now it looks like a real indie game
Someone on reddit posted all the weapon stats into a Google spreadsheet. Click here for big stats
I think he's also the guy you shoot an arrow at in training mode and he just gets up afterwards. Tip - if you get to wave 21, the shirtless giant with a helmet is him. He has bloodlust and foes insane damage so don't try to play fair and just cheese it like you do for the other 20 waves.
His name is Hans Seymour?
Shit, I think they're two different people then. Missed opportunity.
Uhh bad news guys I was dueling this naked zweihander dude and managed to go back and fourth with him pretty well but after I started killing him a lot he started doing a horizontal spin attack like chivalry and it actually worked once. He wasn't able to do it every time but he turned around, swung and knocked my head clean off. I think the zweihander is the only weapon able to do this (maybe because of the super slow swing?)
I'm going to barge in to clarify. Seymour is that tall, giant-esque looking guy with huge piece of wood in his hands. Even if that thing in his hands doesn't kill you(which it does pretty easily regardless of your armor), it will still knock you down, opening you up for more attacks, including a second attack from that thing, which will confirm your death. While Hans is pretty much that guy that tested your archery, except this time he has grabbed a longsword and chops peoples' heads off. And he has a Bloodlust perk, which fully heals him after each kill. Hans a has a lot of damage resistance despite only wearing helmet. And by "a lot" I mean "very lot". And no, he's not giant, unlike Seymour.
nope, the big lads are ogres seymour is the horde final boss, he just has shorts and a heavy helmet+longsword and is a large dude, not a lardass like the ogres
Back in the Beta, Seymour was just one of the bots, but he had noticeably quicker reaction times than the others when blocking, while also being just powerful in general with his longsword
Any advice for getting through Horde mode? I'm always playing with randoms and everyone keeps splitting up and getting killed by the enemy hordes. Highest one I reached so war was 10 or something, where the AIs get bows and shit. Can't imagine really getting through that.
Get into a high place, particularly something that requires a ladder since AI can't climb them. Get a crossbow or any sort of ranged weapon, save gold for ammo and firebombs. Rinse and repeat.
I’m a bit bummed the character customization doesn’t allow for female characters. I get they were probably sort of going for historical accuracy, but in my quest to recreate Game of Thrones characters I want to make Brianne of Tarth, damnit
They haven't ruled out adding in female characters in the future, but it's not a priority. I mean, if you look around long enough, you can find pictures of female characters from back in the alpha.
It's understandable why females aren't implemented asap. That'd be another set of voice lines, and armor/clothes variants and stuff. Definitely hope it is something that is planned post launch in the future. I do want to go around as a Joan of Arc-esque flag bearing warrior and fight for France/Free Guard.
Iirc you can set your character to be female if you edit the cfg file with all your character data, there's no face or voice, and the games doesn't let you stay female in-game.
Bit funny to see people pull history card in the official discord when there's nothing historically accurate about this game. I mean, time and money is definitely a thing and its 100% reasonable its lower prio compared to adding some other things, but I hope they find time to add it at some point.
Is the Blacksmith's Hammer just an upgrade to the Wooden Mallet? Like, is construction/repair time quicker?
Practicing with bots was a good suggestion to learn chambering, this is just after an hour of practice. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/224422/e294b33e-e871-4c39-b75e-3c142450dabf/practice.webm Though I always get the same bot. Is there a way to get a bot with a dagger weapon or a shield? I need to practice with weapons that have different timing.
The odd thing about the female player characters is that they had a prototype that was shown off in videos over two years ago.
I'm surprised I don't see people use the bardiche. I've been messing around with it and it has some really damn good range.
Probably has to do with how many points it costs.
Damn the bots in this are more competent than I had expected. Wolo the Noob just fucking crouch dodging my swings at his head while laughing at me blew my mind. Practicing chambering this way is really great, as Jeff already said above.
Accessing the console command like this doesn't work with my Swedish keyboard. Anyone know what I need to press?
Open this file: "[Game Directory]\Mordhau\Config\DefaultInput.ini" Add to the bottom: +ConsoleKeys=F1 -ConsoleKeys=F1 Change the key if you want to.
Biggest thread on the steam discussions is about this very topic.
I can't seem to play frontline any more, just get this infinite loading bug. What the actual fuck.
I had that issue almost immediately after release. The only fix I was able to find was literally just restarting the game a couple of times. All of a sudden, it worked again.
Verifying files seemed to fix it
You can change the key by going to your Steam library > Right click Mordhau > Preferences > (Local Files) Browse Local Files, then go to Mordhau > Engine > Config and open BaseInput.ini. Change +ConsoleKeys to whatever key you want there to open up the console.
Today's highlights include; Shooting a throwing axe mid-air with my crossbow bolt, making it fall to the ground Throwing an axe into the skull of a guy, punching him with my fist and then ripping the axe out of his head to finish him off before he could react Getting a lucky headshot on a horse rider just as he was about to spear me with his lance
