen in far away servers.
Valve should remove cl_interp and keep cl_interp_ratio, like they originally intended (to remove cl_interp and replace it with cl_interp_ratio). Cl_interp somehow managed to snuck in the game when it was launched.
I mean you don't even know what a local server is, so it's no wonder there's some confusion here.
I was making a joke you dingus, of course the wiki isn’t a paid job.
I guess that kinda went over your head there eh? *woosh*
your personal experiences are not universal, I've seen plenty of Euro players complain about facestabs and interp spies
Local server/listen server/LAN server- I know what it means.
But in that post I meant "local server" as a "local region server".
I'm not saying they're universal, just wanted to bring my thoughts out there. It might be because I'm using good net settings. And interp spies obviously still exist in the servers I play: huge interp is going to lag no matter what.
Also give Engineer the market pardner. I want to put soldiers in their place without having to rely on random crits.
most people have default net settings, loads of people play on wireless, a lot of people have both of these
is it any wonder why people complain
Turn the caber into the market gardener.
Nah, it's fun for the Demo to actually have an explosive melee. Just revert its nerfs, if it's still a problem with sticky jumper demos make it so the sticky jumper doesn't disable all damage taken from any explosions
I don't know why you insist for the MG when it's
a. not actually difficult to pull off unlike popular belief.
b. not particularly fun to face and is pretty much an aerial spy.
with stickies that'd greatly extend the range for it too.
I think Bleeding shouldn't have been added to the game.
Is there a single weapon with bleed that is good designed? Plus, people do have distaste for DoT in TF2.
I maintain that the Caber needs any deploy/swing speed penalties removed and add the following stats:
-50% damage to Medics
+300% damage to Snipers
The weapon will be perfect then.
Camping fucking bastards.
Literally all of them are well-designed. People have complaints about them, but they'er well-designed. Tribalman's is literally just an anti-spy sniper knife, engineer's SH is the same, Boston Basher is a gimmick-y but fun weapon. Wrap Assassin and Cleaver are both well-designed, they're just unbalanced. Their bleed effect needs to reset a bleed DoT instead of stacking, and Cleaver just needs a nerf in its uptime.
There are more pressing weapon design issues than bleed. There's no issue with the DoT in and of itself, it gives classes that aren't pyro the ability to deal DoT without invalidating pyro as a class (especially since flames got semi-buffed to nerf healing).
bleed in its current form is not good at all and is too similar to afterburn. All of the bleed weapons are garbage and are not used much if at all.
The cleaver is the biggest bleed offender but it's not actually because of bleed. It's because it's a unavoidable lightning-fast projectile that recharges every 5 seconds or so. Bleed is just icing on the cake.
There is no trendy consensus that bleed is OP, don't try to make it happen.
Oh, no, I definitely do not think bleed is OP.
DoT in general is not a great mechanic in TF2. It's one of the core flaws with pyro. Most classes are good at spike damage. Heavy is good at sustained damage if he can track.
Pyro can keep you in an annoyed state after you've broken LoS/moved out the way/killed him. That's actually how I think of Pyro. Not super effective, but a ball of annoyance in the middle of the battlefield.
Scout can be insanely irritating with the cleaver and christmas ornament, especially when pairing the two. The Wrap Assassin IS a ranged weapon, at least for bleed purposes.
fair point.
Comp players also say Wrap is disgustingly broken and the potential is probably there. though personally I've never seen any instance of a wrap scout making a big impact on a game.
The bauble explosion was actually a nerf seeing as how you can't just immediately pick it up and have another go for a direct hit.
It gives Scout a much more effective damage range if you can master the arc. Combine it with the cleaver and you can basically kill most light classes with the two and maybe a stray bullet or two. They do disgusting damage for how much uptime they have.
I found vaccinator to be a fun, engaging mix-up to the usual healing antics; it added a layer of interactivity when it came to healing and pocketing people, sort of like the medic was micro-managing a little minigame ontop of balancing his usual situation awareness. I really, reeeally love the involvement it has by testing my reflexes on the fly; its just a shame that it ends up being not so fun in practice for opposing players.
Its a really fun concept that i'd like to see in another type of game where it wouldn't be as much of a detriment to the fun of other players. Perhaps a PvE type of game, where the healer has an incentive to be quick with their thinking and reaction times.
Well it's very useful is Mann vs Machines! Usually my go-to medigun for Metro Malice and Hamlet Hostility, until late game when I switch to the Quick Fix for shield bashing.
I'm trying.
They should hire you, your work is fantastic.
I've said this before: The irony of TF2 is that it makes so much money its earnings would be the wet dream of any indie studio, and most AAA ones as well. Conversely, the game makes so little money compared to the rest of Valve's revenue sources (CSGO, Dota2, Steam itself) that it's barely a footnote on a ledger somewhere.
I wonder whose fault it is

in what fucking world is tf2 an mmo
TF2 is a live service game. It's (heh) "constantly" updated with the idea that the player base will continually put money into it. The Mann Co. Store, MvM, the SCM, and "new" cosmetic cases all illustrate this fact. The system works quite well, except for the "update" part.
This really isn't up for debate.
MMO = massive multiplayer online
massive = synonym of big
multiplayer = aka not singleplayer
online = opposite of offline
So most of them I'd guess.
Never in my LIFE have I heard MMO refer to a game that doesn't involve huge numbers of players in the same server.
