Is this game worth it at its current price? Thinking of getting this for myself as an early graduation gift.

Definitely. One of the most fun multiplayer experiences recently. The devs are pretty active and open with the community and the game itself is pretty booming with activity right now.

I finally got a blue team that could win on Grad and boy did they do fucking work. Ended up with over 550 tickets left with red at zero. And all it took was rushing the center cap and taking it at the beginning, then staying on it the whole game and refusing to let red take it. They neutralized it a couple of times but never could take it. And basically it was just a matter of not over extending and getting wiped. I saw a naked guy throw a bear trap at the feet of a guy playing the lute. Lute guy was unperturbed so bear trap guy threw fire on him. Lute guy looked him in the eye and played his lute until he died, I was crying from laughing so hard

I want them to add a one handed Sabre You can get a blade for the Messer that looks kinda like a Sabre but it just isnt the same

Mixture of that and some manual notes on keyboard. The lute playing/attacks are based on direction/binded attack and do correspond to different keys/notes. Then I just looked over a music sheet and imitated that based on the in-game notes.

If you're looking for a well rounded loadout I've been messing with the recurve bow with sword 'n board combo as an in your face archer-soldier hybrid abomination and I have to say it works very well especially considering that you're almost always in headshot range.

Holy shit, you weren't lying. The ragdolls and gore systems are top tier. I have tried out a few weapons so far, but I keep falling back to the halberd almost every time. The damn thing is a lethal swiss army knife. Heavy infantry threatening you? Keep them at bay with good range and fearful damage. Lightly armored attacker coming at you? One poke to the face and he drops dead. Encounter a swarm of oblivious fools? Swing the axe-head around and watch their heads go flying. Feinting is easy and morphing is even more so. My only gripe is how much you need to sacrifice to carry it (only five total points of armor at most). Few games properly feature its power. MB: Warband only has a true halberd in certain mods. Kingdom Come: Deliverance had it in all of its soul crushing glory until they practically patched it out. Mainstream games? A gimmick at best. Apparenrly the Zweihander is similar in power and performance, but I don't think that's entirely accurate.

problem with zweihander is it's effectively the noobtube of mordhau tbh. at least halberd users have some imagination

Are the achievements bugged I swear I've gotten Yoink several times over?

Zwei is slow and predictable, if someone's using it you one they're going to feint and morph because regular swings are too slow to work, it relies on you to make the mistake for it to work. I'm not sure if there really is a noobtube in this game; all the weapons appear to be at the moment well balanced. Even the Maul is extremely predictable despite being a one shot machine because you know they're going to feint bait, that's the only way they can hit you without exposing themselves.

i have never seen a default zwei or maul user feint. they always drag or accel.

jeez people get reckless as hell when they try to flank you, i've gotten tons of kills just by swinging at gankers rather than the guy i'm actually fighting

So are we feeling that PC controls or a gamepad are better for this game? Trying to position attacks with a mouse feels janky so I think I'll give the alternativer a try tonight

Keyboard still. The mouse precision does help despite being melee, due to positioning and timing. The 240 system can be finicky so the way to go is to bind attacks to specific keys/mouse buttons.

Having a lot of fun with a fists only build. Going into a crow, using the "come at me" taunt and seeing who accepts the challenge is great.

Maybe my sensitivity is still too high. I'll adjust, thanks

You've could've made your life easier by introducing this nifty little midi tool Mordhau Lute Bot Cool stuff, problem is finding midi files that don't sound like cow vomit.
