Super Smash Bros. General v26 - 🃏 THE SHOW'S OVER 🃏

I will say that this "Google search theory" leak is very interesting and definitely has some stuff going for it, for as weird of a coincidence it is
I know the chances of this happening are next to none, especially since he already exists as a spirit and he's not a hype character, but I still really want Karate Joe as a fighter.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I am perfectly content with the roster as is - none of my faves got cut, all my old ones came back, Simon Belmont at long last - and anyone else they add, anyone at all, gets a big thumbs up from me.
The only inclusions that could take the current roster from a personal S tier to an S+ tier are Doomguy, B&K, Travis Touchdown or Chrono. Any of those three get in and I'll lose my goddamn mind. Anyone else, well hey, that's pretty cool they're in Smash, and I'll be right there getting hype for them alongside their diehard fans; I already got that moment of my own this game with Simon, now it's someone else's turn.
Ultimate is the crossover that just won't quit, and I can't wait to see where it goes next.
Toon Link is a part of a map, he gets replaced if someone is playing as him.
Still think Golden Sun and Rhythm Heaven deserve representatives on the roster, and that barring potentially ARMS, remain the biggest Nintendo series with no playable representation that have moveset potential (i.e. not Brain Age or Nintendogs). Would also have been nice to get a new retro rep like the Mach Rider to continue the tradition, though you could argue that Simon is that.
Golden Sun (the game, not the entire series):
Sales: 1.65 million
0 playable characters
0 items
0 songs (the two songs are from each of the sequels)
1 assist trophy
8 spirits
Rhythm Heaven (the game, not the entire series. Fever is the cult classic, but I can't find consistent sales data on it.):
Sales: 3.04 million
0 playable characters
0 items
1 song (two songs for the titles afterward)
0 assist trophies
9 spirits
Kid Icarus Uprising:
Sales: 1.33 million
3 playable characters
6 items
1 assist trophy (2 in SSB4)
9 songs + 2 victory themes (though none of them are new remixes for SSBU. 4 additional for the NES title. 0 for the GB title.)
24 spirits (+ 2 for the NES title. 0 representation for the Game Boy sequel)
Isaac, a RH rep like the Wrestler or Karate Joe and Banjo-Kazooie would perfect the roster, barring Square actually being generous and doing something like okaying Geno, Black Mage or Crono, which nothing suggests they will given their treatment of Cloud.
Not that it would ever happen, but if Isaac got the assist trophy treatment because Felix or Matthew were planned as DLC down the road I'd fall out of my seat laughing. I would love to see a character with an existing trophy get what is effectively a clone character of themselves, or alternate version, like if MMZ Zero were playable while MMX Zero is relegated to assist trophy status.
Rhythm Heaven Megamix came out in between SSB4 and SSBU and outsold Rhythm Heaven Fever with no physical release in some regions and basically no advertising. Not really sure what else it really could do to define it's merit more considering that, especially when Megamix got a song in Ultimate.
Both Greninja and Incineroar where my starters in their games. So I totally expect whatever Grookey's final evolution to totally be in Smash.
I am 100% correct, there's no fighting my logic.
Are we absolutely certain Nintendo intends the DLC lineup to all be headliners? Or are we just assuming they'll do this to ensure sales?
Objection: I chose Litten and Froakie but I shall choose Sobble this time.
Checkmate
fuck
I also picked Froakie and Litten, and intend to pick Grookey (unless they completely drop the ball like Chespin's final evolution), so that balances everything back out.
Oddly enough, even though I had a Greninja and an Incineroar throughout most of my playthroughs, I never actually wanted either of them in Smash. Guess I should appreciate Sakurai more because he's clearly just trying to accommodate my tastes.
The only way I'd be hyped for a Pokemon newcomer would be a new Trainer with the evolutions shifted around, like a basic Scorbunny, a 2nd stage Sobble and a fully evolved Grookey.
so obviously there's no official source to link to for this or anything but it's something i figured would be worth mentioning - in discussions of DLC for smash ultimate on sites like twitter, discord, etc., i've seen it been brought up a couple times how apparently when it was said that there would be no DLC characters from series already represented a while back, this was actually a mistranslation and what Sakurai actually meant was that there would be no need for DLC for characters from previous games as Smash 4 had for Roy/Mewtwo/Lucas since ultimate already has all of the fighters from previous games. this might just not be true or is a just a wide-spread rumour but i can't exactly tell since i don't know a lick of japanese but it is something worth keeping in mind i guess.
Its the grinch leaks all over again.

Oh THAT’S where I need to look for leaks
Getting to know now what they're going to show just gets me more excited to go and see it. It's all upside for me.
Good luck to any of you boys going spoiler free.
So I was poking around the game with the language set to Japanese for a while, and one thing I noticed is that in the voices menu, it'll actually list the seiyuu for each character when you play their voice line. I didn't think much of it at first, but then I remembered all the characters who only have English voice actors worldwide and sure enough, even those names are listed and in fully legible English rather than katakana or something - primarily the Mario characters and Bayonetta's original outfit off the top of my head. They even have the announcer credited as Xander Mobus (Joker has a different guy in Japan and they only list the Japanese seiyuu in those cases). But when you switch the game language back over to English, there's no credit listed for anyone, even though they already have the strings for English-only characters' credits ready to go. Did the localization team just not wanna put in the effort?
This might be some galaxy brain shit, but Smash's whole thing is being the unexpected hype stinger at the end of every direct it's in. If Sakurai is straight up announcing there will be a new fighter announcement, that almost convinces me think there's gonna be a second.
Or it's a double bluff and there's actually NO new Smash fighters! DOUBLE the surprise! NONE of the reveals!
Watch it be an announcement for a announcement.
