Potentially unpopular opinon: I couldn't care less for Rathalos and hate fighting him in Classic mode
If they were to add back in all the sp modes from previous games and have more unique feeling classic runs I think the game would be fine in terms of SP content. Although hearing how much effort adding every character was it's understandable.
But damn do I miss brawl styled all star mode.
I hated that fight until I realized that they want you to use every single item that drops as if they were Monster Hunter items. After that I changed my whole approach to dodging, taking only free hits, and waiting for Deku Nuts to ground or stun it and Pitfalls to trap it. It got a lot easier.
Any fight that isn't Master Hand and Crazy Hand is almost a freebee for a 9.9 provided you did pretty well up to that point. Master Hand and Crazy are just too frantic to reliably beat without dying.
I avoided bayo in smash 4 because of the stigma surrounding her, but having played a few games in ultimate she seems okay. Is she really that bad of a character now?
She's bad because she's a combo character in a game where other combo characters are much, much stronger.
Her primary flaw is that she lacks killing power. She can wrack up damage just fine but you can't just ladder combo cruise control to win anymore. Any character who drops from busted-tier down to fair, even if they're still pretty good, tends to be called awful because people operate on a binary scale of "the best" and "not the best".

Damn, that's pretty close to the original, minus the Porygon and Sudowudo floats. I wonder how he pulled off all those elements entering the screen in the right sequence and then just staying there for a while?
It's frustrating cause she can STILL get pretty quick kills by putting opponents in bad situations and exploiting how they react. Just cause she can't kill with her combos anymore doesn't mean she can't put you anywhere on (or off) the stage she wants, reducing your options to just a handful of things that she can more easily hard-read.
She isn't bad, she just actually takes skill to use now.
It plays exactly like the original games and that's why I love the fight so much, as stated for the millionth time Ultimate's attention to detail is top notch
Found this on Reddit.

That video reminded me of the music from Dr. Mario 64.

Hopefully one day Doc and R.O.B. will finally get their own stages.

Holy shit the size of levels in game are actually massive.
I mean it's not really that surprising, you need to account for the pause-menu free camera and you can't just have your world suddenly end if you push the camera a little further than the default viewing angle. Many levels move around a lot too so they're big by necessity. It's particularly impressive in Ultimate though given that the extra power the Switch has over the Wii U seems to have mostly gone into extra detail in the stages.
Absolutely gonna get Big Shell, Rogueport, Bramble Blast, Super Meat Boy, Studiopolis and Winters
Very, very highly polished, and best yet, they actually look fun to play
I just finished working on another stage called Green Facility (ID: 61FTL5KJ)

It makes me wish we could make our own custom texture sets for the stages. Imagine what people could do with that type of power.
Oh man, found an old classic; I remember this from back in the day. One of them "misheard lyrics" deals.

I have some... interesting news. Remember that Master0fHyrule guy that had presumed connections to people preparing Nintendo's E3 floor for E3 2017 and 2018, leaking various details in advance such as Mario Odyssey's hat capture mechanic or the accurate leaked texture for Smash Ultimate's Battlefield, before Ultimate was even showcased at E3?

On April 24th, 2018, a YouTuber by the name of "Master0fHyrule" claimed on Twitter that a source had told him that Bayonetta, Duck Hunt, and Shulk would return as playable characters for the upcoming game. On the same day, he claimed to have seen the new version of Battlefield and uploaded an image of which he described as "a small piece of it from the Top-Down view".[1]
A day later, a YouTube user by the name of "GU KingofHeart" published a video in which he claimed that he received information about display items being featured at the Super Smash Bros. section of Nintendo's then-upcoming E3 2018 booth. He claimed that his source was the same source that leaked that Nintendo's E3 2017 booth would have a New Donk City-themed area, which turned out to be true.[1]
In addition to the display items, GU KingofHeart also uploaded an image of what he claimed was the center of the new Battlefield. The image lined up with Master0fHyrule's previous image.
All of the uploaded videos and tweets were deleted soon after they were posted. Discussion of the two leaks mostly remained within ResetEra and SmashBoards. On June 12th, 2018, Nintendo's E3 2018 event officially began. A new trailer for the previously untitled Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was demonstrated. In the trailer, the new Battlefield was revealed and officially confirmed both Master0fHyrule and GU KingofHearts' leaked images as legitimate. The trailer also confirmed that every previous Smash character would return, confirming the leaked characters in the process. At Nintendo's booth, all of the display items leaked by GU KingofHearts' source were confirmed to be real.
...well... brace yourselves:

The problem with "crowdsource leakers" is that there's not much they can do if someone who has legit connections to the company comes to them with fake news. This is why I disbelieve any leak on principle, regardless of the source, unless there's video evidence.
How many "trusted" leakers have we seen blow themselves the fuck up in the past year alone?
Either people are so desperate for the spotlight that they're willing to throw their long term reputation away, or the legitimate sources they used to have are gone and they have much less reliable ones now.

I call dibs on posting the "Ewwwwueehhhh?????" clip if the leak is actually true
reminder that you shouldn't call these things "leaks" because it helps reinforce the idea that it's probably true, even though there's no reason to think so
Yeah about that.
