When did he tease Blue Moon? Couldn't find a tweet like that.
He did on his streams, I remember him talking about a competitive update that was well, blue moon update (and literally how it was called on the blog)
It would be great if someone had the source.
I remember something similar was said about b4nny talking about an update, but it was wrong.
alright so your thesis is that tf2 is considered (by you) abandonware because it doesn't have updates? man, quite a bold statement.
they're gonna upload tf2 on abandonia any minute now
the only way you can access tf2's site is the wayback machine and you can't even play tf2 on a windows 7 computer no more, you gotta get a vm or buy a $50 windows vista machine to run it properly or your entire system sets on fire
He is referring to what we already know, nothing more.
anyone knows if ScummVM runs TF2? asking for a friend thanks
There's a VNN video about B4nny talking about the next balance update on one of his streams from March 5th 2018 (Blue Moon shipped March 28th 2018):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KMUBnVsNdQ&feature=youtu.be&t=2m26s
Did he post something else about it? If anyone knows about an upcoming update I would expect it to be B4nny since the TF2 team seems to run balance changes by him.
was it ever confirmed that engineer's pistol reloads slower than scout's? this could use a fix
The Wiki's weapon table for the pistol lists the Scout's pistol reload time as 1.25 seconds, and Engineer's as 1.36 seconds. I was a little curious about that myself after you said it, so I took the liberty of splicing together both reloads from the Weapon Demonstration video, and it does seem like there's a brief moment of time where Scout's finishes first.
Always thought this was intended.
the exact same weapon is intended to behave different for no reason?
especially when valve has made the same messy mistake with shotguns years ago, having them all behave in weird different ways until at some point they decided to rectify this and make all stock shotguns unified and consistent no matter the class?
I believe they intended to balance Engie's massive ammo reserve with slower reload.
I beg to differ, objectively your opinion is far from being objectively objective.
Remember when Gun Mettle dropped and a Scout could kill an Engie, pick up his pistol and get his reserve ammo? Boy THAT was fun...
sorry no, wrangler and circuits are straight upgrades and even FP's cute little "go-against-the-flow"' hivemind won't change that.
only genuinely bad players could actually believe a large ammo reserve is proportional to the power of a weapon. this isn't your best moment my dudes.
Have you seen the Spy and Sniper debates?
yes
it's always unexperienced players vs experienced players so these debates actually end fast, fortunately.
The insane ammo reserve that the Engie Pistol offers is really not relevant on a class that can, you know, construct a building that provides infinite ammo. About the only time I use a pistol as Engineer is when I'm going Widowmaker/Gunslinger. It's good to have a reliable ammo supply when I (invariably) fuck up my Widowmaker shots and run out of metal.
Could you perhaps elaborate who are the unexperienced players? I believe that most if not all the regulars here are rather experienced to speak about balance, don't you think?
I'm not sure where does that attitude come from, but nobody was arguing against your opinion, only that it's subjective just like any other. Apparently we're a hivemind because... nobody... disagreed with you?
And nobody said either that Engie's pistol's reserve ammo is equivalent to its strength, only that its slightly-longer reload speed might've been because of it, which apparently warrants generalizing the people who participate on the discussion as "bad players". Come on now.
I suppose getting trolled puts me on the defensive alarmingly fast nowadays, yes.
Apologies.
Curious, what would you consider the worst engineer secondary?
Wanting to shoot people when FJ or Widowmaker are unfeasible.
better off reloading 1 FJ shot and shoot it, especially w/ crits.
if you find yourself constantly drained by widow misses, then you probably shouldn't use widow at all.
It's not a matter of being "constantly drained", it's a fact that if you are using the widowmaker, you will sometimes be out of ammo. You're constantly making a choice between spending metal on bullets or buildings. Sometimes your team really needs a teleporter, or you really want to defend some particular area with a level 2. If metal management weren't a challenge that sometimes leaves you without ammo, the widow would be a straight upgrade in every way. Having a pistol on widow is generally the best way to use widowmaker, because leaving yourself completely up shit creek from time to time isn't worth it to improve your holds when using a gun that's not very good for holds anyway.
Not to mention that in cases where your sentry doesn't have an angle on somebody, no pistol on widow leaves you with zero ranged options, because shooting somebody at mid-long range with the shotgun rapidly depletes your ammo pool and then leaves you completely SOL.
Wrangler is OP but some loadouts are much better off with pistol.
If you foresee these situations and aren't aggressive enough to actually gain consistent benefits from widow, again you probably shouldn't use it.
I believe it's well known that widow works best with gunslinger so using it with a fully fledged nests is a pretty big risk pistol or no.
Widow and jag is perfectly viable, messing with the enemy on the flank is the bread and butter of the widow and jag makes levels 2s on the flank a powerful tactic. But it's a bad idea without a pistol. Even with gunslinger giving up all ranged capabilities outside of wrangling minis is a pretty dicey proposition, all it takes to make you utterly defenseless is somebody knocking down your mini from mid range right after you build it.
