AFAIK updates aren't automated. In fact, a bot wouldn't remove Sketchek's Bequest from the Axtinguisher.

I don't think the two are mutually exclusive. TF2 is an old game and most people have PCs that can run current games; TF2 is a bit of an unoptimized spaghetti-code mess but it's still not a demanding game to run, so it doesn't affect people as much as it would with 2007 appropriate PCs.

Pro tip: You'll notice there's both a "tf" and a "tf2" folder in some areas of /se2007/game. You're gonna want to go with "tf". The "tf2" folders contain the source code of the "Invasion" development phase of TF2 when there was aliens and humans. If you want an idea of what that version of TF2 was going to be like, go play Nuclear Dawn. It's pretty much the same thing. Both games share features like tech trees, a real-time overhead "commander" system where the commander player can build buildings and defenses and such, etc.
That code is from 2008, and is nowhere near representative of where TF2 is today.

I've said this in the past but using r/tf2 is hardly any kind of reliable source of data.
On the "Payment Cards" tab I can see my VISA card. But there are two boxes that say [Set buy orders] and [verify address]. The first one says: "You can't use this until you verify your address". Second one says "This card either does not support address verification or we cannot deliver a verification postard to this card's address.". I was charged the two transactions "MPLACE TF*xx" and a final one simply called "MPLACE TF" with the right amount [Mann Co Key] on my currency. Finally, the webpage told me "Sorry, something went wrong: Something went wrong" without giving my the item. I think it must be related to this card system.
It's a somewhat new credit card that is managed by an app called MACH by a chilean bank called BCI. It allows chileans to access services like spotify and netflix by setting up a virtual credit card and adding funds in our currency, then the chilean pesos is translated to dollars after every transaction. The app says that the transactions of MPLACE aren't definitive and can change over the course of 1 or 10 days.
I'm sorry if that's too much info, but I didn't had problems with über or spotify in the past.

Yes, and you can thank Jugador for that. They're allowing me to use it on my server.
Because of their server plugins I've also cracked the code on how to make Syringe Guns actually fun to use, give Heavy a projectile minigun, nerf Sniper, give Spy a permanent silent killer attribute, and much more.
