jesus. That things way biggest then I could possibly imagine. And I thought the Tau Manta was big (which it still is) but holy shit
Well the Manta is technically wider than this is tall iirc, but the Warlord is 24" tall and bulky in every dimension, unlike the Manta.
At least you can Frisbee the manta across a room if someones talking mad shit
Only if you shout "Manta Strike" while doing it.
Tried this today, did my usual line highlights then tried this feathering/glaze thing on the chest armour and boots. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/223764/d9635f09-d0ea-4141-b9d6-d0f41e545546/image.png I really like how it came out actually! looks a lot more natural
Yep, specifically one that gets loaded up in a Centaur and shuttled up to anything scary. A pair of flamers and a heavy flamer isn't that scary, but the Centaur chips in a pair of heavy stubbers, the whole unit + transport only costs a little over a hundred points, and they absorb firepower way out of proportion to their cost. They never, ever survive past turn 3, but are incredibly handy all the same. That looks great, certainly a lot better than my first attempts at glazing! Now if you want to try for a little more pop, you can take a very light highlight color, thin it with medium, and apply thin layers to just the edges- basically highlighting with a glaze, rather than using a glaze to smooth a transition. The more layers you apply, the stronger the highlight, so you can gradually cover less with each pass to build up the color.
I guess the Master of Executions was the skin wearied gw teased in the rumor engine? Coming Soon https://whc-cdn.games-workshop.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/CSMPreview-Apr7-MasterofExecutions1sj.jpg Also ffs gw release Killteam Elites already.
Would it be worth traveling to England just to visit warhammer world?
Man. I had a good auction on Space Wolf Wolfgaurd terminators for 23 dollars on Ebay. At the last minute, like literally the last one, someone snipes me for 50 cents. Life aint fair sometimes.
I would probably also consider some other sights while there as well.
That's why you set a maximum bid and go to sleep. If you were willing to bid up until it hit $30, just put in a maximum bid of $30. If everyone else was only willing to pay $25, you get it at $25 when the bid ends. If someone was willing to pay $35, you lose the bid unless you want to beat their $35. This also helps me from overspending. "Well, I can beat his bid with just a few dollars more, no biggie." And at some point I'm nearly paying retail price for something with this mentality because my emotions are up and it's triggering some animal part of my brain telling me to win. Sniping isn't really a thing anymore if you just set a max bid of what you're willing to pay, and just completely fucking forget about that bid.
Didn't know about the max bid thing. Thoguht that once you put in a bid that you put in a bid. New to Ebay, although I did get a vintage Bjorn figure for my father.
If you mean the one I posted last page I don't think so. That rumour engine was from last week, but the Master of Executions model was already revealed about a month ago.
In fairness, bidding your highest amount right off the bat often results in bidding wars- as JCDentonUNATCO said it's easy to get sucked into trying to outbid someone else. And a lot of people do bid exact values, so sniping still exists. The best approach is to figure out how much you're willing to pay, then bid that full amount at 10 seconds (or less) remaining. Throw in a minimum bid if there are no bids already on an auction, to dissuade others or nullify a Buy It Now, if you like.
I've got a nice rebate so I'm considering splurging on my first airbrush. Considering getting a h&s infinity. But i'm at a loss when it comes to compressors. What should I look for? Is there such a thing as compatibility between airbrush and compressor? Is there a way to know noise levels? All tips appreciated.
I'm repainting my Venerable Dreadnought I painted when I first got back into the hobby since it was looking like shit next to my newer stuff, so I added some names to the memorial scrolls. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/196111/9a4bd62d-57f9-41c5-8d48-d0c329021d74/IMG_20190412_004844_213.jpg
Bain? Jimmy Bain?
John Bain/Totalbiscuit. Huge 40k fan
Man the detail on some of that shit must've been fiddly as fuck, you shoulda been a surgeon with those hands.
That should've been my second guess. RIP.
Saving lives? Nah I'd rather paint toy soldiers. The hardest part though was doing the leg scrolls, since GW decided making them a concave surface was a good idea.

Finished with the Dreadnought repaint. Now I can actually put him on the table without being embarrassed. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/196111/02aa44f4-6f35-4e5d-a509-06d63f49e348/if_venerabledreadnought_011.jpg Before > After https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/196111/ce2f717f-95fb-4ddf-9071-71561d82a7aa/if_venerabledreadnought_beforeafter.jpg
Looks sweet as fuck! Well done, man. Dorn would've been proud. By the way, GW has a big community survey going on right now https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/04/15/apr-15-big-community-survey-2019gw-homepage-post-1fw-homepage-post-1/
Time to beg for 40k rules for 30k Mechanicum units.
In my opinion that kind of defeats the point of all that technology getting lost during the heresy and because of that it's gone forever, fitting into the whole stagnation of technology theme that the imperium in 40k has.
Thallaxes are already canonically still used by the Ordo Reductor and it was FW themselves that promised 30k Mechanicum units were getting 40k rules with Fires of Cyraxus.
I disagree entirely. That's pretty much off the table now since Cawl is running around the Galaxy resurrecting Primarchs and making Marines 2.0. Not to mention that the same can be said for Space Marines, yet they are still able to field pretty much every Horus Heresy vehicle in the form of Relics. Mechanicus atm just sucks in terms of actually being a lethal powerhouse of technological fuckery and giving them some of their 30k units is what would fix it.
I'm just glad GW has been taking steps to get back goodwill from the community. Even if its often in weird one step forward kinda ways.
Does anyone have any good tutorials for NMM? I feel like this is the next thing i need to learn to really progress my hobby. Also anyone have an experience/opinions on Scale75 NMM paints?
