It's good that almost all achievements aren't bound to playing the game on Well Done because that's the point where the game hits peak bullshit, it's immensely amazing on Pink On The Inside and Lightly Broiled and I have no shame completing the game on those difficulties over Well Done.
Am I the only one who'd prefer if higher difficulty =/= higher enemy health?
It's bad enough that enemies deal a ton more damage to you on the hardest difficulties, they shouldn't take a second more to kill on anything higher than the medium difficulty. That's a second more the enemy and its allies can attack you and take a huge chunk off your health, and it's unsatisfying to be dumping so much ammo into one enemy because the difficulty demands it. Difficulty presents challenge, and challenge presents risks, what's the fun of taking risks when you're hit by a road block of meat that hits harder than you?
I'm of the same opinion, its best that it is just more damage done by the enemies and more enemies themselves, just how like Serious Sam does it. Enemy health increase being optional behind custom options in SSHD and onwards. Also how in Fusion Sam3 Serious gives special attacks to some enemies.
The worst part of enemy health increase on higher difficulty imo is that it toys with your memory. In Serious Sam I like that I can memorize how many hits with each weapon each monster takes so I can count on 2 tommy gun shots to off a kamikaze, or 1 rocket to take out a blue mech, 2 grenades to take out a red mech, etc. Whenever a game makes the enemies take more damage suddenly it completely throws me off and makes me feel like its just making me relearn the game rather than play better.
I like the difficulty levels in Soldier of Fortune, where the proper 'balanced' hardest difficulty is called Challenging, and the actual hardest one was called Unfair, and it's unfair because aside from limited saves, it had enemies spawn by a quadrupled factor with an increased frequency, and since noise attracted more enemies and affected the spawning frequency, so each level has you gunning down almost a thousand baddies. But iirc spawning isn't indefinite so they still run out eventually. It also lowered your ammo cappacity but since you're killing so many enemies, you could just easily replinish off from them. But nonetheless instead of just increase HP and turning them to bullet sponges, it just made the AI more aggresive, thus it's still completely possible to beat it under Unfair because it's technically just a more ridiculous Challenging mode. Definitely a lot more fun trying to just carefully whittle down bullet sponges.

You've got to be shitting me right now.
This is their stupid mobile game, Legacy Of The Beast

Apparently they are saying that Ion Maiden has similarities with this title.
Yeah.
Fuck off.
To be honest, when I first heard of Ion Maiden I did misread it and thought it was to be an Iron Maiden game.
But regardless, it is a stupid lawsuit claim. I doubt the actual members of the band care, as it is their holding company that is filing this lawsuit.
https://twitter.com/3DRealms/status/1133991532850294784
We’ve recently heard about a lawsuit filed in California by the band Iron Maiden, claiming our old-school first-person shooter Ion Maiden is infringing on their trademark. From what we’ve heard, the suit claims our main character Shelly Harrison, originally debuting in 2016’s Bombshell, is based on their musician Steve Harris; our skull bomb icon found in-game is based on their skeleton mascot Eddie; our logo in itself is based on theirs; and other frivolous claims anyone who has played Ion Maiden would find more over the top than Shelly’s “Loverboy”, her signature 18-round triple-barreled revolver.
We at 3D Realms, our co-publishers 1C Entertainment, and developer Voidpoint will review our options once we receive official notice of the lawsuit and will make any necessary decisions at the appropriate time. Regardless, everyone continues to work diligently on Ion Maiden to deliver the best possible experience later this year.
What's weird is 3D realms abandoned the Ion Maiden trademark on December 28 2018
Trademark Status & Document Retrieval
I do think RAGE 2 is rather flawed now that I've examined it more, but regardless, I've had tons of fun with it, something which I couldn't say for the first game.
Also, if the game is too easy for some of you, apparently there's a rather nasty bug where even if you set the difficulty to hard or nightmare, the game has a chance to lower back down. Yeah...
Been thinking about buy the Soldier of Fortune games. Are they any mods for them?
Weapons Mod for SOF2 is pretty nice.
Weapons Mod v5 addon
For SOF1 make sure you get SOFplus , that way you can get widescreen. Also you gotta cap your framerate to 60 or you'll slip and slide all over the damn place.
Also for some reason SOFplus lets you increase the sound quality past 22hz (which I think was the original best sound quality) which sounds all cool and stuff, except it breaks some audio in SP so make sure you leave it on 22hz.
Check out the PCGW article for SoF2 so you can get it all nice and widescreen

Might as well put this here
SIGIL is available for free download now. Seems like it is also updated too so those who bought it might want to download the free ver so you can update it.

Incomplete changelog from the CHNGLG lump in the WADs: https://www.doomworld.com/forum/topic/103430-sigil-new-romero-megawad-release-date-now/?page=78&tab=comments#comment-1993241
How embarrassing, inadvertently revealing to everyone that you use the Doomsday engine!
outdated 1.8.6, at that.
Is getting Blood: Fresh Supply worth it now? has it been sufficiently patched?
That has got to be the most retarded thing iv read today.
By the logic of those lawyers, microsoft should sue the christian religion because of its use of Halos.
An update on that DOOM Eternal mural:
https://twitter.com/DOOM/status/1134778414932680704
New Icon of Sin there? Alongside the Tank/skeleton thing from before and that tech angel.
I wonder if they're going heavy on boss battles/miniboss enemies because god damn thats still a lot of mural to go and there's already so much new stuff.
With the scale they're going for in the story, what with humanity being invaded and presumably a search into the Night Sentinels or other factions instead of just isolated labs of dead people and outer reigns of hell, I can very much believe that they want to make a boss fight like the Titan actually happen this time around. The meathook is practically asking for a large scale battle to take advantage of it in.
Finally, the Cyberdemon gets his heavenly counterpart.
The Cyberangel.
I can be your Cyberangle….or yuor Cyberdevil
So Doom Eternal could turn into an FPS God of War? That sounds fucking amazing if it does happen.
Man, I'm stoked for Doom Eternal. Doom series might have one of the most successful reboots in long-term history of videogames, and the sequel's looking to be even better!
Though couple of questions still linger in my head. Will Cyberdemon(s) make an appearance in Eternal, and if so, will they get a visual re-design like some of the 2016 characters? From what I know, some were a little disappointed by Cyberdemon's redesign in 2016, and seeing as the ones in Eternal harken back to the old designs, it feels like it might get a similar treatment.
Or maybe they'll just bring back the Cyberdemon's corpse from 2016 and have it be even more cybernetic, with machinery replacing the head that Doomslayer busted the fuck up. Who knows.
Its good, and once you complete the campaigns, give Death Wish a try. Very stellar map-design that beats out the original campaign maps.
Cryptic Passage was also my favorite from the default campaigns because of the good map design
