TF2 General Chat & Speculation Station V17 - Ms. Pauling Won't Stop Calling Me

That's true, too. I remember playing competitive and encountering a cheating sniper. So we just decided to stay in spawn; The cheater would continue to encourage us to play against him, using the vaccinator to counter his cheats. These people *want* to see other players squirm in their "power" to, I suppose, get that feeling given they can't get it outside of a videogame.
Hah. Cheaters seek attention right up until the point they don't want it anymore. Let's have a little fun, shall we?
"Oops, I made my profile private." He also changed his name. Weirdly he set it to match this guy. I found the second dude because the first has a kunai gifted from him. Hilariously, the second "klown" has Kunai with over 200,000 kills on it.
nah, its just straight about fucking with people. when peope deal with frustration they either quit or aim to improve.
those who hack either openly or discretely only aim towards ruining other people's experience, nothing less, nothing more.
I blame a lot of the hacking on skilled toxic players. Nothing is more frustrating than getting dunked on and being belittled at the same time. It's basically bullying. So people rage hack in order to feel better.
a true beacon of ethics you are my friend. the world thanks you for your troubles.
It's your fault I'm incapable of accepting loss! A few assholes makes it okay for me to ruin the experience of everyone, you see.
Cheaters lack empathy for the other people they're playing with. They solely care about their own enjoyment. If you gave a shit about other people, you wouldn't play dirty; the golden rule is a simple principle most people can learn from.
Cheaters put themselves over others, because they have no respect or care for other people they play against. Some are even sadistic enough to get enjoyment out of frustrating others. Others are so weak that they need to feed their ego by winning, all the while downplaying the crutch their cheats gave them. They may try to justify their cheats, or shift the blame of cheating due to "other cheaters", but ultimately cheating is a sign of insecurity; a cheater is not confident enough in his own skill, and values winning much more than playing fair and hates losing even more.
To me, someone who cheats is someone I'd not want to associate with, because there is a serious character flaw that drives someone to do that.
Of course, by cheating I mean in a multiplayer match; go nuts cheating in a sandbox single player game or co-op with willing friends in a private match, you're not harming anyone there.
Gee, thanks Valve!
Not gonna lie, if there were no repercussions for it I'd aim-bot for a match or two
I mean, a super skilled toxic player can ruin the experience for other players as well. It's all about what end you're on.
You seem like a bad person.
Yes, and that justifies the guarantee that you will ruin the game by cheating?
It's enough justification for the cheater. Cheating is ultimately a selfish act and I can understand why people do it: it's a form of empowerment amidst a sea of frustration.

I reported these and CriticalFlaw fixed them
I half-wished the TF2 Team would grace us with 20 lines of "Added community medal for X event/tournament/contest" because it would've been hilarious to see after the long long drought of updates.
At that point you'd surely realise the game isn't for you and move on to something you enjoy more, no?
I don't see any justifcation in wanting to cheat because you keep dying or losing in a video game. You learn and get better or move on.
There is no defending cheating in multiplayer matches, you drag everyones enjoyment down just so you can fulfil an ego issue you have.
I know from personal experience with a friend whom on the regular played TF2 years ago who genuinely took the game too seriously.
He'd insult any and every player who killed him, didn't matter how he died it was them using a crutch, his team's fault or even my fault.
And to boil it all down; he wasn't very good at the game, at all. I tried training and teaching him but he refused to. Because in his eyes, he had nothing to get better at. He was already 'good'
The many times he'd get autobalanced and have to face me were one of the most worrying parts when playing with him, because he used to get so depressed each time I killed him.
And even missing shots on purpose just so he could kill me wasn't enjoyable, he'd just scream down the mic about how much he owned me and how my playtime meant nothing.
It got to the point where the friend bought a cheat just so he could feel some sort of satisfaction as he became an unflinching god in the game, with none of the effort or skill.
I obviously reported him because I wasn't standing for this shit, and his account got VAC'd.
The point I'm trying to make is it seems to always be an ego problem.
The only solution is to stop playing, play something you enjoy rather than bring everyone else's enjoyment of the game down with you.

Wanna whip our medals out and see who's bigger?
lol
Man. I take a quick nap and the biggest update TF2 has had in months drops. I wish I were kidding.
Well there we have it. The first automated tf2 update.
I'm fairly certain there weren't any humans involved in this, that would require us to have a dev team.
knock it off
It would actually be extremely impressive if they had genuinely automated a patch like this
We've got one of our April Fools medals modeled... but I just can't shake this feeling that it looks like Mitch McConnell.
