I need to get this setting and put on some fuckin bangers https://youtu.be/BJhF0L7pfo8
Horses are strong as fuck. I took out a horserider with my blacksmith hammer, picked up a nearby war axe, jacked his horse and went on an 8 kill streak. Which probably isn't much for some of the people in this thread but for me is unheard of. I only died when I ran right into the path of a teammates ballista and my horse ate shit
You haven't met me and my spike traps specifically designed to kill you

Please tell me you have this midi
https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/264994/b56190e0-664b-4d87-9389-6839ff6a9e73/entryofthegladiators.mid I had to edit it significantly to get it to play nice with lutebot.
I'm in love with the 1 handed mace right now, 2 shots every armor and is still quick enough to defend against lighter weapons. On a more constructive note along with my mace I've been using 2 bear traps as a Guard build; here's what I've found: Friendly perk doesn't effect them so they'll always deal half damage to your allies. They instant kill up to level 1 leg armor. you can have 4 active at a time. Cause massive ragequits when used effectively I'm not joking either, I cleared out 5 people from a full frontline server immediately after killing them. if you're quick you can place them down right before an infantryman gets close and instant kill them Most people skimp out on leg armor.
This is one of the few games where I can do pretty badly and win several games in a row and still somehow find myself not only having fun still but actually laughing out loud at some of the shit that happens. I made a 3x Throwing Axe build called "Raider mk2" and in a single game I managed to; -- get triple back to back throwing axe headshots -- snipe an archer on the wall from the second objective of Grad -- block a crossbow bolt with a thrown axe -- throw an axe into the back of an enemy which caused him to run away so I ran after him, grabbed my axe, and threw it in his face when he turned around. speaking as someone who didn't really get into Chivalry, I love this game. My only real complaints at this stage is that the load times are pretty bad and the horde mode feels underdeveloped but those feel almost like nitpicks.
My only complaint about this game is that engineers don't get points for his teammates killing with his mounted crossbow.
fucking straight out of runescape. sell ur gf
Is there any comprehensive video tutorial on different weapons and the advanced Stat screen? I feel so overwhelmed even looking at it and there seems to be no good way of comparing stats without going in and out of weapon selection. Also the different grips and handles and stuff makes stay differences? Up until now I've been going entirely on feel.
weapon skins are purely cosmetic
Engineers need some kind of passive XP gain of some form to even be remotely viable IMO.
Anyone else having issues with high ping? I have no issue in other unreal games, but here I'm averaging 500 ping on both custom and dedicated servers.
Went dueling to get some gold, ended up becoming a referee, joining a traveling group of bards, making several new friends and banging out the tunes for three hours straight. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1834/bdc1fb7e-1584-4035-91fd-955fe2effce8/bardnership.jpg What a wonderful game.
I need the midi of that. The one I have isn't that greatest.
I feel like I'm getting a little burnt out on Frontlines, but duelling is so fun. It really does make you better, and imo is way more intense than Frontlines. Especially if you're playing against someone who's around your level, or an alpha player/Chiv vet. Though, I kinda feel like that improvement in skill barely translates to Frontlines.
doing good in frontlines does not make you a better player, it's very rare to outskill an opponent. It teaches you how to spot and oppening and try to cleave as many people as possible with your long sharp stick. I have a quarterstaff build that I only use in duels, because it's suicide on any other game mode. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/222717/c729033b-f0b7-4f4b-8cff-e5a4a5c395e4/20190510214256_1.jpg
Oh it does. Most frontliners aren't all that good so even simple things like feinting and morphing work really well. In frontline you want to kill dudes as fast and as efficiently as possible as to break them before they can form a line. being really good at dueling helps in this but you're right in the sense that positioning is far more important.
This guy is insane https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrgYgI8W_TI

Love this game's character creator https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/241478/af6f70d2-bd54-46b1-97c2-7eb8a9890e20/1.PNG https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/241478/007f2f69-79a6-4198-8e8a-f35e932cff6e/2.PNG
The lack of current maps will be the death of this game. I'm hoping they add more maps on a fairly regular basis
I love that when you're in a party it shows you and your friends' loadouts. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/58175/1e1abe02-9389-4c4f-958b-d5f4f5468435/we out here flexin'.jpg me and the boyz about 2 run WILD
I gave other weapons a go. I tried the longsword, the poleaxe, the maul, the messer, and even the frying pan. But I always end up picking my halberd back up and start immediately cleaning house with it. It has the range, it has the damage, and it has the flexibility. I was barely breaking even in a recent Frontline game. Grabbed the halberd and went 30-10 by the end. Nothing quite screams confidence like a weapon that can swipe some dude's head off from a mile away, spike another guy from a mile and a half, and spear a fool from two whole miles distant. Play smart and you're nearly untouchable.
They've already said they're working on two more maps that'll likely release in June. I actually have confidence the devs will do everything they can to make this game as enjoyable as possible.
I really loath this recent trend of absurd expectations from gamers, where what's expected from a dev (an indie dev at that) is a constant, unrealistic flow of endless content. The game has only been out for 2 weeks and the "lack of maps will be the death of the game"? Maybe for those with the attention span of a goldfish.
Dodge + Spear is one surefire way to piss people off given the absurd range it has. Let them charge at you, dodge back and jab at them after they swung at you. Not the biggest fan of medieval stuff but I love this game and I'm glad I picked it up.
It just occurred to me that you can actually play baseball with the rocks and wooden clubs. Someone should get enough people together to try this.
