Tuesday patch notes up. Audio, fortified, hit detection (!!!) fixes
No notes on drop collision removal, pathfinder hitbox, or a lot of the other stuff that needs fixing but it's a start, I hope
Fixed the bug that allowed players to stick objects to Gibraltar’s Gun Shield.
Admittedly it’s been fun to see the results of this but the behavior is not intended by design and could get out of control. Items will no longer stick to Gibraltar’s Gun Shield, however, it will now deflect Arc Stars.
RIP :c
Least it defects grenades, can really abuse that with arc star bouncing around corners.
To be honest, that was a really nice touch.

Not sure why did it get glitched, but holy shit that was my most intense match ever in this game. Absolutely fucking insane game. Also finally managed to win the Kraber 360 quickscope challenge by Naner.
Just wish the random teammate didn't quit. Could've still rezd him, don't know why people do that.
Well, they had me with the new event and S2 looming, but just as quickly, now they've lost me. Removing bhopping and banning fps configs is a travesty. Probably one of the single worst updates I've ever seen in an fps relative to my personal values.
Well to be fair, most of those configs were fucking with LOD settings which really should have been locked. They did give you a rather large advantage over players not using them so not surprised they've been locked out.
LOD has always been affected by graphics configs before, especially in source games. There's definitely a line at which they make advantages excessive and unfair (like not rendering smoke or, in Apex's case, muzzle flash), but more often than not these LOD changes are outright necessary for performance boosts.
It's no secret that Apex is either the most demanding game out there or the most unoptimized - or some combination of both - which makes these autoexec settings outright necessary to even play the game. My rig isn't some crazy streamer PC or anything but it's no slouch, and Apex is the only game I've ever needed to use a config for. It's that bad.

WELP. GG lmao, if this is intentional I quit even harder than I was going to before
What the fuck are they even doing at this point
It isn't surprising or even hard for me to understand anymore. Corporate probably said the game was becoming too "inaccessible" and too different than the competition (PUBG, et. al.) and to make it so that people didn't have such a big advantage over others. Skill isn't really something that's incentivized in games anymore if it means that people feel excluded or frustrated by not being able to compete.
The worst part is, if anything, the game is driving me back into PUBG.
Good thing a friend of mine pushed me back into Quake Champions because I'm dropping this as hard as a pile of bricks, fucking morons
This game did not at all last for my group of friends, which is really too bad because its got great potential. I check up on it all the time but honestly there's just been no convincing anyone i regularly game with to come back to it.
An invisible, soft-elo system would be enough to at least make the game less frustrating for newer players. The game's going to continue being absolutely unacessible for the newbies. More and more the game is being pushed towards a place where it's infinitely more rewarding for you to not be aggressive and take the drop on players right after the end of a fight rather than actually pushing and engaging players.
And here was me saving my coins for wattson or whatever that electric themed legend that was datamined from ages ago...
For what its worth, you can probably expect news on that in 2 days at EA Play.
We've tried the patch yesterday after taking a break for a few weeks and I must say, the game felt pretty horrible. We've played Blackout before jumping to Apex and I know this sounds weird but the movement and gunplay felt more satisfying in COD and I had better frames, too. Even dropped to 50~ fps at some point which feels absolutely awful on a 144hz monitor. I don't have the best rig but when I turn everything on low, most games run pretty well except Apex for some reason.
My binds were completely reset and had some weird issues when starting a game. My friends got kicked to the lobby while I got an infinite loading screen, the game crashed once for me and once for my friend. After winning a match, the game just turned to a white screen and I couldn't go back to the lobby. I have no idea what the fuck they were doing and it seems like they haven't even tested the patch.
I really like some of the changes but overall it felt pretty awful which is kinda sad because the game is so good. Well, gonna go back to Titanfall I guess.
Yeah Apex is pretty notorious at this point for having serious performance/optimization issues. I've never had a game run as poorly as Apex before in my entire life.
I got fps drops while having a 1080 ti, 16gb RAM and a gosh darned intel i9 9900K big boy CPU.
I actually got banned for using the autoexec commands to give me stable(r) fpses during matches.
That shouldn't be "giving me an advantage" if I have a 1080ti and a Ryzen 2700X I should be well above 144fps in a game like this.
Setting everything to low doesn't give me more than 4-5fps either so I had to do it drastically.
Respawn and EA can go suck an egg for all I care.
I do wonder if these performance problems are just the nature of Source. Even their highly tweaked version of it still uses a lot of the core of the engine no doubt. And the level formats of Source have never dealt well with large, open maps like Kings Canyon. TF|2 itself runs pretty well, but not perfectly and all of the maps there barring one or two are fairly enclosed spaces. Kings Canyon almost certainly exacerbates that problem, along with Source networking probably requiring a lot of work to handle the player count it has spread out over the map.
Idk where all your guys issues have been coming from, I've been playing weekly since launch and it's still runs fine and plays brilliantly.
It's more along the lines that Titanfall 2 plays like a freaking dream, and this doesn't. And supposedly they're using the same engine iteration.
Still runs leagues better than PUBG I have no idea what you guys are on about.
That really isn't saying anything in favor of either game, to be fair.
I still get a mostly consistent 144 whenever I play Apex while hovering around mostly high settings. PUBG struggles to get 60 at everything set to the lowest.
Useless without specs.
