I'd love to know what it is about Grad that makes the majority of Blue absolutely incompetent. Every single match Blue just fucks about, ignores the caps, and always ends up getting pushed back in to the castle. I've literally never seen Blue win that map.
Honestly, late stage Horde mode kinda gives me Mount & Blade vibes. And I guess that's what they were going for. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107214/be6fc13a-697f-47ec-a6a3-e88a4c45d2cc/20190502025732_1.jpg
Got the hang of it now, loving it. One thing, has anyone managed to duck under a swing? I used to duck in chivalry all the time but it hasn’t worked once for me yet. Swinging around a block too. It seems that blocking at all as long as it’s timed right will just block anything.

i'm gonna wake up in the middle of the night and one of those fat little gremlin fucks who throw firebombs at you in survival is gonna be sitting beside my bed and i'm gonna scream my head off
What's that horde mode you guys keep mentioning?
I can tell you for sure the red map destructible barriers that defend reds second point is a massive boon in closing off their backfields to skirmishers meanwhile blue's map is super open to flankers. Even if blue takes the camp they still have to get through those damn barricades which gives the red team a natural rallying point to retake the camp.
Loadsabots vs a small number of human players, spawning in waves. You get cash for kills and buy your weapons
Is it just me or is the targe a all-round worse heater shield? I really want to use it for that viking style but it sucks that the targe can't block for more than a third of a second. At the same cost the heater shield has a larger profile and can be used to block for much longer. What is the benefit that I'm missing of using the targe?
I heard you could use a lute so the first thing I did was this. https://i.imgur.com/6BBy5aC.jpg
I wish they would improve the map Contraband. If you spectate the game you can see the fortress has many levels that you can't reach, and I'd love to get some staircases and bridges up there. Tight spots to fall off, places you need to jump to; it'd be a great place for practicing something different.
So I haven't played this yet and only know a little about it. I know it's basically a resurrection of Chivalry by some of the original devs, so I have a couple questions: a) Are glitchy attacks fixed in this game, or have they at least taken steps to discourage/fix them? b) can you customize your armor without having to wait eighteen years to get through a progression system to get the ones that look good?
Everything that was bullshit with Chivalry has been completely removed or reworked with Mordhau, since it's made by veterans who deliberately wanted to make a game cause they were unhappy with the shit in Chivalry.
nice one, its also called playing the objective. Can't avoid crowds of people if said people are attacking/defending objectives.
If they are just repeating your chambered attacks back at you you can try morphing your chambered attack.
Ive tried that but it never comes out, maybe I have the timing wrong.
i'm working on developing my estoc playstyle, since while aggressively thrusting until they die usually works against most players - especially in frontline, it's nowhere near as satisfying as genuinely outplaying my opponent with a series of deceptive slashes before finally poking their eyes out. need to go hard on chambering practice and shit since i still suck at reading my opponent's moves when i'm adopting a more responsive approach
You can't morph combos.
I do it all the time.
I like laughing at two people who are constantly following me while I deflect their attacks, only for reinforcements on my side to show up. And then continuing to laugh as they get steamrolled.
What do I dislike about the game however, is that whenever you're in the middle of nowhere and have been dueling with a skilled player for like an eternity, and suddenly some asshole coward stabs you in the back for an easy kill ruining all the fun. Oh and if you kill peaceful lute players may you burn in Hell.
Yeah us lute players are getting it rough, I've had people loose a fair number of arrows my way, someone even used a Ballista on me. I even have people chase me down to kill me, like I ain't even a threat, they just kill me and the music.
Wow pavise shields are really fun to use, you can use them as very useful blockades in tight spaces and most players have no clue how to deal with it. You can just stand a meter behind them with a crossbow and shoot at people as they have no clue how to deal with the pavise, with just two pavise shields me and some pubby blockaded the main gate of the Taiga fort and the enemy team just swarmed in front of it in confusion how to bypass this obstacle. Bought the engineers enough time to really seal the place of with their spikes.
I trusted lute players until one decided to pull a dagger on me when I wasn't lookin'
Why do some shields protect you in 180 degrees?
archers are shooting arrows at you because they're massive cunts, always. SWORD and bOARD not BOW and ARROW ok.
To defeat archers, chase after them with a scythe because scythes have ridiculous range and one-shot to the unarmoured body.
Thats a real bullshit thing, having a poleaxe get "blocked" with a downard slash by a kiteshield that didn't even move feels bad. It would be neat if long reach hooked/axe weapons could circumvent shields better by going around them. A friend of mine did say that the hitbox for the scythe can go around shields pretty easily.
Is it more benefitial to be skinny and short in this game?
Kicks seem to work pretty well for me. You can combo off a kick which lets you hit them before they recover. Just got to make sure you are close enough and don't do it when they're about to attack.
