Flesh Wound is also a nice perk for having a small second chance to kill someone, on top of screaming like crazy when it procs.
Start a local match, open console with ` ~ and type 'slomo 0.1' for practice chambering. I just went from 0.1 to normal speed in a few hours chambering reliably.
Might be a bit OP but I kinda wish having a heavier weapon could just break through an opponents parry if they're using a lighter weapon. Or at least have a perk that allows you to do this for certain heavier two handed weapons. Like having a maul smash through the parry of a cleaver because of the difference in momentum. It probably currently drains a lot more stamina for the defender than other weapons, but not quite the same as overpowering the enemy through sheer force.
I'll definitely have to get used to chambering, but I do like it. I think my only frustrations with the game so far is that I can't seem to hit shit despite it looking like I should be well within range, but maybe that's just a combination of the game probably having tighter hitboxes than Chivalry paired with my rusty ass. I feel like the only thing I really miss from Chivalry was how well defined the classes were. Mordhau goes for a more "make your own class" approach, which definitely adds a nice bit of customization and personalization, but I do kind of miss the defined classes approach to where each class even had their own personalities. Not that I dislike Mordhau's approach at all. I love it.
how are people so good at this game already. none of my chivalry expertise has travelled over, the blocking is so weird.
How long have you played chivalry? I played almost 3000 hours. While I'm still nowhere near as good as the people who played in alpha and beta, enough skill transferred over to trample all non-alpha players
Seeing people do this has convinced me Bloodlust needs a bit of a rework. My idea is roughly that it provides immediate and uninterruptible regen, up to the equivalent of a full heal in value. But incoming damage would still take your health down. So depending upon the pace of combat you may get a full heal or it may just give you enough to survive one more attack or whatever. It just shouldn't be instant full health.
A few hundred hours. I'd say I was proficient in playing how the mechanics were intended to be played but I was never any good at the 720 breakdancing shit. Granted I haven't played in a couple years.
It's almost worthless to "practice" doing it. Every single time I've chambered someone, it was by mistake.
A lot of it is reflexes, and positioning imo, which does transfer for me at least
I'd rather flip it and have it that some small weapons can't parry, like m&b did.
That just renders them completely useless though.
Was having a miserable time with heavy weapons until I realized you can bind to specifically do over/underhand strikes. Now I can stop getting sick teammate kills.
You know they have a perk just for you Although I see the value in setting up those binds I'm loving dynamically swinging with the mouse alone way too much fun to give up~
I genuinely hate playing against people with spears and polearms. If they just get in your face, they're extremely difficult to parry because the active frames start before the thrust animation does, and the tip of the weapon, which you've been taught to parry, is essentially in / behind you by the time you've be conditioned to parry. I hope they change them a bit, because right now they feel cheesy.
I can't get gold and xp, sad time
Ain't nobody fuck with the frying pan bois
i think this currently does happen but it will take 2-3 swings rather than one.
Only problem is that the frying pan view model is rotated to take the most amount of screen real estate.
ever since i picked up the estoc i've suddenly been going places i've had 30 second long chambering duels a few times now, and that's a long ass time to be chambering constantly until someone slips up
point is you have to pair them with shield or buckler - and you can still parry.
Is there a reason why I can't level up?
Something messing up on their side I believe. I sometimes get gold and xp and sometimes don't. There's a server named something like "[GER] SSD 24/7...." that has worked super well so far.
xp/gold gains are currently really bugged. it still tracks them on the server, but it doesn't actually reward you until ages later
The progression system is currently completely fucked after they rolled out a patch to fix server instability. They're currently working on resolving it, and have semi-said it should be fixed tomorrow morning when they restart the servers.
Then the cost you use them goes up harshly. Its just flat out the wrong approach to take with them.
Okay, server's full and seems to be performing fine and stable. IP is 45.76.237.245 typing in zarth.xyz will probably work too. to join a specific server you open the console with ` and type "open IP". Or in the server browser it'll be ●w●'s Dallas Server. As of right now it's just 48 player frontline, if I had better hardware I'd up the tick rate buuut, I don't. I might eventually convert it to a pseudo-duel server, by having it set to 20 player deathmatch with rules/customs. btw this game actually has a votekick, a lot of people don't seem to know that. You just type votekick name into console, and people can press page up or page down to vote.
I'm unable to unlock anything, is that also an issue on their side?
yep
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah, lost horde on wave 21 after an hour and a half of playing, got nothing for it. At least I got to show my friend the special horde units.
