I'm surprised there isn't a pure magic caster type. Think Megaman in terms of projectile spam.
No. They don't get any significant combos out of sucking someone, and kirby's suck is pretty pathetic.
I don't know about you but some of my most hated moves are ones that ignore shields. Ridley's and Incineroar's side B for example. I can't imagine how much I'd hate playing against a character with multiple B moves like that.
... Fuck it, the wildcard for me for smash is Master Chief. Or Doom Guy.
It's pretty clear that someone on the dev team hates grabs, just look at how terrible the anti-chaingrab mechanic is implemented or how they actively went out of their way to ruin Flame Choke, one of the community's favorite moves, with the ability to break out.
I have a weird Smash pick in Tressa from Octopath Traveler. She's a merchant girl who fights with a spear, has skills based around getting and spending money, and uses wind magic. She's got a cute and unique design and a really upbeat personality. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/203772/c46f3eb8-5e58-4a66-a82a-9bf4842ed25c/image.png Also Octopath Traveler has a lot of cool mechanics that would translate to Smash pretty easily, and the battle themes sound like they would fit the series perfectly.
She looks like a generic fantasy waifu.
Just like half the Smash roster?

The Octopath Traveller final smash could be forcing all players to grind for 4 hours before the match can continue
That's... fine for you? I desperately hate any kind of zoner. Doesn't mean the type should never be added again - the reason why I dont want it is because we have so many already.
To be fair, a character with a grapple move like that which actually leads into combos would be something really cool that we don't have that I'd like to see. All of the characters with grabs like that lead into big knockback throws, the only exception being Ganondorf's flame choke which leads to a possible missed tech punish or tech read punish (but only if done on the ground).
Because anime Search y'all's feelings, you know it's true
I think part of why I think Doomslayer(or Master Chief or even Joanna Dark as unlikely as that is, though I'd make her a Snake echo that comes with another MS rep or something) would be an interesting pick is that Smash doesn't really have any representation of FPS characters that I can think of aside from technically Samus. I'd be interested to see how they would set a character like that apart considering how guests seem to have their own weird playstyle quirks sometimes. Maybe Master Chief would have regenerating shields but when you break them he takes more damage than other characters for example. Doomslayer being able to swap between weapons or doing more damage on throws(and healing a little bit) to enemies that start glowing red or something.
I could take Dragon Quest seriously if they all didnt look like Goku.
The anti-chaingrab mechanic also prevents basic grab -> command grab combos which are entirely fun to do. Is it really small-brained when grappling in fighting games often involves more than one consecutive throw? I just consider it different. DeDeDe and Falco having dumb chaingrabs calls for them to actually be balanced, not to just blanket-eliminate them in every context. I probably wouldn't have stuck around with Smash as long as I have if chaingrabs like Melee Marth's or Melee Mario's didn't exist, even while agreeing that ones as good as Melee Sheik's, Melee Ice Climbers', Brawl Ice Climbers', Brawl DeDeDe's and Brawl Falco's were too much. There's got to be a happy medium between "always broken" and "causes normal links to whiff". Even if SSB4's chain grab elimination was something I considered fine, the command grab nerfs (i.e. making you die first) in Ultimate are way over-the-top and serve to make command grab interactions less fun, not more.
Eliminating chain-grabs from a dev perspective is smart; A lot of unintentional shit can be avoided like this. You raise a fair point about grab to command grab combos, though. Ganoncide was stupid, though.
Just play DK and cargo throw people to the blast zone, that hasn't been removed
I got nothing against Dragon Quest, it's just I've never played a DQ game and thus could not actually care less if a DQ protag got in the game. I wouldn't really be upset so long as he had a neat moveset, but it's the kind of choice that would make me say "was there really that much demand for this dude over everyone else who still isn't confirmed?" Chrono would be dope, Doomguy would be 11/10 if they managed to do him correctly, Banjo is the pinnacle of "why the fuck haven't you done this yet", but I feel like there are already so many JRPG sword boy protagonist characters in Smash already that a DQ rep that isn't literally just a Slime would feel like a wasted slot unless they really made a strong effort to make him/her unique.
They need to add the graveyard purple-blob boss from Luigi's Mansion 1 as a playable character
I'm honestly just not sure I want anything else from Square Enix if Cloud is their standard for character treatment. I'd even be down for 2B if it weren't for me thinking "wow I can't wait to have no spirits, maybe like 2 songs, and no english voice"
Casting my vote for the animals from Super Metroid as a tag-team character like Ice Climbers

final smash is them escaping the stage before it explodes in a reenactment of every Super Metroid speedrun ever
What exactly is his playstyle supposed to be? I can respect the work behind it but all I'm getting from him is a lot building blocks that do seemingly nothing and a worse version of Bowser Jr's side B, which is already a worse Sonic side B.
I pay $5 towards killing the animals. Thanks, TASBot!

"LOOK AT ME, I'M GOING TO LEAK STUFF!" Seriously, that was idiotic.
They were being super specific and granular with exact time-frames of when to expect leaks, so Nintendo probably traced back who she was talking to, and then found her information from there.
