I think the grid effect is made by ambient occlusion, turning that off removed it for me.

Well st0uty just fucking destroyed me in BR as we were the last guys standing, with him having 15 hp left. Both decked out in full armour and weapons. His weapon was the carving knife though.

Saw a dude get a total of 12 TK's with 3 catapult shots.
Here's my custom dude: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/109892/a8c6fe94-bd91-4803-a056-0c8323da42c9/Mordhau_notsolaire.png I've got 2 versions I use: The one in this picture, with an Arming Sword, Targe and the Medkit-or-whatever. I use it to kill, defend against arrows (Targe isn't a proper shield, you still need to parry with it but you can block arrows too) and toss Medkits around. One with an Arming Sword and two firebombs for just killing and fucking around. It's great fun, I've gotten I think 4 kills with a single firebomb once.
https://mordhau.com/forum/topic/15228/first-week-recap/ >As of today MORDHAU has sold just shy of 500.000 copies and we have reached a peak of 60.000 concurrent players yesterday On top of that we will start looking into Ranked/Competitive modes, starting with duels. However we cannot give an exact timeframe on when you can expect these updates to be rolled out yet. We are terrible when it comes to estimating things, I'm sure our alpha players can attest to that. Additionally we will keep adding new armor pieces and weapon skins here and there, as well as some new character customization options. Goals further down the line would be to release Modding Tools, as a lot of you seem to be very eager to create some custom content.
I really like the community on duel servers, I asked this nice man cosplaying as solaire if I could take a picture to show a friend, and he was nice enough to pose for me. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/222717/49c3dbe3-7c31-4114-96ad-b77f32ac5efd/20190506202827_1.jpg
When you don't know where the enemy are and you hear a lot of screaming inside a tower, and suddenly there's 12 people inside dancing and crouching around a lute guy. Then a fire bomb arrives

Just had a match on Mountain Peak that lasted about five minutes. Blue was entirely on point, we just pushed and didn't stop, steamrolling their cap, then the cart never stopped rolling. Blue still had more than 925 tickets at the end.
I really they add painted plate armor for the legs and torso. I'd love to run around in duel servers as a giant fat pink knight with a lute.

My game crashed and when I started it back up all my custom characters/loadouts were gone and I had to remake all of them from scratch. mordhau's only the 2nd game that's fucked me with deleting save data today!
Hi I keep seeing this game lately and it looks great from what I've seen of it thus far. Seems there's good swordplay, good customization, and plenty of fun goofs and japes to be had with other players. How's it to you guys so far? I see ya'll posting your knights and I wonder, are there builds and stats and can I make multiple loadouts/characters that I can switch between on the fly? And most importantly, there are gag weapons like lutes and frying pans? Having written this up I already feel like I'm fucking sold on it.
Politely: Stop writing and go get it.
I really want to get into this game but I have like no one to really voice chat and play with
Yup, absolutely go ahead and at least try it during the refund period. More than likely though you'll be plenty satisfied. As a Chivalry veteran, I love it so far as though it were a straight improvement, despite a bit of a clunky menu setup (but coming from Chiv, that's nothing new lol). There are indeed builds, with each loadout given 16 points to work with and each piece of equipment using up a certain number of points. Armor is simple: more protection = more points used, from 0-3. You equip headpieces, torso, and legs that will affect your defense level, and then the rest of the parts of the body are only cosmetic. Weapons are valued as low as 1 point (shortsword, dagger, hand axe, etc.) to as high as (i think) 13 (halberd, zweihander, longbow, etc.). Generally, the more utility or strength, the higher the cost. Stats are displayed next to equipment, and though they're basic now (damage, speed, reach) they're working on implementing documentation of advanced stats.
Why carry three frying pans when you can carry three lutes??
This is pretty advanced to me: https://i.imgur.com/OOgtwqt.png
Is there any reason to get leg armor? None of the weapons have enough reach to target the legs.
Carry Three Lutes + Dodge combo. Spend your time playing your lute whenever someone tries to stab you dodge away while continuing to play.
Some people, myself included, will actively aim for whichever body part has the least armour. Sure, the legs are the hardest to hit, but if you've no armour on 'em, even a small weapon will do a ton of damage.
Its strange, But I've fallen in love with the pan. Its so good. https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/804367063063165160/55DA078B4A5119CA90138A6A7F8F1F135D23721E/
What weapons can even hit there? I've tried some of the longest weapons but even stabbing at their feet while standing right next to them doesn't hit.
I seem to have no problem hitting legs with underhand blows with things like the bardiche, poleaxe, battle-axe provided It doesn't hit the ground first
No leg armor means a cheeky Executioner sword will split you in twain.
Literally just experienced this. My hubris lead to my downfall
Really not a fan of 1 hit weapons and equipment in this game. It doesn't really feel fair that anyone not wearing heavy leg armor instantly dies to a bear trap or an executioners sword one shotting a full health guy because it made contact with an unarmored portion of elbow.
I'm generally fine with 1 hit weapons, maybe adding more cons to using them would help such as making them slower or just more points? Though one of my favourite characters is an almost naked guy with a halberd so while I can 2 shot most people I get instakilled by pretty much everything so I've grown a bit used to it.
